I havent really been into PC games for a while. I was really into some PS2 games. And now that The Sims 2, and Half-Life 2 are coming up, I want to get back into PC games. So, can you guys name some PC games that are worth playing. Thanks in advance.
I don't quite get it. Are you looking for newer ones or older ones, or both?
Something in the past the past 8 years. I just picked my oldest PC game, and it came out 8 years ago so I will start from there.

Quest for Glory Anthology (The "anthology" might just skeet in to the 8 year time line)

Star Wars Rebellion
Star Wars Jedi Knight
Diablo
Diablo II
Daggerfall
Fallout
Fallout 2
Starcraft
Monkey Island Series
Civilization III

Well my computer sucks so I'm usually stuck with the games that don't require updates and high-end graphics, which means a lot of RPG and RTS games.

Off hand I'd suggest:

Baulder's Gate I & II
Neverwinter Nights
Rise of Nations
C & C Generals
Diablo II
Age of Empires 2
Age of Mythology
Civilization III
Homeworld
Black & White
Warcraft III

Pick up the Vault of Darkness (5 games in 1). That pack is greatness, its got Alice, 2 Draculas, Dungeon Keeper 2, and Undying.

Call of Duty, the original Half life, Doom 3, Far Cry, Age of Empires 2, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, UT2K4, Jedi Outcast and Academy, Batlefield 1942 and Vietnam, Deus Ex.

Hell, just look at my sig, it's easier.

Silent Storm, Majesty, UT2K4, Half Life, Far Cry, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Civilization 3, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, and Simcity 4.

Fallout
Fallout 2
Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic
No One Lives Forever
No One Lives Forever 2
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2004
XIII (no, really!)
Sacred
Master of Orion 2

Also all the old Lucas Arts adventures

half life and all the mods. CS especcially, you dont even need the cd to play. just find a cdkey.

unreal 2004, diablo 2 =], doom 3 =]. call of duty, starcraft.. warcraft 3. anything popular is fun. but try out different genres of PC games. see which is more fun

Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 + expansions
Neverwinter Nights + expansions
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Unreal Tournment 2004
Rise of Nations + expansion

Clive Barker's Undying
System Shock 2
Planescape Torment
Fallout 1+2
Far Cry
Jedi Knight II and/or Jedi Academy
Sim City 4
Unreal Tournament 2004

Edit: and for the love of god, Deus Ex and Anachronox.
if you are into adventure games........Grim Fandango, Longest Journey, and Missing: Since January
I second Grim Fandango if you're into that type of game. I'm still amazed by its brilliance to this day.

I haven't seen this for a while, but one EA games bundle included Freedom Force, a need for speed game, a command and conquer game, and Earth and Beyond for less than the price of your morning cup of coffee (If you like coffee that's $20)

Also if you can please tell us the genres that you like. I've seen some great games, but it would really help if we knew just what to look for.

I like playing most types of games. I just don't want any MMORPG's. That might narrow it down a tiny bit.

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (very soild FPS)

Star Trek Bridge Commander (sort of a command simulator, very good, not found in a lot of stores anymore though)

Freedom Force (fun comic book game)

No One Lives Forever and its sequel NOLF 2 (you may luck out and find these for $3.99 at your local Toys R Us)

StarLancer (great space shooter, can usually be found dirt cheap)
