should be happy you got those prices down. I went yesterday and the told was telling people that they were TOLD NOT TO PRICE Down games that people got before. This was a 2 Day sale and anything that was got before these two days do not count towards 9.99 games. Most the games were pulled by last tuesday (when i went to seee if they had any) I guess im glad i didnt buy them ahead of time)
Is it really only 2 days? That is an odd clearence (the list I saw from a CC employee actually said it was the annual clearence.

OMG, SRS is rare/valuable now? I better go back and pick up one of the 800 copies they had left. I actually got most of what I wanted, everything except Tony Hawk 2 (I really want the PS2 version anyway) and possibly Ridge Racer DS. I got:
F-Zero (not really a deal but I wanted it sometime anyway)
Baten Kaitos
PoP:WW (they actually had a couple left this afternoon)
WWE Day of Reckoning (haven't bought a wrestling game in a while, and it can't be too bad for $10)
KOF: MI (Haven't played a King of Fighters game yet, not sure if I'll like it)

Nice thing was that this sale started on my B-Day... I was able to pick up the 2 games I wanted after work which were Day of Reckoning and Bloodrayne 2 (XBox) Most of the other stuff had been picked over, and there wasn't anything left in the box that interested me.

As most of you have probably got Baten Kaitos... what do you think of the game? I was kind of sceptical w/ the card battle system but the game actually is very good.
I was at cc today in aurora, oh and picked up srs and bloodrayne 2 for ps2. I also found a karaoke revolution in the 9.99 bin. When i went to the register they said it was not in there system and he would need to get a manager. She came over and after about 15 minutes said it is not in are system as being in stock, I have been looking for this for awhile and asked how much it was. I was willing to pay 19.99 or less, she replied " sorry it is not in are system so i can not sell it to you i have to discard it." she then turned around and opened it, removed the disc and threw it in the trash can. doing buss. like this is why cc will be out of buss. in a short time.
an employee is going to see it and take it home
Has there been any confirmation that the sale is going to continue after today?
I have no idea but I'd have to venture yes... why would they go to all the trouble of sorting out all the $9.96 games to put them in the black bins, only to have to put them back on the shelf?

Maybe they're shipping them off to a wharehouse or something??? What happened at last summer's $4.99 CC clearance sale? I missed out on that sale but maybe that will give us indicators about how CC will handle the current $9.96 sale.
I found SRS for Xbox.

And yes, I know that you were just playing off of his "bs" statement, but for some reason I was drawn to post this.
actully if you look at alot of peoples posts in this topic, it was on just about everyones lists, i mean a former acclaim game? thats a steal for $10.

it wouldnt suprise me if this game became rare/valuable very soon, its been a couple months since ive even spotted a used copy anywhere...
Has there been any confirmation that the sale is going to continue after today?
Yes, the first CAG ventures to CC and reports back, that's how we find out.
im with banky, theres NO WAY you found srs.
Very possible he found SRS--Aurora ain't really a gamer-heavy town.
Yes, the first CAG ventures to CC and reports back, that's how we find out.
I open tomorrow so I'll try to post before the store opens. I'm thinking it will probably continue since they had the old prices marked out w/new ones printed.

With regard to the question of whether the sale will continue after today, when I was looking through the bin today the guy who was working said they were permanant markdowns and would remain that price for good.

So, they should stay on sale. This was in Nashville TN (Cool Springs).

I picked up: Baten Kaitos, Transformers, Gungrave: Overdose, Project Snowblind.

And I was happy.

Makes sense to me, since there's no reason I can see them going through all this for just two days.

i stoped at my local CC and saw a bunch of games and ALMOST bit on a few but figured i would wait till i get my next paycheck if they are still available.

if they were five bucks i would have spent about 50 bucks :whistle2:[

You'd be surprised how much useless crap CC can decide to do sometimes.

Such as intermittant PM + 10% country-wide? :D

I'd be surprised, though whatever I could pull as my proof of that statement, you'd trump without question. :D

I'm not even going to start. I prefer to keep those memories locked away in a deep, dark place (sitting in the corner, hugging myself, rocking back and forth, and muttering something unintelligibly, over and over).

Got spiderman 2 and Chronicles of Riddick (xbx) but my biggest surprise was I found a copy of Tetris ? Star Wars bundle tagged $99.99 for a penny and Silent scope complete (xbx) tagged $39.99 for $1.99 The cashiers eyes just rolled back into her skull then she tried to look for assistance, I said its clearance dont even argue. She did not!!! Iwas like i`d not seen these in a long while so i never expected to see them. Pleasent surprise !!!!

Glad I cought this post at least. This thread just keeps ballooning out of control. One second I'm nearly caught and then the next I'm basically back to where I started. Oh well, thus is what must be done to take part and get in on deals. thanks again OP (if I hadn't mentioned it in the past).

Got in on this deal on quite a few games that I had been wanting.

I was able to find:

SVC Chaos (finally, was never able to find one at an EB for $14.99 or even when it was at $19.99. For $10, it's perfect)
Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament Tactics (love the show and I hear that thsi game is a much, much better thant he abysmal first on the GBA. Picked up two, one for me and one for a friend.)
Project Snowblind (Xbox. Was hoping for PS2, but this'll do until I check again tomorrow. Still, either version would have been find for this game, since I hear they're both in the same range.)
Rumble Roses (never got in on it through EB when it came in stock, so I got it now. I've been enjoying it since I started it yesterday.}
Thief
Ridge Racer DS
And a couple others that aren't coming to me as of this moment.

Got there yesterday about 20 minutes earlier, since I didn't really know what to expect. There were about 2 other people waiting there, and then later after the store opened, a couple more people showed up. Both CCs that I went to yesterday had plenty of everything, but sadly I didn't have plenty of money for what I wanted. The great thing about yesterday, was that I met one other CAG (his SN escapes my memory) and an SDer/FWer (it was one or the other).

Anyway, I'll be very glad if indeed this sale continues (that's what I'm expecting) since I get paid tomorrow. All that's left for me to find is a Transformers and a Nanobreaker (maybe a Project Snowblind PS2).

Tournament Tactics is a horrible, horrible game. It's like they took a TBS, gutted it of anything interesting, and threw it out for the license.

Nice finds, hiccuple.

I'd check the "official" thread to see what you can find:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56922

I think one CAG in there wanted Snowblind XBox for his Snowblind PS2, so you might be in luck there. Right here, in fact:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1118458&postcount=154

Transformers and Nanobreaker have been a bit harder to see in the thread for people hawking 'em.

Well, now looking at Gamerankings it seems that there is some validity to your point. But still, I'm a fan of the show and have been wanting to play it and have been waiting for a price drop on it and at this price I couldn't pass it up any longer.

Oh, I just remembered one of the other games I got, Ridge Racer DS. Just another game for my ever growing DS collection. I love this system. SO many great games and a lot can be had for cheap.

Still, this sale has bee pretty good. For all those naysayers in the early posts of this thread, you guys are just wrong. I mean, for sure this sale isn't as good as last year's $5 CC sale (i.e. not nearly as many games, they're $10 this time), but this sale has more quality games/games that I have been wanting to play for a while. Besides, I'm sure that CC after seeing the success of last year's sale and of how many games people bought probably thought that they could get another $5 out of many of us, which is only within their rite (and still it's not too bad).

Yeah, I do have a few posts in here, mainly because I was doing my usual job of helping out the other CAGs in getting them games. :D

It's pretty much kept the peace for the most part, so there hasn't been much "work" to do.

Plus, I'm also the doofus that went into CC yesterday with something like 15+ receipts covering 40+ games for PM's. Yet another point of legendary status, I suppose. :D

My CC had plenty of SRS for the GC and XB Sunday morning... I almost picked up a copy.

That's cool. I've seen from just readin some of the earlier pages some of the minor bickering about how much last year's sale was better than this years. Bleh IMO people, come on we CAGs take what we can get. Beggars can't be choosers as they say.

Anyhow, I'm not really sure what you mean by that last part (probably has something to do with me being dead tired from all of the shopping and stuff I've done for the past three days, not to mention the toruture my friend put me through of having to sit and watch Alone in the Dark again.) Anyway, what do you mean by 15+reciepts for 40+ games for PMs?

Same here. this and sports games were probably the majority of the games that were in the bin.

Yes, people can't be picky for what sales happen. Some times you make your own deals, other times, not.

What I meant is exactly what I said, though with a little more explanation. Once news broke of the sale, I've been going out to CC's and picking up games in advance, since last Saturday (the 25th), with a small number of games for myself, and most everything else for other CAGs. Some of the purchases were single game purchases, other purchases were 12 games at a time. All at full price, since I was told multiple times that I could PM them on the backside. By the time I was done, it ended up being 15+ receipts with over 40+ games total. All of them PM'd for PM + 10% difference, with four PM's needing to be done at another CC due to being over 3 games in quantity for some titles. I spent 45 minutes at my first CC getting all the PM's done, since the rep verified every single game on all my receipts was $9.99, and therefore PM'able. Where she found that I went over on quantities, so couldn't do the PM's due to the limit. Which was why I went to a second one, to get the rest.

Duh:wall::dunce:#-o#-o#-o#-o#-oWhy didn't I think of that. I forgot that it was confirmed earlier in the thread stating that one could PM the games if they bought them early. Sorry about having to have you write up that big explanation, but still thanks. And wow that's a lot of PMing. I hope that most of the people went through on their requests and none of the offers fell through/backed out.

Man, that sale was a CROCK. I went there bright and early, was the FIRST one through the doors when they opened an HOUR early in my area. My local CC didn't even HAVE the games out when we got into the store. I went to a store 20 miles away or so and again, I was disappointed. One of the 3-4 games I desperately wanted WAS there, that being Psi-Ops which I could get for 3 bucks more without having to run around like I did.

NO copies of The Suffering at my store and only ONE stinkin copy at the other CC store I went to.

To me this wasn't all that great of a sale, more like a JOKE.

perhaps ill have to take a drive to ohio and see if i can find sealed suikoden 2's and other gems.

DUDE I have a Project Snow Blind for the PS2 but I was looking for a XBOX version. I have not opened it yet in hopes that someone on CAG would be willing to trade Project Snow Blind XBOX for my PS2 version. If you are interested PM me please!!!

I was able to get a whopping total of ZERO games, namely because they only had crap I didn't want in the bins by the time they put them out. Though, as some other people said on other posts, I was thinking about getting copies of GTA Double Pack and Project: Snowblind and trying to take them back to Wal*Mart for more. LOL But that would've been such a pain in the crack to do. Oh well, gotta hope for NEXT years 'sale' and hope like heck they actually HAVE copies of the games they SAY they're going to.

Picked up Ridge Racer DS and Thief today...

No Project Snowblind for XBOX at the 2 CC near me. :( And there sold out online :(

Major thanks to OP, h2dk!

I went the day after the post broke, 6/25/2005, and had to visit 3 CCs to get the titles; it was well worth it! (PM'ed on Sunday, 7/3/2005)

Madden NFL 2004
Madden NFL 2005
NHL 2005
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004

and, the #1 title on my list....Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

Gotta love'em clearance sales! Thank You, Circuit City.

and, damn....this thread almost 80K views!!!

Nice... you saved an additional $80-90 (after the 10% difference) for yourself and other CAGs trading with you... although 45-minutes is quite a long wait. Your time is probably worth more then that... but what they hey, I went through alot of trouble trying to get the 10% difference ($6.48) on 3 games.

BTW, how come it takes them so long to PM and adjust the 10% difference? Seems like they should be able to push a button to automatically do it... do they have to manually adjust it or something?

CC didn't say anything. The only games that they actually mentioned in their sale were games like Ford Mustang and Bad Boys... so unless you wanted those games then there really isn't any reason to complain.

It's also a clearance, so they are just clearing out remaining stock of games that are most likely discontinued so stock is not guaranteed.

Are we sure that this ended on monday? Seems like a 'clearance' is to get rid of stuff and would continue until there wasn't much left. Just seems odd to do a 2-day clearance.

Thanks for this post. I picked up Bloodrayne 2 and Project: Snowblind for the PS2 and Thief for the Xbox. All of the games that I wanted off of the list weren't in the "$9.99 bin," but still on the shelves. Because of this post, I was able to scan the shelves and not have to look at the price tags.

I guess the price still holds. I got a copy of Baten Kaitos on Saturday from CC and was going to swing by today and get the price adjusted. I just called and they have it in the system at $9.96
I would've been really pissed if it was only a 2 day sale. :)

CustSvc didn't have a copy of the list, even though I told them that the games section should have it. Therefore, using the phrases neocisco told me to do, she went through every item on every receipt and verified price, as well as quantity. Which is where I ended up finding out I had more than three copies of some games, which also took some time, since I had to figure out what I was going to do.

In her position, I'd have done the same. The only thing that was bad is that she was the only one on at Customer Service for the first 20 minutes after they opened, so it clogged things up a bit until one of the other CS reps came over to help.
I just noticed that The Suffering was on this list. It was $5 at last years CC sale. Does anyone know why it went up in price?
Despite what nearly almost every cag wants to not believe, circuit city actually needs to make money. as well as most buissness' do.

when they buy these games between 38-44 dollars upon release, i am sure the last thing they are hoping for is losing between 28 and 34 dollars on every copy they buy.
