When they had the big $5.00 sale last year I didnt stop at my CC till like 1:00 and they still had a ton of good games left(2X Rez, 2X RECV for the Cube, MvsC2 for both Xbox and PS2).

Last year mine was cleaned out within 2 minutes. A guy with three carts and about 23 copies of Disgaea walking out with a smirk on his face.

I loathe these people. By the time I got to the Circuit City here in Raleigh, there wasn't anything left. I don't know if we had the hoarding problem here, but people sure did clear it out in a hurry regardless. I bet if you had asked the guy for 1 copy he'd have given you crap about it too. Makes me sick.

I'm probably going to stop in sometime on Sunday before heading to the arcade to check things out. No going early to buy in advance/hide games for me, considering all i'm after is a copy of SVC Chaos and MAYBE a copy of Thief. I got my hopes up about the KOF being 2002/2003, but since it seems to be Maximum Impact being on sale I will not be getting that.

Of course, this is assuming all the Raleigh CAGs haven't cleared the place out again :D
 
There's no circuit cities close ot here, but I did happen to be in an area today that had one and stopped in. Their video game selection was paltry to begin with and they had none of these games on this list. They had a very small selection of recent titles and that was it, so I guess it's YMMV as far as selection goes.

I would have done this, but as stated in earlier posts, most CCs have already pulled the games from the shelves. They're keeping them out of sight until the sale begins on Sunday.

I had the same thought, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get out to my CC today. Too much to do. I guess I'll just take my chances on Sunday. There's only a few titles I'm interested in that are being marked down in this sale, and I really won't even be too upset if they're cleared out before I get there.

I went to CC last night to buy some of the Philips DVD-R's that are on sale, and took a browse through the video game section. I noticed the shelves weren't nearly as full as they were on Sunday when I went to get a pack of said DVD-R's. Me thinks they've pulled the sales game for Sunday as other CAGs have reported.

I don't plan on buying a whole bunch of stuff during this sale, but a couple PS2 games do intrigue me. I might even get a GC game or 2 for my fiancee's little bro's birthday in August.

When you go to CC, just ask the sales person for the titles. That's what I did. They pulled them all, but I asked if they had them in stock. He told me that they were pulled because of the sale. I asked if I could buy them now and he said I could, but for full price. So, he went back and got them for me and I gladly walked out with the 3 games I wanted. I plan to go there first thing sunday morning and ask for my refund :)
 
I just had my hopes dashed of getting there on Sunday because I don't have any power to my home and a few family members as well. So we won't have any until Saturday afternoon so I will be stuck cleaning up my home and several others on Sunday. Hope, they have the games I want on Monday. I am at work and we still have power here.
 
Friday morning, games still haven't been pulled here.

You know what's hilarious, is that they re-organized the ENTIRE video game section, and STILL didn't pull any of the games for the sale.

It's probably more luck than anything else (or the store employees are lazy). I searched much of the games section at my local store a week ago, and there wasn't a sale item to be found anywhere. :cry:

I'm off to one CC to pick up a game that another CAG was looking for, so I'm sure what I'll find at that CC, since it's one quite a distance from me, and not normally go to. Might be a bust besides that game.

Because the sale has not started yet. They pull the games, partly to retag them, and partly so they don't get a bunch of complaints about them not having any of the games when the sale is in effect.
 
Some QUICK questions.

Do you guys think it would be possible to use that Best Buy $5 off any PS2 game? From my experiences, CC seems real cool about accepting competitors coupons.

Most importantly, if this coupon is possible to use, can anyone PLEASE hook me up with just these two games: Prince of Persia 2 (GC) and The Suffering (PS2)? I called my two local CC and they dont have em in... unless theyre lying and already pulled em. I know Im a newbie, but it would be really appreciated.

I've done price matching and then using the $5 coupon and it dosn't work. Even if the employees are okay with it, the computer won't allow you to do a price match AND a coupon. Good luck!
 
My local CC has plenty of copies of SNK Vs Capcom... I might pick up an extra one or two for a CAG regular that I see post often enough that I can trust.

I should know tonight if I am able to go on sunday before the store opens (at 10 am right? or 11 am?). If I am I will post a thread for requests that I will go pick up for CAGs unfotunate enough to not be able to go... or CC without games of their choice...
 
As of Friday at noon the Mobile CC still had not removed any of the sale games

I picked up Baten Kaitos
Project Snowblind and Bloodrayne 2
for a shade under 100 bucks

plan on getting my difference plus the extra 10 percent sunday to drop the total to 24 plus tax (called my CC this afternoon and asked them if that was permissible under their price match guarantee)

There were other games I would have loved to get (MM:AC, POP2, Rumble Roses)... but had already bought them earlier
 
Well i think I already am assured to miss this sale, I have to make a trip early in the morning on Sunday before Circuit City opens, and it means I will probably miss the opening when all this good stuff gets sold. By the way, is Circuit City opening normal times?
 
On my trips to multiple CC's, I found the following:

1) My "normal" CC still hasn't pulled any of the games yet.
2) One CC way the heck away from me appears to have pulled the games, though they were on a table in the games area, with normal pice stickers on them. I picked games up from there without any issues. :shock: Paid normal price, though that's to be expected.
3) A third CC (one I went to last night) had most of the games pulled in the back (SVC Chaos, which is on the list, wasn't pulled) with the $9.99 prices on them, though full price in the computer.

I'm going to a fourth one to pick up one game requested by a CAG, so I'll let you know what I find there.

PM's for 10% additional of the difference should go through, though we won't know until Sunday. They should get changed down to $9.99 without a question, return and rebuy, though the additional 10% is suspected and not confirmed.
 
i have missed a lot of posts in this thread. but i'm getting the sense that many are buying the games now [at full price] and plan to return them later on in the week in order to get the sale price, is that correct?
 
My CC pulled everything except POP2 for the GC. I can't make it Sunday, but a friend is going to try to get Baten Kaitos for me.

They did, as I asked in general terms... I told them I had picked up a couple items from the store this week, and low and behold, found out they would be on clearance this weekend... she told me that was fine, I would get my money back plus the 10% difference, making each of my games 8 bucks

Excellent! Great to hear. I hope I have similar success at my CC this week.

Also, is this sale for the whole week or just sunday and monday? If its only sunday and monday everyone who is doing price matching better go either one of those days then before the sale prices end.

yes speedy. it is a better deal that way anyway, why would you wait? (unless circuit city is far away)
 
I didn't read the entire thread so be gentle. I went to my CC today, the gaming area manager said the only thing on sale this weekend is the 4 games in the ad. I think it was lotr, Hitman 2 ,Rainbow Six 3 and something else. She was very short about it as if she had been asked the question too many times lately.

I am assuming that she just doesn't know what's going on. They didn't have any of the games listed out though except for the KOF for PS2. Though I think I saw some references to this game not being in the sale here in this thread.

That sucks. Might be better to return-rebuy and use the BB coupon.
 
No EBAYER Love for this clearance!

I been told by the cashiers they only allow 2 copies per titles per customer even you have tons of games in your cart (4-6 copies the same title) If you don't happy with your purchase then leave the store.
