Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe - Gen. Discussion & Info.

The heath ledger joker idea should be taken lightly. If you listened to the MKast he sounds like he pulled that comment out of his ass. I would be very surprised to see it, but they could use it as alternate attire. However i would love to see it.

As far as i know, he did leave to make Toa Fang. But they made it sound like he is only working on the comic that is included with the kollectors edition.
 
They should add Boon's eyebrows as Avatar content. Just imagine combining it with Raiden's eyes and Sonya's man-jaw. ;) :whistle2:#
 
I just saw the Captain Marvel render. The game has now been bumped up to a definite...rental. If only it wasn't being developed by the MK guys. I would really be excited. I'm a capcom guy.

Not sure if this might be a fatality or special move. Could this maybe hint at Aquaman being in the game?


Edit: just noticed the hook hand, so this might actually be Aquaman indeed.
 
It cant be a fatality could it? I thought Aquaman was a good guy but I have never really been that much into DC comics. It seems a little much for just a move but I guess it could be a buratlity.
 
If they are going for Hook Hand Aquaman, it seems like he will have Scorpion's Get Over Here move in his arsenal. It does kind of make sense though since normal Aquaman might be even more boring. It does seem weird though since I thought DC got rid of this version of Aquaman a while back.
 
I wish they did the 2003 Aquaman, where he was exiled from Atlantis and had that dope aqua-hand.
 
Interesting scene. I suppose Jaws just swallows the opponent? Now, it would be neat if Jaws chomped them to pieces, but DC superheroes are said to have brutalities not fatalities. Maybe Aquaman's finally had enough "queer" jokes? ;)
 
Midway has just released Jax's render:



also they released MKCast #5 and revealed the following:

1. The Joker's fatality may be ready in time for the event in Leipzig, Germany, next week.
2. A playthrough of the story mode is estimated to take two and a half to three hours, for each side
3. A large number of NPCs will appear in cameo roles in the story mode on both sides.
4. Every character will have their own ending in Arcade mode, represented by "paintings" that sound similar to MKDA and MKD's style of endings. It was said that many easter eggs will be given for both the MK and DC sides.
5. Every character will have their own unique fighting "style" and "stance".
 
I hope there is a story reason why they are tweaking the outfits to make them look like body armor pieces. Things like Flash wearing yellow gloves and Hal Jordan's black collar make me look at the some of these DC characters and know something is different from what they are supposed to look like and it starts to bug me. I wonder what tweaks they will be doing to Wonder Woman since it is pretty obvious she will be number 10 on the list.

Still if they decide to do more than 10 on each side and add Hawkman and Green Arrow, they will have every DC character I would want to play other then having Jesse Custer who would have the best Fatalities ever. An 70's/80's style Green Arrow with all his fun trick arrows could be enjoyable but I also fear for what tweaks we would see for their outfits.

I don't think they would allow it in a game though
 
I finally updated the OP with the High Red Render of Green Lantern and also with some new images, which show Kitana, Lui Kang, Green Lantern and the Joker in game.

Oh man...those new screens look good. Love how The Joker is smiling as he gets punched...just like in TDK, seems like it doesn't even phase him.

Yeah, He's one of my fav's.

The biggest surprise to me is the image of WW that we got so close to the GL one.

I'm a bit dissapointed by no Sinestro, but what can ya do.

Just hope the Anti Monitor is a boss.
 
I was not expecting Kano to be in the game at all. Now Im pretty sure Johnny Cage will end up being in the game as well. I was really hoping some of the newer characters would be in the game. At least 1 or 2.

Also GameSpot confirmed that there will be 22 characters and 11 arenas. So there are 4 more characters to be seen, plus the boss.
