Oh, and for the record ... I never noticed the pink in your sig before.
Then the shadows did their job. And to further elaborate on the Gaara pic, a good highlight can really show the contrast to a midtone. If you look at the hair on yours and mine, the hair seems more vivid although the only thing I did was add a streak across his hair. It's a weird eye psychology trick I was taught and is a basic principle of highlights and shadows. Using correct highlights or shadows allows you to contrast against the midtones and thus make them look more vibrant and alive.

I'm still debating whether I should watch my RAW of Bleach or not. The quality is really crappy and I know the end of the episode is gonna make less sense since it goes back towards talking. But who knows how long it'll take to finish subbing it, with it being two episodes with a new OP and ED. At least since most of the episode is made up of fights, it'll be easier to understand.

I've never bothered with raws for anime because I'm not going to waste 20 min watching something I cant understand,
manga, on the other hand, takes only several minutes to "read" a raw chapter, and I'm taking Japanese, so the more of it I see, the better
Cool. Those prices aren't bad after all. I remember looking into this show a long while back, and it went for about $80.
Well, since my birthday is fast approaching, I just ordered it from Circuit City for $34.99.

http://entertainment.circuitcity.com/Movies/BoxSet.aspx?set_id=S014696&prodid=MGV4130DVD

Hopefully it will be here in a week.

I also got Ranma 1/2: Big Trouble Nekonron China ($24.99) and
the Samurai Champloo O.S.T. for ($12.99). Just listening to the samples got me excited! Also, I'll only need the 2nd Ranma movie to complete my Ranma DVD collection.

I was also looking for the Night Warriors DVDs, but they are both hard to find. :bomb:

I'll probably round out some of my splurging with some shows that DuelLadyS recommended to me in the past.

I'd say wait since it'll most likely be done by saturday anyway so that bandwidth could be put to better use.

Well, I already have it downloaded, but it's really really crappy quality. I don't know if SM was smoking some crack while getting the RAW or what, but it's jumpy as all hell. I think I'll wait for the the sub to come out. Shouldn't be too much longer and hopefully they have found a better raw.
Naruto manga is out and someone is back

Though I don't think I could ever be satisfied unless we got a new volume each week.
Watched 154 and it wasn't bad. The fight was anticlimatic, though it seems it's not over. Lee's does a great job of fighting in a less-than-conscious state of mind once again. :) The OP and ED are alright, though that may grow over time. At least it's something instead of that old one that's been on for 40+ episodes.
I didn't mind, it was one of the better ones. At least song-wise.

I agree. I was getting a little tired of seeing the same ones...was wondering when they were gonna change.

If you can cancel that order from Circuit City do it. Rightstuf.com is having Manga Entertainment as the stuido sale which means the Street fighter 2 V DVD set is on sale til Oct 16th for about $27 after shipping. That goes for Saucy Jack as well, if he's interested. Just make sure to use coupon code HARVEST at checkout.

Also, last I heard the Night Warriors DVDs are out of print, I was looking for the secound some time ago and Viz Media's direct store had it though, so you may check there.

Yeah, I saw that this afternoon but my order has already ready shipped. :whistle2:?

No biggie though. I think Rightstuf said theirs wouldn't ship until 8-10 business days.

I remember telling someone about Viz having the Night Warriors DVDs available. At the time I was broke so I couldn't get them myself. I'll probably look at some smaller stores online. I am not too keen on ebay. :whistle2:#

Thanks for the tip, Duo. I should be getting paid soon.

I have the last three volumes here at the house, of SF II V, from Netflix, so I'll give them a look and decide if I want to buy. Volume 1 was great.

In the words of Will Ferrell, "oh sweet irony", that was probably me you told then and now they are backordered apparently. Well, I normally do alot of price checking for the Right Stuf postings and whatnot anyhow, so I'll be on the lookout for them.
Now I know why I slowly drifted away from anime... too much good stuff and not enough money.
Tell me about it.
Did anyone ever find out anything about the Jushin Liger anime? I haven't been able to keep up with this thread lately.
I've made some inquiries, but all I got so far is a confirm that it was never released stateside. Considering age, you'll be hard-pressed to find a fansub or bootleg...

You might be best off getting a CAG in Japan to find a raw copy.

NO!

Thanks for trying, though. If you happen to come across someone selling it, or a torrent, or something let me know. :)

Also, I'm still interested in seeing it if it isn't subbed or it happens to be dubbed.

Well, I didn't know before that, but I have it now. I'm not totally sure about what it's gonna be like. The OP starts out slow but it gets better (song-wise) when Shizuru shows up in Otome form. I haven't watched it all the way yet, but it looks interesting.

Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid episode 11 is out
Am I the only one here who's following this kick ass series?

also, whats mai otome about?

 I was watching Bleach 48 from Lunar and when they went to the bump cards to signify where the commercials were to begin, it went to a Beet the Vandel Hunter bump! Then it went to a Bleach bump, but that was a totally awesome mistake. :) Nice to see some recognition from Lunar for it.

(Note: It's for a couple seconds at about 11:52 or so in the show.)

This is your morning wake up announcement for Bleach 52-53 by Bleach Society. Get it now biatchez.

It's... ok. Not good nor bad. But it's the first eps so I can't judge it too harshly. Though, the Slave's crotch cannon was a funny surprise as I spit coffee on the screen laughing. And I'm guessing that Arika = Mai though she acts more like Makoto.

I'm following FMP: TSR though I'm waiting for the Bakakozou or AonE version (which I know will take a while). Otome is basically the anime Mai-HiME in an alternate dimension setting.

I'm interested in seeing how some of the things in the opening are gonna affect Mai-Otome. Because I know I can't be the only one who saw Mai in the opening, although she was shrouded in shadows. And as far as FMP:TSR, I can't exactly skip to that since I'm only about halfway through FMP. Once I finish that and FMP:F, then I'll start watching TSR.

thanx, too bad there is no episode next week. I dont really get the idea of having a special and having no episode the following week, but I guess I can complain more next week. At least someone showin up in the Bleach manga should have me entertained.

I like how Ichirin no Hana definitely has the same vibe, lyrics-wise, as D-tecnolife, which definitely fits in with SS. Though who knows what it'll be like with the after-SS stuff. Though I also expect there'll be some filler once we get to the final confrontation of Soul Society.

They probably figure since there's 2 this week, they'll sync up next week anyway. Speaking of the manga, I must say I like the new menagerie of characters showing up especially those in aktcv's court.

Hmmm, just saw the episode again and I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. Looking at the intro, I'm fairly sure Arika = Mai with a different name.

During the OP, there's a shot of someone engulfed in fire with the a mark branded on them with rings around their hands and feet. If that's not Mai, then I'm crazy or something, cause it's definitely Mai.

Then it's definitely Arika. If you look at how Arika's Otome form briefly while they fell from the helicopter, it's in the same shape as the shadow. Remember in the beginning it was pretty much a Moses intro (baby in a basket sent down the river) so I'm fairly sure that Mai will end up being the long lost princess and Arika is just the name given to her by the ppl who found her.

I dunno...I don't really see it as the same...

to

The hair in the shadowed figure definitely looks more like Mai than Arika, and on a whole it just screams Mai at me...

EDIT: Though I can sort of see that theory you have being true...I don't know...

The arm/leg bracelets do it for me but for any more evidence, I think the eyes seal the deal for me. The real mystery to me is Nina. I believe she was supposed to be based off a minor character in HiME but for the life of me, I can't remember what she looked like or acted.

As a side note, FMP: TSR 10 by bakakozou is out.

Nina is in episode 2 or something like that. When Mai first goes to class and there's a shot of everyone in the clas. She's sitting like up and to the right or left of Mai.

EDIT: And looking at the image, the eyes are definitely Mai's eyes. They're a shade or two paler than Arika's eyes and fit perfectly with Mai's eyes.
Nothing new there.
Aren't the pictures around Itachi new? I don't remember seeing them before.
Aren't the pictures around Itachi new? I don't remember seeing them before.
We know Itachi will be in the game, so they're nothing new.
We know Itachi will be in the game, so they're nothing new.
But the pictures are new, so you're wrong about there being nothing new! ;)

Just finished 52-3 of Bleach and I gotta say I'm diggin' the new OP. It seems everyone's throwin' their Bankais out.

EDIT: I'm also picking up a new series called Black Cat. The manga looks pretty good so hopefully the anime will follow suit.
But the pictures are new, so you're wrong about there being nothing new! ;)
Yeah, the pics tell me nothing new. See? I'm right.

Just finished Black Cat and I think it's definitely on my list of 'To Watch' animes. Nice opening sequence for a 1st episode.
Yeah, the pics tell me nothing new. See? I'm right.
Though I'm pretty sure they gave Itachi a new Mangekyou Sharingan move. Though I may be wrong.
Yeah, the pics tell me nothing new. See? I'm right.
Well, it looks like Itachi/Kakashi/Sasuke is a team now.
