Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Get Your Feline Fingered Copy!

ooo. Sounds good to me. I stopped playing 2 and didn't get very far. Mebbe I sell off 2 and get G/Unity instead.

Hm, G-Unit. That's weird.

Sweet news, I started playing MHF2 about a month ago. I'm already about 170 hours into the game. It's a freaking blast when you have people to play with.

I've been playing 2nd G in English for quite awhile and I can tell you this, it's a huge step up from Freedom 2. It's all of Freedom 2 with more missions so you can get rid of your freedom 2 after getting it. There is all new way stronger armor which will make that Dark Akantor armor look like crap

The only downside is that the GS charge can bounce off and the upstab during blocking for the GL is nerfed so the Gun Chariot is no longer the preferred way of killing Akantor

Also for those saying there is no online multiplayer then google "X-link Kai", it's not official but it works ( this is for any Monster Hunter game)

There are a few different english patches for MHP2G floating around the internet... check skiesofcroda since theendoftimes is offline these days.

I didn't pirate the game so I just want to get that out of the way. I bought mine off of playasia and ripped it so I can patch. I'm not going to add to the pirates and to me it was well worth the $50ish I payed for it

Same here, and so far it has been worth every penny... i've got about 200 hrs in on 2G with the English patch.

I also have been playing the English version of MHP2G for about a month and a half (actually bought 2 copies of MH2G for me & my wife to play...no pirating here) What I can say about the game is that the difference in the blood between the US and Japanese versions is amazing. You can get a better sense of what type of damage that you are inflicting with the added blood. I'm just hoping there will be a way to transfer our characters from MFP2G when Unite finally comes out.

For anyone wanting to check out the patch details, check out the Team HGG site at http://www.teamhgg.org/

I just bought MHF2 (first Monster Hunter game I've ever played) to get the hang of it before Unite is released. It will be cool to be able to play cooperatively online with other people. I'm trying to stick with the great sword even though it's extra slow. Game seems pretty good though.

if you like the great sword but want more speed with good power, use the katana. it's fast and good damage but you lose defensive abilities.
So this will have online play, but only if you have a PS3?
yes. it's a smart move on sony's part but not cheap unless you own both already.
yes. it's a smart move on sony's part but not cheap unless you own both already.
That's really cool for PS3 owners, but since I don't have one and my friends who have PSPs aren't interested in this kind of game, I guess I'll wait for Monster Hunter 3 or Phantasy Star Zero.

Gonna be all over that PS3 online play... MHF2 really captured my attention December last year. It also annoyed the hell out of me but being able to play online would alleviate a lot of that.
i can't wait. are people going to start monster hunter groups on cag? i am a hammer and GS dude mostly.
Once it goes live I plan on coordinating it and setting it up. Such a great game :)

I really wanted to get into this but I just couldn't get over the camera. Any tips for giving it another shot? Should I try something other than the sword as a starting weapon?

The thought of actually being able to party up with people is exciting, but I'm afraid that I'll still be wrestling with the controls.

If anything, the co-op mode is where it's at. I played local wireless with my co-workers and it was very fun. If you can find other people to group with, I think you'll be able to get over the camera, controls, or whatever. I kinda see what you're talking about, but I forgot about most of it playing with other people.

I can see how it might be a drag in single player, though.

I'm really looking forward to playing this series again. I really got into it on the PS2, but lost interest after the first PSP game because it didn't have any true online mode and I had no one else to play with. Too bad it doesn't look like it's coming out until the 2nd quarter of 2009 from the looks of it.

ok.. I'm bad...

I just recently popped in this game in my PSP to play a little bit and next thing I know I've been playing t for a few days at long lengths >_<

Anyone think they'd like to try the PS3 ad-hoc wifi thing at some point?
Anyone think they'd like to try the PS3 ad-hoc wifi thing at some point?
I would. It's really the only reason I bought it.
Does your PS3 connect via wire or wireless? You know wireless won't work, right?
it's wireless, but I can switch it to wired if the need be.
Sounds like Monster Hunter 3 may not only get a Wii release... strong indications of a PSP release as well.
PSP doesn't make sense if they want to release the game next year...2010 maybe, but i could see PS2 and/or PS3 for next year if that have started development already. I could also see MS putting down some money for a 360 version. And we know Capcom is familiar with the 360 so that's entirely possible. However, depending on the assets, it would be much easier to port the game to the PS2/PSP.

Heck, i just want MHFU to hit the states already so i can play.

PSP MHF3 could happen. Just use the MHF2G engine and add all the new stuff... it's not like 3 is a huge departure from the first two games other than the swimming sections.

Oh i know it could happen, just 2 MH games in 2009 would be a bit much. If they do release it on PSP, i'm hoping for 2010.

Nice... new costume releasing in a bit for your lovely animal... 2nd G though.
Amazon is showing an April 30th release for Unite. I'm day 1 on this....anyone else?
Depends for me. I absolutely hated the interface on the previous two games...and considering Phantasy Star Portable is coming out soon, i'm not sure if i need this game.
