God I hope I work on Sunday Morning so I can tell those jack-offs "Sorry, only _ per person!" -- I think I am going to hide the Baten Kaitos (we have 4) and then just give out one per person to who ever asks me.
 
hey sorry i guess it is just my circuit city. I went in today and he said some will come with the headset, and some circuit citys wont.

Most of these games sell on Ebay for less than $10, except for maybe one or two titles... only one I see being profitable is Baten Kaitos.

You guys need to stop thinking hoarders are going to ransack this sale, I highly doubt it this year.

Plus, if anyone really wanted to grab these games to sell, they would have picked them up from the stores who haven't already put them in the back, like my store, and others around here, and then just price adjusted them come Sunday.

Yep, that's the deal. Sunday is when the sale starts, so if you want any of these games, that's the day to be there.

Go down to CC and ask an employee about the games you want. Ask if they have it in stock. If they do, he'll probably mention that its in the back because of the sale. Just say you want to buy the games now. I can't see them saying no to this when you're willing to pay a higher price. Then just go back on sunday morning and do a price match at customer service.

People will not buy a cheap game seperate for a high price (I hope), but they will buy a lot of games for a high price, even if most of the games can be found for under $10, and the other games aren't any good.
 
I went yesterday and hid away what was apparently the last copy of Ridge Racer DS. I didn't see much else off the list but RR is the only game I really want from this sale anyway.
 
I went into a CC today to see if they had a game in stock, rep told me they didn't, but if they did it would be on sale for $9.99 tomorrow, meaning Saturday, so does the sale start Sat or Sun. I know, as I'm writing this it's really Sat morning, but U guys get the point.
 
Hey I just got the weekend CC flyer in the newspaper. Surprisingly, there is only a little maybe 2x4 blurb about the game 9.99 sale. The only games they have listed are Cabella's Big Game Hunter PS2, Bad Boys Miami Takedown PS2, Mustang Racing PS2/XBX,Corvette PS2, Tetris Worlds GBA, and Disney Princesses GBA. These games arent even on the list!

They can't list every game in the flyer. The ad states "These games and more". The rest of the list is the "more".
 
Limit 3 per TITLE per customer. Also, guessed, the games pictured arent on the list. And why would CC picture not very popular games instead of ones that are new and will sell like Project Snowblind for example.

Because people will buy the crappy games the first week who don't know about the list, and they can put out more popular games in the ad next week.

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. I think most or all of the games pictured are part of the "Value" programs that are on the list (although there is not a GBA Value program listed). As to why they show crap games instead of good ones, I'm going to have to go with "because they are idiots". If this sale hadn't been so widely publicized on all the forums, it would have worked to our advantage.
 
Last pass today at two different CC's.

My "normal" CC of choice hadn't done anything with the games. Yet. Then again, it was 10:30, so who knows.

The other CC I went to (at 11AM) was actively pulling games off the list, with the list in question, when I was there, though some of the games in question were in the dump bin, like they were yesterday.

Not because they are idiots.

Most stores probably have TONS of copies of the crappy games posted in the ad. This way, showing those with the heading "and more" won't get them in trouble come Sunday since they are guaranteed to have stock of those games.

If they showed say, Project Snowblind, and each store only had 2 or 3 copies, that shit will be gone by early Sunday, so the people coming in after that are screwed and get all pissy with CC.

But if they show horrible games they KNOW will be there, they're safe.
 
After reading reviews and checking out aggregate scores, I've comprised a list of what I hope to get at this year's sale. Here we go:

Topping my list we have PoP 2 (GC)
2. Rallisport 2 (Xbox)
3. F-Zero GX (GC)
4. Amplitude (PS2)
5. Silent Hill 3 (PS2)
6. Thief 3: Deadly Shadows (Xbox)
7. Project Snowblind (PS2)
8. Monster Rancher 3 (PS2)
9. Gladius (PS2)
And last but not least Psi-Ops (PS2). I would much rather get the Xbox version but it was not listed as part of the sale.

*MVP Baseball 2004
*Tiger Woods 2004
*These I will buy as consolation should I not find everything on my list of ten.

A lot of the other great titles on sale I already own, Baten Kaitos for example. Paid twenty bucks for it when Game Crazy had it on sale, well worth it though. It would have top my list.
 
Three per person? That's great and all, but most stores only have, like, six of each game in (if that). So I think the limit is pointless. It should be one per person.
 
Why oh why not $5 like last year...SIGH. I might pick up P:Snowblind and BK for the cube...but im not sure now. I went to check it out today, they were pulled, but didnt feel like asking if those two were in stock/how many.

I was just thinking this.

The local store here only had 2 copies of Snowblind after I bought mine, that limit isn't going to stop anyone.
 
Is it 3 total 9.99 games per person? If that is the case it will stop the hoarders from taking all the games.

after reading this this got me wondering if there's stuff missing on the list... like alot of other games... My CC has a load of Tetris Worlds for GBA... but... what if there are titles even us CAGs don't know about... hope there's more!

It varies. Go to www.circuitcity.com, then click on the store locator in the upper right corner, and enter the info to find the store you would go to. Then click the details and directions linnk, and it should tell the store hours.
 
A friend of mine is holding the three I want that works at CC.. Baiten Kaitos, Project Snowblind (I traded it in, but want it back), and Rainbow Six 3. They pulled every game from the shelves this week, and they're putting them in a dump bin in the morning. There's alot of closet CAG's around Montgomery.. she told me that she's seen at least 4 kids during the course of the week with a list in their hand with the Cheap Ass Gamer logo at the top.

This way, I go pick up the three I want, then head to the grandparents for a BBQ feast. But if anybody is around here and interested, according to my "home skillet" at my local CC.. there's at least one (in most cases about 4) per title on the list.

jeeze... I don't see this deal getting as big as the $5 deal of about a year ago, but I hope that those guys witht he list were actual CAGs... not kids from FatWallet or GameFAQs... *shudder*

If they are, they never post here. Most of them that get their hands on lists around here are hoarders. I've seen kids buying up the most copies of hard-to-find games as possible to sell or trade. I remember the Toys R Us green tag, and seeing some huge woman in a mu-mu filling up her buggy with everything possible.

To the best of my knowledge, there's more rednecks with "get rich quick with Ebay and Fatwallet" schemes swimming through their heads than actual CAG's.

But why would they list THOSE games? Someone else mentioned those aren't even on the list we've seen. Even if they were, those are some of the worst titles in the sale. Why wouldn't they list Project Snowblind, NFL Street, PoP2, and some of the other titles people might actually care about.

Scroll up a bit and read my post.

They only have 2 or 3 titles at most of what you listed - why put those in the ad to have them sell out early Sunday, and then listen to people bitch and complain about how CC lacks those titles?

Those budget titles they listed, they more than likely have STACKS of them, so they are safe.
 
What's the best strategy to PM?

I already bought 3 $29.99 games last Saturday (Baiten Kaitos, Transformers, Rumble of Roses)... I was planning to be at CC when it opens (11am) and pick up Ridge Racer DS.

So should I just go to the counter and try to BOTH PM and buy Ridge Racer at the same time... OR go back and do the PM later?

Go back and do it later.

I'm sending my gf to PM the two games I got while I pick up what I want, makes it easier that way.
 
sorry for coming into the game late, but can anyone tell me real quick which games on the list would be best for trading into gamerush? i'm guessing nightmare of druaga, baten kaitos, and PoP 2.

KoF Maximum Impact trades in for $25 to Gamerush, I think.

But if you're taking games out of the hands of gamers just to trade in elsewhere, you're no better than a hoarder, imo.

The only way it's justifiable is if they have plenty of copies of a game, such as my CC has at least 8 copies of KoF: Maximum Impact.
