Well Nintendo has closed my account(s) and won't reinstate them even though I've not abused them in ages as I don't try to earn rewards anymore. I admit I had multiple accounts but the activity wasn't a lot. Let this be a warning to anyone with sub accounts / fake accounts.

I had 7 accounts with plat status w/ thousands of points (maybe over/around 10k total). They closed all of them (including my oldest one - one I ordered the Kirby medal with) except one (the one with most points on it currently).
Still got a plat cards send notice on that one I have left. I've been able to get multiple gold nunchucks already and have not tried to reinstate them and I'm fine with it. I oly regret not using all of my points on the nunchucks when I had the chance the 1st time they were available and not getting plat when they had the mario hat and statue, would have wanted that.
No, I think CN got smart this time around when they were trying to figure out a way to ship this years plat prize and maybe that was why it took so long. They may needed the time to weed out the multiple same addresses. I noticed a mode on here that said one of his 2 accounts was closed also.
They always stated one way or another that the North American CN program was expensive to maintain b/c of shipping products and stuff (BS or not, that was their excuse) and they probably closed a bunch of accounts with the same addys to lessen the overhead cost for the yearly prizes.

Did either of you use the same names or emails with the accounts? If not, why wouldn't Nintendo think that it is possible for separate independent people in the same household to have Nintendo consoles?
Ditto! I have roommates who are also in the club. We all have our own games/consoles. I don't want my account to get cancelled because of this.
I had 2 accounts closed. One was my main account from way, way back in the Gamecube days. The second I just started up (for my daughter) this year when they were going to drop all those points values in June. I figured we might as well get a second platinum reward and not let those points go to waste. I mean, we are a household of 7 with lots of Nintendo products (including 2 3DS's) so having a couple of accounts is not out of line... So I emailed them and they called me back in a couple of days. After talking with me, they reinstated my main account since it was such a long-standing one. But, basically the issue was that I had a sub-account on my account that also used my daughter's name. I had completely forgotten about that when I made her new account. I mean, really, she's nearly grown up now - so it is valid for her not to have a sub-account any more. But since I used the same name and maybe even email (not sure) I think that red-flagged it.
In any case, I only lost the 600 coins from her account and didn't even push the issue asking to get that one reinstated. I was just so relieved to have my main account with all its history restored. The rep even reordered the Platinum reward for me and I got the cards a few days ago.
It seems like they are wary about multiple accounts per address - but that is not against their rules, apparently (ie, it is not one per household). But when that comes up they investigate further to see if they seem to be the same person. But closing accounts without contacting people seems a little harsh.
