Will do. XBOX Live is all P2P, so my guess is that I should have no prob playing with US gamers. This seems to be backed by what others with foreign games are stating on forums.

Worse comes to worse I'll dump it on eBay and take a loss, but IMO its worth the gamble to beat censorship! :)
 
Is there a list of how to do the fatalities? I hate not knowing how to do it. I am really enjoying the game, both story mode and arcade. Game plays very good for me and I have to play with the D-pad.

I just bought the a PAL version of Guitar Hero WT for $40 and it works fine plus I downloaded some songs and they worked without a problem.

I do also think you are correct in stating mostly all midway games are region free.

I was kind of excited when I was told that there was character specific endings. Until I read kotakus review. Heres the part that sucks

Character specific endings in Arcade mode consist of nothing more than a piece of character artwork with narration.

Oh I enjoyed MK back when it was good. I'm just letting people know what the reviews say to try and save them some money/disappointment. Everything I've said is just in the reviews. Dont blame me. Go spam the IGN forums or kotakus comment section. People should know what they are getting before they buy it. Just like the idiots on the gamefaqs boards who were told over and over that the Kollectors edition came with the game in a paper sleeve. Everyone who warned them was accused of being a troll. Then yesterday the board lit up with people saying "Omg game comes in paper sleeve waaaahhhhh bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" :-({|=:-({|=:-({|=

See the problem with that though is that if people are looking for impressions on the game, that's not hard to find. They could go to just about any message board or even check gamerankings or IGN's reviews to get game play impressions.

Right now though you haven't played the game, you just randomly take things from message boards to say that the game sucks, and that MK sucks even though you haven't even played the game.Henceforth your basically trolling.

Why would someone who is in the MK discussion thread not want to hear impressions of the game. Wanna logic that out for me? Also idk why people are saying I havent played the game. Check my gamercard. All of DCs story is completed along with some of the DC characters arcade modes. Henceforth stop being a fanboy.

You do realize that there are two story modes with numerous, fleshed-out cut scenes, correct?

I didnt when I wrote that but my point still stands. I do like the cutscenes of the story mode. A lot of the voice work is meh but the action is good. I was kind of disappointed that the action packed fight that takes place before the ending was just shown as a picture. I was excited to see something like the intro to shaolin monks. A nice big battle. Oh well. Dark Khan is pretty nasty as well. His death is odd. Do they ever explain why he dies the way he does? Ive only finished the DC storyline and I dont think they explained it there.

I personally think it's great. The game is slimmed down from the last gen MK games, no more mini-games or Krypt, but the game is the first one that feels like a sequel to the original Mortal Kombat games. I'm a fan of the series, even the dial-a-combo system of the last gen. But the fighting system in MK vs DC has more in common with the 2D games. It's like a mix of what was good about the originals, mixed with some new content and characters from the DC Universe.

Sure, fatalities are toned down, but people were upset about Armageddon's create-a-fatality system, so you'd think people would at least be sort of pleased by the return of character specific fatalities/brutalities.

It's a lot of fun if you were ever a MK fan. But I hope in the future they ditch the DC Universe and use the same fighting system to make a full scale MK game.

Good to hear. I will be picking this up today after work. The game looks great, and seems to play well too imo.

I am not surprised. Ever since they first got their hands on the game, they have seemed to love it.

It's similar to IGN loving the WWE Smackdown games or 1UP loving Motorstorm.
 
I will buy MK vs DC for $38 bucks used at GAmestop maybe $19.99 $59.99 LOL No Way especially when each character no matter if its Batman Superman or Sonia share 85 of their animations and movements with each other.

All kicks same all punches same, all close combat moves same all free fall combat same. all dizzy animations same, stun same. MIDWAY destroyed themselves by being the lazziest Dev in the world

a few girls that I know that are 100% zero gamers are asking me when I don't have it yet because they want to play as WonderWoman and Catwoman fighting Superman. And they urge me to go buy the game so they can play.


MK got a bad rap during the last 3 games because each character had 2 diff fighting styles. Like Escrima and Mua Thai, but regradless of the style picked It was always the same kick the same punch the same throw the same landing same death drop. MIDWAY went overboard cutting corners. But in a way coming from me having play MK 1 back when it first came out.

This game is great. Got to Chapter 3 on Story (DC) and played 11 matches of Online.
I LOVE the Joker/Jax.

There will be a yellow bar under your health bar with two sections on it. When one of the sections are full you block and press forward to do a Kombo breaker, like the previous games. If the bar is full you press both triggers to enter Rage mode.
 
I was going to skip it entirely but I'm a pretty big MK mark so I know I won't be able to resist forever. I'm all over this...once the price goes down. Just can't justify the 60 bucks for it right now. Glad to see mostly positive feedback though, I hope we get a straight-up MK sequel that builds on this now, rather than a sequel to MK vs. DC.
 
IF they start selling DLC characters I will definitely refuse to buy the game till its $9.99 used bargain bin. They can just prepare for the backlash.

besides Street Fighter 4 is around the corner, exactly how many people will be playing MK vs DC or any other fighter for that matter when SF4 comes out???

You mean like how SC4 sells Darth Vader, which just basically unlocks him off of the disk? What do you think DLC is for?

You are also just wrong about the same animations for Free Fall Kombat and Close Kombat, and in general. Some of the same uppercuts and sweep kicks are there between characters, but the animations for combos between characters are different. You might want to rent the game first so you can compare Joker's punches to Raiden's punches and then try and compare the animations between them.

Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter are two completely different fighting games.

If you don't like what you see of MK vs DC, and don't see the point of getting the game with SF4 around the corner, why bother posting in the thread at all?

MK is so past its prime it needed a "gimmic" like this DC tie in to have any chance

Secondly, I would welcome that. Im a huge comic book fan and a long time MK player and this fits both of my passions. Their Roster is already huge but it would awesome if they could add the likes of Black Canary,Green Arrow,Red Tornado,Martian Manhunter,Hawkgirl, and throw in some left out MK old schoolers like Johnny Cage and Reptile and ill pay for that.

I just rented this game to try it out...but its definitley going to warrant a purchase from me. Getting rid of the prior fighting system and making it normal again..makes the game flow so much better. Also the visuals and shear detail they put into all the characters amazed me. They just didnt half ass that like they did with armegeddon.

The Cut Scenes and thought out story line is nice. I like how they play off the DC multiverse with throwing the realms in to the mix. Im switching ISPs so when i get back up...ill surely welcome a match from someone...although i dont think im too good at this. superman ripped me a new one numerous times.

Oh for fucks sake. Here, since you cant understand how to check someones gamercard Ive added it to my sig. Feel free to give it a click and see that Ive beat absolutely everything except the god awful kombo challenges because the 360s dpad is shit. Is there anything else I can help you with?
