NCAA Online Dynasty

Pats are without Brady and Wilfork, so it should be a slam dunk. I was bored the other night so looked through the league for major injuries.

Finished up my weekly stuff, I don't remember if I set it to advance but go ahead and do it whenever you finish up.

Ravens accepted my trade offer for RG Yanda, who they had on the trade block. I had traded a T I had playing G, so this fills a hole. After its all said and done, I only am out a 4th rounder to get Yanda. He has 2 yrs/12m left on his deal. He is a nice upgrade for my line, so well worth it.

Beat the Redskins, 35-14. It was a lot closer than that. I was only up by a TD with a few minutes to go and they let me run it in to get the ball back. They turned the ball over and it led to another score to pad the total. EJ was terrible, 2 TD, 1 INT but under 50% completion. They were in his face all day and forced some bad plays. Spiller saved the day with another 100 yard performance and 2 TDs.

Played NCAA and won a real close one against UNLV 28-21. I scored with 17 seconds left. They returned the kick for field position and hit a couple bombs. They're on the 4 yard line with 4 seconds left and my star DE sacks the QB for his NCAA record tying 6th of the game!

24-17 win for me as well, over rival Iowa St.. scored the winning TD with ten seconds left after a nice run by my hb Bullock to the 1 yard line. I milked the clock down before punching it in.

Ugly win, but I will take it. My team this year is in trouble though.

Threw a pick in OT and lost to Maryland by 3. I'm so mad at myself for trying to make that pass. Should've played it safe and kicked. 34-31

Huh, That is messed up.

Beat N Texas 35-7. Benched my senior starting QB to try to jump start the offense. He had 0 TDs and 6 INTs after two games. I went with my third string SO QB, who is noticeably worse ratings wise but I needed something new.

First three scores were all passes and he did not turn the ball over, so it was a good start to the experiment. It also finally opened up the running game, which went for 200 yards. It all was against North Texas, so we are not convinced things are better yet.

Good win. I'm interested to see what happens with your QB situation. I have an upperclassman QB rated I think 91, a freshman rated 87(?) and then another freshman rated 84 or so, and I think it's the worst guy that I've been starting because he also has the highest throw power (96) and accuracy a round 90 or 91. Overall is the least but where it counts he's got the most. And if he's at those numbers as a freshman, he may just be the next Andrew Luck.

I don't know if you guys talk general Madden stuff here, but I just had the craziest game of my short Madden career.

The game is tied 14-14, and I turn the ball over on downs with 55 seconds left in the game. The dude marches up the field and gets within field goal range. 6 seconds left, he lines up to take a 20 yard field goal, and I'm convinced the game is over. By mistake, I pick the punt return defense. Well, his field goal ends up being short somehow, and drops right into my returner's hands. Awesome, at least we'll go to OT!

Well I figured I'd give it a shot, and I ended up running it back the entire length of the field to score. I couldn't even believe it, and I'm sure the guy I was playing against was probably pissed. It was so obvious he was a million times better than me, and I was just getting lucky the whole game...including that last play.

But now I won, and I got my MUT team a spot in the playoffs! Woo!

So they have a MUT playoff system? That's pretty cool. Maybe I should check that out. I usually grab the free players when they make them available but never really do anything with it.

MUT season are 10 games. If you win five, you get into the "playoffs" and if you win eight you get a first round bye. Games go super fast, four minute quarters with an accelerated clock. If you're good at managing the clock, you can keep the ball out of your opponent's hands for an entire half.

I did pretty shitty my first season. I won my first game, and then lost like five in a row. I had another win, but it was due to my opponent losing connection. Then I lost my sixth game, and they started a new season on me. If you lose six games, and are out of the playoffs, they just end the season. Playoff games I think are just the same as regular season where you're just matched up against a random person. No bracket or playoff tree or anything.

This season, I lost my first two games, but finally had enough coins to get a decent QB. After that, I've won five in a row against decent opponents and I don't throw interceptions every time I putt he ball in the air.

Don't ever buy packs of cards. Save your coins and get the players you want from the auction house. For the price of a gold pack (7500 coins) I got a 93 overall Matt Ryan. If I bought the pack, I would have ended up with probably 10 80-85 overall players. At least this way I got what I needed without the BS.

Cool. So what team do you want in the league? We both are in the AFC East, so the Pats would be a decent choice for you..though Brady is hurt.

You're welcome to join Desmond. Basically, our only rule is to have some code of honor and not restart games because you were losing or because one of your players for hurt. I think that's about it, right yanks?

I don't really understand mut. Aren't there multiple Matt Ryan's for example? Like you could get a pack of cards with a 70 rated Matt and anther pack had a 93 rated one? What's really the point of getting Matt Ryan if he's really just some generic player who sometimes is good and sometimes isn't. Am I missing something?

How do I join the league?

And MUT has several cards for each player, with different overall rankings. So a 93 rated player has better attributes than an 80 rated player. An 80 rated Matt Ryan might be a card from his rookie year, or even from training camp. The 93 I have, I think is a Falcons playoffs card. But that 80 rated card might just be a regular card, and then you have tiers for bronze, silver, gold, and elite cards. Bronze and silver are low to mid 80s, gold is high 80s to low 90s, and elites are always like 96-99.

There's a lot going on with it, but long story short, there are multiple cards for each player, and they can be rated differently.

21-0 win over the Chargers. Taj Boyd a decent 265, one TD passing and another running, but two red zone picks. By the way professor, we are in year 2 and the NCAA draft class was imported over.

Damn, pitched a shutout, well done. I looked and our first game isn't until Week 10. I need to get my revenge. My Bills have been rolling over the competition starting with the playoffs last year.

@ Captain

If you don't want the Pats or Fins, it might be cool if you take a NFC team, so we have the potential of a human (us) vs subhuman (you & all of RedSoxNation) matchup.

The advantage of choosing NE or Miami is that you would play both CC and myself twice a year since we all would be in the same division. Anyone else you choose in the league would not guarantee a matchup with either of us at any point.

So I picked the Pats. And I didn't realize the league was All-Madden difficulty. Very first play of the game, I kick it off and this Raiders dude runs it all the way back. So that was sweet. I came back, but ended up failing on my game tying drive and lost 20-27.

Hope you guys weren't expecting some heavy competition.

No worries there. You'll adjust to the curve. I was 8-8 in our first season, hence why I dumped Geno Smith and threaded up for Tahj Boyd from Clemson. Now I've adjusted and I'm 4-2 this season this far.

On the bright side, if you suck this year, you'll be in line for Manziel, Bridgewater, Clowney and a lot of other monsters that declared this year for the NFL but stayed an extra year in our game. Go to the scouting menu to see all the talent that'll be available. As you'll also see from our teams, it's easy to build in the offseason -- Jets picked up Sam Shields, Charles Woodson, Bruce Irvin (via trade) and more.

Considering the injuries on the Pats and adjusting to All Madden, that's not a bad start..esp with giving up a return.

I'll be playing my game tonight.

I really thought I was going to send that game to OT too. I think my injury report said Brady was only out for 1 game, so would that mean I'll get him back for the next one?

Meanwhile, I just got matched up against this guy in my MUT Wildcard game, and I got super lucky. He scored first within 30 seconds, and he was just a power house on offense that first drive. He kicks the ball off and I run it back to score, and it almost seemed as if he was barely trying. Then his next offensive set, he runs my kickoff back to the 45. His first pass, I intercept and run it back for a TD. Then deja vu, and the exact same thing happens on the next set. By the half, I was up 21-7 and never had my offense out on the field. He just quit the game. I would've had the ball after the half, and had a large enough lead to run down the clock.

Edit: Aw man, out of the playoffs after some jerk just started playing like a real ahole.

By the way captain, it says all madden but it really isn't. We started on all madden and it was cheap as could be. Our CBs would literally keep running ten yards downfield when the CPU WR curled, and their RBs were running for 200 yards every other game. We took all madden and turned our sliders to regular all pro level and then just upped the cpu's abilities - as opposed to normal all madden where the CPU has regular all pro level sliders and then ours were all at 0. It was like we were the Little Giants playing against Peyton Manning. And the annexation of Puerto Rico was nowhere to be found in our playbooks.

I may play another tonight too. Captain, when you finish your games, set it to "ready". When the third person hits ready each week it advances, which is more ideal than having to wait for me to advance it each time.

31-21 over the Eagles who were 5-1 going into the game. Jets now 5-2. How the eagles are 5-2 with Pat White as their QB is a total mystery.

Nice win. I can't believe Pat White is even in the league. The Fins probably wish they still had him after Tannehill's game. He completed about 40% of his passes for less than 100 yards and 4 picks.

EJ, on the other hand, was lights out. 72%, 250 yards, 4 TDs and 0 picks. Spiller went for 160 and a pair of TDs and we rolled over Miami 52-10.

It's Week 8 boys, league is advanced.

EJ is unbelievably good right now. I'll be playing another today I'm sure. Now that we have captain you want to focus on Madden? We could still sim NCAA if you want to go that route so that we could import the draft class.

I want to try to keep up with NCAA for as long as we can, but if it is becoming too much for you to handle, I can try to keep up with 3 games a week if you want to leave the league as coach. I am too invested to want to turn it over if we can avoid it and think I can keep up at the rate we can move in Madden. If not, I will sim as well.

I'm happy to keep going with NCAA too. Just was considering that and figured i would see what you thought. Am I up in NCAA?

Yea, you are up for NCAA.

I beat the Texans, 35-13. They got their sole TD on a hail mary to end the game, but otherwise, didn't do too much. I didn't either, stat wise, other than another 2 TD, 100+ yards for CJ.

I got wrecked by the Redskins. Tom threw 2 TDs and had 350 yards in his return, but also had 4 interceptions. Every one of them was either in the end zone, or within 5 yards. And I just can't play defense.

Dumb question, are you guys using the right stick to tackle, or the square button? I've tried both, and usually I just bounce off the ball carrier without tackling them, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong.

If it makes you feel better, I won my first MUT game.
I love my MUT group. Although I made a stupid call and wasted like 4000 coins to get Ray Rice and realized that I never run the ball.

Also, it says you're 4-0 in MUT. So I guess you won more than your first game.

I just won my 2nd game. I think the other two must have come from either a carry over from last year's, or playing the solo shit that I did when the game first came out.

This is my first time playing the season, 2-0 in that.

I was about to play madden when I saw yanks playing the lightning returns demo. I'm going to check that out and then play my game so we can advance again.

Oh and I use a combo of stick and square. I miss a lot using the stick so square is for safe tackles. A lot of times I run into the ball carrier and then when I stand him up I push the stick to trow my weight. I have no idea if this actually works but it seems to.
