NEW CAG Club Nintendo U (I2B - WWHD; See 1st Post for New Info)

I should post this in the wii mini thread but since we were have a "mini-discussion" pun intended;). engadget has a nice little review and the answer to the os itself,

When Nintendo said it had pulled internet access, it wasn't kidding; the only three channels are the disc, the Mii tool and a manual for the menus. Dive into the settings and options like internet or WiiConnect24 are gone altogether. If you buy this cheapest of Nintendo machines, there's no upgrading after the fact if you have a sudden craving for Netflix.

Well I won't be buying one even for a "collectible". Still looks sexy at least. Like the crimson red and black ds lite a few years back.

Got my platinum cards the other day. I too was not impressed the way they were packed. It was literally a plastic bag, not even a padded envelope. Still considering I got lucky that they arrived in I say almost mint or near mint condition. Not sure if I want to keep them though, wasn't really keen on any of any the platinum/gold gifts. Figured I had to pick one, may as well get something psychical and these would be better than the posters.

If anyone is up for a trade, shoot me an offer.
Well Nintendo has closed my account(s) and won't reinstate them even though I've not abused them in ages as I don't try to earn rewards anymore. I admit I had multiple accounts but the activity wasn't a lot. Let this be a warning to anyone with sub accounts / fake accounts.

I had 7 accounts with plat status w/ thousands of points (maybe over/around 10k total). They closed all of them (including my oldest one - one I ordered the Kirby medal with) except one (the one with most points on it currently).

Still got a plat cards send notice on that one I have left. I've been able to get multiple gold nunchucks already and have not tried to reinstate them and I'm fine with it. I oly regret not using all of my points on the nunchucks when I had the chance the 1st time they were available and not getting plat when they had the mario hat and statue, would have wanted that.

No, I think CN got smart this time around when they were trying to figure out a way to ship this years plat prize and maybe that was why it took so long. They may needed the time to weed out the multiple same addresses. I noticed a mode on here that said one of his 2 accounts was closed also.

They always stated one way or another that the North American CN program was expensive to maintain b/c of shipping products and stuff (BS or not, that was their excuse) and they probably closed a bunch of accounts with the same addys to lessen the overhead cost for the yearly prizes.

Did either of you use the same names or emails with the accounts? If not, why wouldn't Nintendo think that it is possible for separate independent people in the same household to have Nintendo consoles?

Ditto! I have roommates who are also in the club. We all have our own games/consoles. I don't want my account to get cancelled because of this.
I had 2 accounts closed. One was my main account from way, way back in the Gamecube days. The second I just started up (for my daughter) this year when they were going to drop all those points values in June. I figured we might as well get a second platinum reward and not let those points go to waste. I mean, we are a household of 7 with lots of Nintendo products (including 2 3DS's) so having a couple of accounts is not out of line... So I emailed them and they called me back in a couple of days. After talking with me, they reinstated my main account since it was such a long-standing one. But, basically the issue was that I had a sub-account on my account that also used my daughter's name. I had completely forgotten about that when I made her new account. I mean, really, she's nearly grown up now - so it is valid for her not to have a sub-account any more. But since I used the same name and maybe even email (not sure) I think that red-flagged it.

In any case, I only lost the 600 coins from her account and didn't even push the issue asking to get that one reinstated. I was just so relieved to have my main account with all its history restored. The rep even reordered the Platinum reward for me and I got the cards a few days ago.

It seems like they are wary about multiple accounts per address - but that is not against their rules, apparently (ie, it is not one per household). But when that comes up they investigate further to see if they seem to be the same person. But closing accounts without contacting people seems a little harsh.
Got my platinum card set. Box is all torn up, and the cards look okay. At this rate, I expect next year's platinum reward to be a set of stamps.
My box was also destroyed. VERY miffed. Makes this pretty uncollectable...

So I called Nintendo, and they said they would replace them, IF I mailed the cards back. Seriously? Couldnt I just send you a custom picture with my name, and showing that the box was smashed AND ripped? Now they want me to pay shipping to send these back, with the hopes that if nintendo ships out new cards, the box wont be destroyed when I get them again? I dont know what to do...

Last years club N platinum reward was sooo much better. These cards are cool, but the box is so beat, it kind of makes me want to NOT show them off to people, OR put them in my "nintendo collectable display case". Which sucks for sure.

Just have the cards out of the box and faned out

Heh - got the Kirby medal today. I thought those hadn't even shipped yet from my casual reading of this thread. I ordered that so long ago - did we pay points for those?

Got my posters yesterday. Sadly the box had a dent and all three are bent out of shape in a straight line going down the center of the posters. I think somebody used the box as a bat. I just emailed Nintendo about it and within 10 minutes got a confirmation for a club Nintendo reward order and after another 10 minutes got an email saying they will reship them. I was disappointed when I opened them up but I am happy they are going to resend them. Hands down the best free rewards program I am a part of.

Mine shipped earlier this week, so everyone should be getting them any day now.

I believe the Kirby medal was 600 coins.

Check your kirby medal shipping order status with the number in the title of your email. Under repair/part do part. Look at the price Nintendo has this thing for.

Again, this was 600 coins.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I just registered a copy of Nintendogs 3DS (Toy Poodle) and it went through, but with a message that it was not eligible for surveys/points. But it's clearly in the eligible list. I've contacted NOA for help; just wondering about others' experiences with this sort of thing.

I haven't had this happen yet, does the game show up under your registered products? Also, was this the first copy of Nintendogs you have registered under your account (not sure if other variants (French Bulldog or Golden Retriever) cancel out the coins or not)?
Is 1080 Snowboarding worth 150 coins? I think I remember that being an N64 game.
Heh, just barely beat out my post. I would say at the time, competing with the Playstation Cool Boarders series, it was a very polished game that was alot of fun with two players.

Nowadays there are better options, I would say only really worth it for nostalgia's sake.

Thanks. I've got 500 and some odd coins. Truth be told, I've got 7 virtual console games now and have no intention of playing any of them. I'm getting them so my kids have tons of (free for me) stuff to play when they get a little older.

Nintendo's site must be really screwed up. The game suddenly showed up in my to-do list (product registration survey). BUT I can't complete it - more precisely, when I do complete it, my number of coins stays the same and the survey remains for me to take.

Yes, this was my first copy of Nintendogs, of any variant, although I am sure each one counts as a different game.

UPDATE: Finally was able to complete the survey. No idea why any of these errors occurred.

My Kirby medal box came damaged :[ Doubt I'll be able to get any sort of replacement. Why ship in a bubble mailer?

Edit: Called Nintendo, getting a replacement :] They told me they have about 20 held for replacements just in case anyone else here gets a damaged one.
Thanks for the video, it looks a LOT bigger than they listed it as.
This is true, that's exactly what I thought after I opened mine up today. I thought I remembered them listing it as 1" x 1", but it looks a bit closer to 2" x 2".

Same here. After reading last night that needler said it was tiny, I was pleasantly surprised when I got mine today.

There are a ton of people who would gladly take one with just a slightly crushed box. I would think they would be more selective on sending out replacements given how limited this was.

Besides asking him to send the messed up one back or taking a picture what else can be done?

It's not like you can just call Nintendo and make a claim if you never redeemed the product from the start.

Out of the 1,000 made you can probably expect a few damage/lost packages . If you wanted to be real deceitful you could lie to Nintendo and I'm sure they'd send you a replacement.

Not that I would do that either. Nintendo is going to wonder if you ever have lost or damaged more then one product therefore it's best you don't cry wolf.

I guarantee you they will send him a replacement and let him keep the old one. Though if he has a problem with club Nintendo again in the future he might get stuck with a damaged/lost product.
If I was shipping something that someone got from me for free, I'd ship in a bubble mailer too.

Just saying.
But it's not free per say... you need to buy stuff to afford these loyalty rewards and they try to use the surveys to improve their company.

Oh boy... This discussion again?

New (kinda, repeats) CN game rewards, all pretty self explanatory, all 150 coins, and all available until January 6th (1080 carried over from last update).

I think this is the first time for Twinbee.

In my case, since its a 3D classic, that makes it a an automatic purchase.

Is this the same Detana Twinbee game for TG-16 that you can buy from the Virtual Console service? The only thing different being 3D graphics? Might just get Metroid II and Mario Party 2 if that's the case.

Oh man, I wish N64 games were VC on 3DS. I'd play the crap outta MP2 (it'd be even cooler if they did multiplayer wirelessly, but I'd not hold my breath for that) if it was on 3DS

Does anyone know if the Wii U demos of Rayman and Sonic Racers will have a post-play survey like the Wii demos did? Or if downloading the Netflix/Amazon/etc. apps will get you a PPP?

Wii demos have post play surveys???

Missed out on Mario Party 2 the first time so I'm going to pick it up this time. The original game was such a blast, even if it was hard on controllers and even harder on hands. Not sure if I ever played 2 but I'm looking forward to playing with some friends.
