There is just too much crap on TV these days not worth watching but if I had to pick one to cancel it would be American Idol. Seriously, do people really listen to this stuff? Even the tryouts where people suck sucks. Get it off the air!!!
 
I don't mind America Idol, actually. I'd much rather see Fear Factor go, as I think it's disgusting, but of course something would just pop up in its place.
 
Nah, I don't think any show needs to get cancelled, actually we need more shows. Look around briefly and I bet nearly every show made has some level of interest/fans. Now if we we're back in the day of 3 network channels I would agree with the arguement that stuff needs to be cancelled. But with all the channels available today (all trying to fill the time with anything--such as Law and order 15 times a day, or Seinfeld, or Charmed or whatever) there is no need to cancel anything.
 
I think networks need to put more thought into what's cancelled, I mean sometimes a show will have about 3 episodes which isn't even enough time to even create the first act of a story arc. Of course they need to be more creative too. To be honest, FOX may have the worst reputation of the big 4 but they are the most creative lately.

And personally I'd like to see alot of the reality shows get axed, especially the ones that are really just straight copycat reality shows.
 
off the top of my head...joan of arcadia cuz that girl bugs me,one tree hill,reba,gilmore girls,iron chef america, point pleasant, anything w/ racheal ray in it,summerland,fear factor is getting old,my wife and kids,upn all together,smallville,those damn clip shows on vh1,snl needs a funnier cast,um that show w/ john goodman,joey,majority of reality shows, um i cant think of anymore but any these show can be replaced w/ family guy
 
the whole reality thing is like the whole Game show buzz...I dunno how much i can see the same redundant ideas that are put on reality shows..How many different shows will have atleast 7 different people living together or competing for a cliche prize.No hockey doesnt help either for me atleast.

Agreed. If Fear Factor was just about the stunts it would be alright. I don't want to see supermodels eating horse anus on my TV.

reality tv shows would be the first to go. come on, if you are sooooo interested in watching real people doing real stunts... go out and live your own life, dammit.

Personally, I think the idiot box needs to be put out of its misery. The only reason to own a tv would be to play videogames on... love me some RPGs, and violent games because you just cant do that shit and get away with it in real life.

I mean, if you wanna watch some idiots who cant sing but think they can, go to a karaoke bar and laugh your ass off. If you wanna watch people eat some gross ass food, go to some third world countries, that is their normal diet.

Do you need people to tell you what is funny, sad, etc. That is what tv programing is, a way of controlling your thoughts and programming your mind to buy their BS.

Read a book or play videogames, and get some exercise. Keys to a better tomorrow... Just MY opinion.

See, I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I think all the shitty shows I wished were cancelled was replaced by a good show like Family Guy.
 
chappelle show, family guy, and futurama (well reruns anyways) can stay

ashlee simpson and that paris hilton show need to go everytime i see a commercial for their shows i feel like stabbing my eyes with a hot poker
 
I don't think it's just specific programs taht should be cancelled. I think it's specific television networks that should be cancelled. Which ones, you ask? Most of them. There's so much ridiculous, or stale, or cliche, or not-funny stuff on TV it's horrible.

Biggest offenders:
MTV
(this one is particularly offensive, it doesn't contribute anything positive to society. It's home to a variety of crap, and I belive the network itself was created by the governement as a grand conspiracy to keep the youth of america ignorant and repressed)
ABC
NBC
CBS
(those last three aren't particularly offensive, they just don't contribute anything. And they're home to many soap operas, which were all created by the government as a grand conspiracy to keep the housewives of america ignorant and repressed)
FOX
BET
(that last one is particularly offensive, and doesn't contribute anything positive. It's home to a bunch of stupid crap, the network itself was created by the government to keep the black population of the country ignorant and repressed)

They need to put shows on where people get hurt and/or killed. Now that shit would be #1. Kinda like a Battle Royale meets Survivor show. Who is with me on this.

I agree on that one too ... I also hate Growing Up Gotti or whatever. That show is such crap, and I hate the teenagers on that show.

I think people will stop watching that ashlee simpson show after the orange bowl tebacle. i mean over 50,000 people booing her with a feint YOU SUCK will not get you ratings. I just wonder when the reality craze will die down..what will the general public want to start watching then?

All of the shows about fat ppl on Fox. If anything signals a "food and sex orgy" downfall akin to that of the Roman Empire, these shows are it.

Glutton Bowl, Biggest Loser, I'm looking at you.

The Parkers on UPN and all this other fat acceptance crap on 20/20 also piss me off.

Bottom line: More sex less fat.

i seriously want to know whats so special about 24 it looks just like a live version of splinter cell but there's no stealth and splinter cell seems better in my opinion

I stand by my original statement. I weep when I think of all the good shows Fox has cancelled (Futurama, Wonderfalls, Andy Richter) and yet they bring back so-painfully-unfunny-I-want-to-gouge-out-my-own-eyes-Event-Horizon-style Family Guy.

you ever given it a chance? i didn't really see what was so good bout it either then i was able to get season 1 for 15 bucks so i checked it out , and i was watching it in 7 hour chunks, going to work was horrible that week.

To each his or her own, I don't personally like Arrested Development, but you don't see me calling for it's cancellation.
