You can do that, but it's YMMV.

I managed to do it for Rumble Roses, but I had to convince them that EB was a competitor.
I wish somewhere somebody had a genral list of what prices were for trade in at EB/GS/GC... oh well...
You will generally get the same amount you paid in some cases, like Snowblind and Rumble Roses, and considerably less on other titles.
sorry for coming into the game late, but can anyone tell me real quick which games on the list would be best for trading into gamerush? i'm guessing nightmare of druaga, baten kaitos, and PoP 2.
That would be messed up. One thing is to trade off the crappy clearance games picked up from TRU (which most people wouldn't even play if you gave it to them for free), but to trade off games like baten kaitos, PoP 2? Those are quality games so play them. If you don't have a gamecube then inform a friend, neighbor, someone who has one, to buy them.

I guess if you saw someone else hoarding then you might as well join in. But is getting store credit that important?

******************NEWFLASH********************

This sale is active RIGHT NOW! The prices have been downloaded and the games are selling for $9.96. I just checked a few of the titles in my system and all of those are $9.96 as of 2 minutes ago. This is still YMMV until tomorrow as many stores have pulled the games from the floor and won't be putting them out until tomorrow morning. If you can find them in your local store, though, you should PROBABLY be able to get them for the sale price tonight. NO GUARANTEES from me, this is just a heads up FOR CAGS ONLY. I don't advise trying to get the price adjustment tonight since the sale doesn't technically start until tomorrow. I have to go back out to the floor now so let the chaos begin!

Actually, I'm working on this. I gave a friend of mine who works at EB the complete list, and told him to work on it through out the day, crossing out the ones he knows offhand to not be worth it. And in general, GS values are slightly higher, and I dont know anything about Gamerush.

More at 11.

Wow, this is weird.
I just came back from CC not too long ago to scope out if they had pulled games etc.

Anyways, the first thing I see in the video game section is a huge black bin with games that are $10 and under. I look in the bin and there are games and they were all from the list. Of course, there was really only CRAP and mostly the same games such as Rogue Ops and Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter all remarked.

I look in the aisles and NONE of the other games that are on the list are there and it definitely looks a lot more bare than usual.

I asked some sale associate if they will have some more $9.99 games tomorrow and he said they will have mostly discountinued games.

I guess we will have to see, but I might not end up with anything at this rate. :(
It seems that either they didn't pull all the games or that they started this sale early at my store. *sigh*

Well, I'll definitely be there tomorrow morning regardless. I did pick up Bounty Hunter for $9.99 and Banjo Kazooie Grunty's Revenge for $1.99 from an older sale.

I went today to rehide what I was getting tommorrow, and sure enough, an employee was there with the list pulling all the games for tommorrow.

Luckily, he didn't think to check behind the stack of Paper Mario's for Gamecube for the games I hid.

I moved them to a new, foolproof hiding spot far away from the games. When everyone is rummaging through the bins, I can just check the spot and away I go.

This CC set up FOUR giant bins at the very end of the gaming section where the music CD's are. One for each system, I'd imagine.

Gamerush wipes the floor with EB / Gamestop's trade-in values.

$25 for KoF: Maximum Impact is golden.

Same here.

I'm not worried about it, most of the games were pulled when I got there anyways, and everyone seemed to know not to sell them until tommorrow.

I feel VERY sorry for those people who can't get there until tommorrow and CC hasn't pulled the games, and truly thought they had a chance. Imagine how many people are going to go in Sunday morning, only to hear "sorry, sale started last night, you missed out".
No EBAYER Love for this clearance!

I been told by the cashiers they only allow 2 copies per titles per customer even you have tons of games in your cart (4-6 copies the same title) If you don't happy with your purchase then leave the store.
Troy will be disappointed.

i haven't gone to circuit city, but i'm planning on going tomorrow morning. are they separating the games by console in every bin? ps2 in one bin xbox in another bin and so on i really want ridge racer ds, transformers and maybe psi-ops at 10.

At my CC, they had four bins set up already, so I assume they'll be in seperate bins.

It's already started? fuck! I'm hoping that not many people around here found out as this CC isn't usually anywhere near crowded. I guess I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

EDIT: It seems they'll be open a few more hours and I'll be heading out anyways. If I can get the games now, that'd be much better than getting up early tomorrow. :) I'll be back to report on my findings.

Well, I waited. =( And my Circuit City sucks pretty bad, so I'm sure EVERYTHING will be pulled tomorrow. *sigh* *cries*

so it turns out, not any of these are worth more than $7 at EB. Granted, pretty much everywhere is going to have higher trade in values, but in general it looks like it would be more trouble than its worth
Do I need to have the games when I PM, or is just the receipt fine for tomorrow? (I bought Rainbow 6 +headset and Baten Kaitos.)
PM's work best when you have the game with you.

Well, my store had a bin set up w/all the games in them but they had some kind of sheet over them saying "not for sale until 7/3". We had people who kept asking what was in there and trying to peek under the sheet. The games were just dumped in there w/no organization at all so it's going to be a big mess to dig through them. I had my price adjustment done tonight for my 6 games.

Total refunded-$104.13
Total spent-$58.56

Most excellent!

If you didn't buy ahead of time don't say you weren't warned. Best of luck to everyone trying to get the games tomorrow. Get there early!
Do I need to have the games when I PM, or is just the receipt fine for tomorrow? (I bought Rainbow 6 +headset and Baten Kaitos.)
I'm leaving the games in the car, just bringing the receipt.

This way, if they want the games, I can just go out to the car.

Tommorrow is going to be awesome, off to bed.

Dropped by my CC. No sale yet. Talked with the two guys there for a bit. They're ready. I'm ready for tomorrow. I got scared! :p

SOCOM is $10, right? With the headset? It rang up at $30, so it's not ready yet.
PM's work best when you have the game with you.
Having the games or not won't really affect the ability to get a PM but take them anyway since, if they refuse to do the price adjustment, you can just return and rebuy the games. If they won't even do that then NICELY ask for a manager and explain the situation and that should resolve it.

I am getting ancy.......................
Did not have the funds for a full purchase prior to the clearance (to PM)
I'll be waiting when the doors open tomorrow.
Hope to snag
Tony Hawk Underground 2 GCN
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within GCN
Thief: Deadly Shadows Xbox
Robotech: Invasion Xbox

SOCOM w/headset is NOT, I repeat, NOT part of the sale. I checked this one personally while I was at work today and it came up $29.99. I also checked about 15 other games on the list and they all came up $9.96 tonight so it is highly unlikely SOCOM will be added.

Okay. All the games were pulled, so I'll be heading over in the morning before they open at 11. I've got enough money for three games, so I'm hoping there's at least three from my list there.

They SHOULD do 110% of the difference but be sure to ask them to do it before they get started because a lot of CSA's don't pay attention to it or actually want to deny the customer the extra 10%. For what reason, who knows, it's not like they're going to see any of that money.

The reason I was asking is that I had a couple reps (non-CSR) tell me that CC doesn't match + 10% their own prices (BB doesn't PM + 10% their own prices), plus this being a "clearance" sale, that PM's didn't apply.

Sounds like BS to me, though you've never steered me wrong yet.

I just need to say that "Hey, I purchased these games and they appear to be part of your $9.99 sale, could you please pricematch them?" or something like that.

The reason I ask is that, as you've seen from the thread, I have quite a few games to PM.

i don't really see how it's messed up. i'm simply using these good games to get good games of my choice elsewhere. if there is some baten kaitos fanatic who's been dreaming of this day, then he better get there first thing tomorrow morning. early bird gets the worm, pure and simple.
imo, if you're a true CAG, you need to avail yourself of every avenue possible to get the games you want. this requires you to be a little enterprising sometimes. for example, if i want to get forza motorsport cheap now, i wouldn't necessarily wait indefinitely for it go on sale. that's stupid imo. i would look for good deals on other games (such as this CC sale) and then use them to trade in for Forza so that i can play it right away. that's just general advice i follow to get good deals on games that i personally want.
and i normally never go to a store and completely clear it out of their clearance games. i will take what i need and leave the rest behind for others.
I beat up old ladies and take their purses and buy as many copies of Madden and GTA: San Andreas as I can carry.
I would point out the 110% difference before they start (obviously). I think you've mentioned this before, but it would definitely help to print out the policy from the website and have that in hand in case someone gives you any grief. It states, plain as day, that CC does match their own price 110%. As far as it being clearance, there is nothing in the ad stating this as a clearance sale, so they can't genuinely use that as a reason. When they pull up your receipt all they have to do to confirm the price is reference the line # and do an inquiry (this is all CC-speak) and that will show them the current price. State your request as you did in your post. Any decent CSA will appreciate a request over a demand anytime. Just curious, how many games are you going to price match?

I believe the CC I go to normally has the policy posted on the wall, though I'll bring a printed copy just in case. And I'm always polite about my requests for PM's and always make sure to compliment competent and hard work.

How many games do I have to PM? Somewhere between 3 dozen and 4 dozen, almost all of them for other CAGs who asked me to pick them up. Between about 10-12 receipts.

Wow. I don't know what your plans are but I'd like to make some recommendations. That will take a decent amount of time so be sure to go during a slow period. I would try to recommend a good time to go in but since it's a holiday weekend there's no telling. Since this is a 2-day only sale the PMing definitely has to be done by Monday. If you have the time and inclination, you might want to do this at 2 different locations just so they don't try to deny you at one store just on the volume alone. The hours for this weekend are Sunday, 11-8 and Monday, 10-7. Let me know how this works out for you.

I was planning to be there at 11AM sharp, and get it out of the way right off the bat. Figure that they deal with it first thing, and then they're done with it.

Question I have is how could they deny me on volume alone? The PM policy says nothing about "max # of PM's per person" or any such foolishness. I was sort of planning on going to two CC's, just in case, though I wanted to try and make one trip out of it, though if you think that doing that at one CC is asking for trouble, then I'll go to two different ones.

I went to the Orange Park, FL CC tonight around 8-ish to see if they'd put them in the back already, and if not, get a couple full-priced and PM tomorrow. I was quite surprised to find two bins and a shelf already set up for the sale. I only found a couple that I really wanted. Unfortunately I am low on funds so had to be selective instead of grabbing everything I was remotely interested in. I'd pulled two 20's and my debit card ready for the amount and was surprised to hear "$21.32." I was surprised the sale had started already. I was about to go back and grab some more to trade in to Rhino's since we were going to the mall already, but the friends I was with yelled at me, telling me we were going back tomorrow anyway.

Oh well, aside from Conker, I don't think there's any games I want until Killer 7 on 7/7.

And frankly, anything else I get would be play-to-try then become trade-in fodder. They didn't have much I want to add to my collection aside from the Xbox Bloodrayne 2 and GBA Hamtaro Ham-Ham Games I bought tonight. I couldn't believe there weren't any PoP2:WW!

I would have rather they been full-priced so I could have saved a couple bucks after PM. I'm having to decrease my late-night strawberry What-A-Shake intake!
why is Prince of Persia 2 only on sale for gamecube

They did it just to spite you. It's a conspiracy.

I kid, I kid. In all seriousness, it's because Gamecube versions of cross-platform games generally sell the least compared to PS2 and XBox versions. This leaves them plenty of copies of Cube games to clearance out in sales like this one (which is a Godsend for Cube owners like myself).

That's a good idea going first thing. This should help you avoid any trouble if a lot of people want PMs through the day. They should't deny you on volume alone but you know how some people can be sometimes. Wait and see how the attitude is w/the CSA you deal w/and if they seem easy to work w/just let them know you have several PMs and ask if they would mind doing them for you. If you get a decent person that should prevent you from having to go to a second store. Handle yourself as the rational person you "seem" to be;) and I'm sure you'll do fine. Hey, maybe you should take them some doughnuts to brighten their morning.:)
