N64 game case project - live!

For all of your loose cartidges you can buy these cases for them and you download and print these covers off and put them in the sleeve. Its like dvd cases but they hold n64 cartridges and your printing the cover for them.
Oh god, where have you been!? Heh, j/k but seriously, thanks so much! This is exactly what is needed to get this thing back off the ground!

I see you even have South Park Rally so I can redo that horrible hand-made one I did.

Of course, the spines won't be right :( (unless you can scan spines in?) But still, much better than nothing!
Yes I do have them! I scan my images and save originals in PSD file just in case I need to re-work them. I have approx. 24Gigs of material on my back-up HDD. Chance is I may have it.

I will look for the file and will re-post here.

Why I have my site you ask. Well, I was very tired looking at poor quality video game covers, so I decided to start my own. Please spread the word, and let me get some exposure. Unlike any other sites, I fund this project/hobby of mine entirely myself and I do not ask for any donations. I will only do so if I start exceeding my storage and bandwidth limit. Please enjoy!

Visit www.GameScanner.org for over 7000 video game box art and cover scans!

Very nice site. Thanks for the time you spent scanning those in. Now my collection is complete I just need the spines for Knockout Kings, Wave Race and Turok.

Wow, thats awesome. How do I get them? And are they only for N64?

Must, resist, flaming, noob.

Look at the first page...
Cases

We are using the generic game cases from MediaShelving.com. They can be bought cheaply, but only in bulk (100 at a time). So, unless you have a ton of caseless N64/SNES/Genesis games, you will probably want to have one person buy them and then split the cost.

They can be found here. Make sure to get the ones with Full Sleeve (to put the cover in, of course).

Cases are scheduled for delivery today, so I will hopefully be able to get them packaged and ready before I leave tomorrow.

I've approximated shipping, I just added $3 to everyone's total for the cost of box plus shipping. Exceptions are: Demontooth, I added a dollar more for a bigger box; gwing00, you're sending a prepaid Fed Ex label, so I just figured $1.50 for the box; and RockinX, I believe you said you need it shipped to Venezuela, so I've PMed you about shipping costs. Everyone else, total prices are below.

08 - Backlash - $7.88
06 - ryan838 - $6.66
10 - RockinX - PMed
15 - Chargeup45 - $12.15
06 - s1eepinglionhart - $6.66
10 - gwing00 - $7.60
25 - Demontooth - $19.25

Paypal is prefered to [email protected]. If that's a problem for anyone, let me know. Otherwise, PM me when you make payment, and I plan to get them all shipped no later than December 3rd. Thanks!

Hi PRMega,

Question? What printer are you using and what is the quality of your prints???
Hi PRMega,

Not sure if you're aware, but I'm only selling the empty cases here, with no art or anything. Sadly, my printer isn't that impressive, and my prints don't come out all that well, otherwise I would include artwork.

I do have a question while I'm here though: what does everyone use to print these, program-wise? Trying to get the size right for both these and the GBA-DS project is a pain in the ass...and so is wading through these threads to see if it's already been brought up ;)

I print from Photoshop onto regular 11x14 (legal-size) paper.

I use photo quality paper. You can make your own game template in Photoshop, just measure te box as best as you can (milimiters - metric is more precise than inches). I use a $99 lexmark printer (configured properly) and you could be surprised at the quality you can get.

Or strike a deal with local print shop. I get 100prints (laser color) for $14.99.

Quick update:

Payments received from Backlash, Ryan838, Chargeup, and RockinX. Heading out for boxes tonight, and I'll let you know when they're shipped. Thanks!

WHAT? YOU MEAN I'M NOT BUYING CASES WITH ARTWORK???!!!??!!?!?!11!!

Just kidding, I make my own artwork so that they look like this:

I actually don't like them the way they are on the N64 case project, so I try to make my own covers.

You should have payment from me now too. :)

Thanks guys! I believe I have received payments from all but gwing00, so I should have them all shipped by the end of the week. I'll keep you posted!

Packages were all shipped out yesterday via USPS. Gwing, haven't received your label yet, but I'll ship once I get it. Should be 4-7 days for most packages, NY guys might be sooner. Thanks!

Thanks for doing this PRMega.

Doumo arigatou gozaimasu, PRMega. (Thank you very much)

Looks good!
One of mine is broke.
Sorry...I thought I packed them well enough. It wasn't till after I mailed them out that one of mine hit the floor and a corner shot across the room. Hope everyone else received theirs with no problems.

It's no big deal, I pitched it. I actually had the exact amount I needed after I pitched the one. They feel very flimsy though, I don't think it would take much for one to break.

Still nothing, doh. It's not an emergency though, cause I've already got cases for all the covers that have been made. We need more scans!

Edit: Got them last night! Thanks!

I just wanted to say that the Finished Covers link doesn't work for me. I also have a question. I have the box for Star Wars Rouge Squadren that you don't have a scan of. I noticed though that there is already of cover of that on snackbar. Is the scan list just out of date?

Yeah, the guy who was hosting the raw scans (and the list) has been kind of MIA. This project has kind of died since he and slash have gone, unfortunately.

I did find a scan for South Park Rally, so I'll try to make that cover once I get some time.

Just found the CAG forums, and more specifically found this thread. I will be having surgery and will need 4-6 weeks of projects, so this will be one of them! Just ordered 100 cases from mediashelving.com.

In the first post of this thread, there is a link to ukbeats.com for the finished scans which is no longer valid. Is there another link to go to for them besides Snackbar-Games?

Thanks, guys!!

Updated the OP. Right now scnackbar is the only place with finished covers, and we don't have the collection of raw scans. AFAIK, the ones we had that hadn't been turned into covers yet got lost :( Where are you slash?

Gamescanner.org is an awesome site, but the scans aren't formatted for the mediashelving.com cases.

Count me in to help out with this - sooner or later...

Merry Xmas Guys n Gals. I hope you all have a safe and happy break.

On a more N64 note..... even though I dont have access to mediashelving boxes ..... they dont ship to New Zealand :whistle2:( .....

I have taken Gamescanners [ Great site BTW ] Wave Race and Doom 64 pics and scanned my boxed spines to create covers for these. And also adjusted his Starcraft to create a box for that one.
Additionally, I have scanned my mint Buck Bumble PAL box and created a cover for that and have several others like Penny Racers and Top Gear Overdrive to do as well.

Where can I upload them though? Snackbar is dead in the water for me at present.

Cheers
Peter

Here's my first imageshack attempt....hope it works

Unfortunately I had to downsize it to get under the 1mb limit of imageshack....hence if anyone's hosting I could upload the 5.2mb file directly.

Anyways.... Let me know if it's what you guys want.

Here's one I haven't seen anywhere.

Note that it has stickers on the front from the Censorship Classification Board and distributor. I didn't want to remove them as they tend to take off the top layer.
Still....better than nothing until someone finds a pristine box

This one was up on Gamescanners. Just took a bit of tweaking to come up with

Last one for the nite....getting late here and I have kids getting me up early tomorrow...I wonder why? :D

I will hopefully get a chance to scan Penny Racers, Topgear Overdrive and Operation Winback in next day or so. Hoping to get 10 to 20 mint boxes soon ...fingers crossed that I can get some more up for you guys.

Here's Shadowman. I used Gamescanners front/rear and scanned my box spine to complete it.

Took a bit of editing on spine as box is creased. Also the rear of the box has a lot of marks on Gamescanners copy in the red blurb so I found an identical one on Amorines cover on Snackbar and pasted that one in for better consistency. Still a few little errors but as I dont have the plastic boxes I'll leave it to you guys to touch up as you desire.

Note the size on Imageshack is quite small to get it under 1mb. My original is 5mb.

This will be my last scan .... so I've left you with a reasonably difficult to find box.

I scanned my mint box and spent a heap of time editing the black to get it looking as good as possible for printing.

Hoping you guys have enjoyed my contributions to the effort.

All the best for the new year.

Why your last? You don't always have to work this hard all the time but can you atleast do it while your free or bored? btw you do great work. Upload them to www.snackbar-games.com/upload.php (think thats the link)

EDIT: links dead but I don't remember the upload link, someone else know it?

I think someone mentioned earlier Snackbar is dead re uploads otherwise I would've put them there.

If someone has an FTP server that everyone can get the files from I'm happy to upload the full size versions of the files there.

Why my last? Well ...... it takes time and effort to get these looking as good as possible. And until I can get the boxes myself the results are of no use to me.
I am trying to source them however so depending on whether I'm successful or not I may end up doing some more at that time. Never say never eh ......

What do I still have that hasn't been done yet?

Snowboarding Kids, Top Gear Overdrive, Hexen, Operation Winback, Pilotwings, Mission Impossible, Blast Corps, F1 World Grand Prix, Quake II, S.C.A.R.S ....

and am waiting on delivery of NHL Breakaway98, NFL Quarterback Club 98 & 99, NBA Jam 99, World Cup 98, Allstar Baseball 99 & Fighters Destiny.

So you may see those up at some point.
