Not to worry. If you wait long enough, this will be $10 in a a few months for the holiday.
damn. i bought this a few months ago when it was 29.99 thinking i was getting a good deal. i've barely even played it since then; i should have just waited. :dunce:
If I had the regular edition, will be save still work with this version (ie, will I still have all my unlocks and record here)?
And if you ask me, the D-pad on the PS3 controller is SOO much better for fighters. The PS3 version is definitely the one to get if you can.

BTW the 3D on Mortal Kombat was done very very well, and the intensity is also adjustable.
Best solution is to pick up one of the PDP MK Vita sticks that have sold dirt cheap recently, then you're not tied to the regular controllers. Much better than any regular controller and they look great too!
even if i buy it used, will i still get all the same contents for the complete edition?
Everything is on the disk except the download codes for the soundtrack and the original MK 1 movie.

I'm as cheap as the next guy (and then some) but why would you take a chance on a used copy just to save $1?

Personally I think used games at GameStop are the biggest racket since extended warranties on just about anything anywhere.

Picked up a copy from Gamestop today. Best Buy didn't have any in stock.
I'm not much of a fan of fighting games, but I'm a total sucker for any kind of Complete Edition.

So if i am following correctly, I can trade in my original version of PS3 Mortal Kombat for $14.00(actually $21.00 with 50% bonus) and price match against GS and get the Komplete edition for real real cheap(19.99+7% tax=$21.39)? Am i missing something?

Thanks OP and VoltronGuy for tipping off amazon to price match it. Just snagged a 360 copy. I bought a MK stick a few months ago just to play this game.
ps3 is matched as well but shows 2-3 weeks on delivery
Thanks, that's good to know. I'll probably still try to PM it at BB tonight, but if there's a problem, I'll just hop on Amazon.

Well this is very interesting. I already have the vanilla version. I also have the season pass so I have all the extra characters. I haven't played the game yet though and it's still buried in my backlog.
HOWEVER, the Amazon trade in value for the vanilla version is $18. So what I'm going to do is trade in my old game and pay $2 extra to get the extra stuff on disc instead of dlc. :)

Thanks OP

No new or used copies at either of my Gamestops. Didn't want it that bad, but I definitely would've contemplated a bit more if the option was there.
All the DLC is on the disc, correct? I already have an online pass.
Yes and it does not ise online pass anymore
I want this but I can't find a filler I want to buy to get FSSS and I don't feel like buying another game at the moment.
Thats a problem I run into all the time with Amazon. I can't stand they're damn $25 free shipping policy. I would order many more games from them if they'd just do free shipping like Best Buy and NewEgg.

....and please don't mention Prime. I am NOT spending $80 a year so I can get free shipping on the 5 or 6 games I get from them a year that don't total $25.
That isn't exactly "free" shipping.

Amen, Hallelujah. :applause::applause:

Just today sent Amazon my vanilla MK for a TIV of $19, then price-matched the Gamestop deal at Best Buy--Komplete for $19.99.

Funny that Amazon price matched so quickly--right about the time I cancelled my $29.99 Komplete order with them because I "found it cheaper somewhere else." :)
anybody know how much gamestop gives for a trade-in of the regular version (ps3)??
I did mine thru Amazon yesterday and got $19. Couldnt believe it.

The whole point of the $25 free shipping is to be incentive to order more than $25 per order. They don't want to lose money buy shipping a $3 used DVD for free and shipping costs $4. Maybe they lose some business from YOU, but as a whole, more people are spending more money.
Will wait for the inevitable $10 price point.
Same here. I would pay the $20 if I didn't already own the original at one point & have already bought the DLC characters. I'm still surprised the original version has held its value, I figured for sure I would have been able to pick it back up for $10 *somewhere* by now.

Sure I completely understand WHY they do it, I'm just saying I don't like it.
I like those companies that lose money on shipping.

LOL, that will never happen with gs. the only place that will sell a game below $10 is bestbuy , lmfao

One would've said the same three years ago when Arkham Asylum first came out.

If you have Netflix, you can think about getting Prime as I think Amazon Video is included. I have been thinking about it, from time to time.

It will cost no one $4 to mail a DVD. And, it may cost Amazon pennies to do it. Huge, major corporations have shipping packages and it costs them next to nothing to ship.
Submitted to Amazon for a price match.. fingers crossed.
Thank you good sir, was about to ask if somebody did this. Have some Amazon credit and i'm definetly jumping on this if they price match.

You serious? Its already been price matched for the last 5 hours.

Bought MK Complete at the beginning of Gamestock for 29.99 new and got my GS to price guarantee and refund me $10 which I put towards NCAA 13.

Snagged a copy for $14.99, when I used my $5 off any item coupon with it. Not a bad deal to stock up my back library.

How's this game just using the controller and not an arcade stick? Don't play enough fighting games to justify buying a stick so I'd be stuck playing with the controller.

Upgraded from normal edition to Komplete edition via Best Buy price match. Made about $1 profit via upgrade. Just wish I didn't buy the season pass for MK before! Ha. But now I get a movie, and retro skins! Not a bad deal. :D

thanks! dont need either of them

Should be fine, use the face buttons for high and low punch/kick and a shoulder button to block.

Is the dlc on disc?...i got a BB price match but there is a sticker on the case that says internet connection required for downloadable content...so i don't want to open until i know for sure.

The characters and costumes are on the disk. Codes are to download the soundtrack and the original MK movie.

I picked up my copy today, and I'm kind of disappointed. I guess I'm turning into a casual gamer because I got way to irritated with trying to pull off combos. I don't typically keep games around that I get irritated with. Pretty sure I'm trading this in to Bestbuy tomorrow for 22.40 in-store credit....
