Now, if only the damned original XBox systems had dropped to that price of $38 before hitting sold out status at my local Kmarts that HAD them(Pittston, PA and Wilkes Barre Township, PA for those who wondered where) sold them out.

Then again, I guess I won't ever find another deal as great as that PSone/LCD for $10 that I got from the Kmart in Moosic, PA(which also had 2-3 of the FFXI HDD's till someone grabbed them both). And, a huge thanks once again to BriansRareGames for pointing out the price on that combo for me.

Ahhh good times...good times....

Oh and what exactly is this Satellite thing for $30 some dollars? Is it speakers or a Satellite dish?

i actually took the barcode sticker out of Capcom Evolution for the PS2 and rang up as check for price. so i figured it will not be possible for this to go down atm.

well i pretty much explained it on my reply to your post. but to be exact the barcode is covered with a generic barcode that looks exactly like the other games that has the big $14.99 stickers. the $19.99 games that youre talking about is new to me though.. you might wanna stick around that kmart and check everyweek to see if those were being marked down again :)
 
As a heads up to those of you new to the K-Mart threads, I work in the electronics department at my local K-Mart and have access to these clearance listings.

There was a large one on 1/31, but it was all accessories and virtually no games, mainly focusing on older consoles (the fat DS, older GBAs, X-Box, GC, etc.). Today I discovered a new one dated 2/19 (about the average dates for these things). It's almost the same this time, mostly accessories, but there were a few games that dropped. The one that comes to mind is Tomb Raider for the 360 dropped to $19.00.

As for accessories, I remember a 360 "Performance Pack" (2 rechargable battery packs, AC recharger, cooling fan) dropped to $35.00.

And yes, I remember a Sirius receiver unit dropped to thirty-something dollars, and the boombox for the unit went down to like $22.
 
Hmmm... Bought a Tomb Raider Legend a few weeks back for $20 from TRU - though, damn, I used one of those $3 customer survey coupons too so I probably won't get that back if I return. Well, anyway, I'll keep an eye on TRL for any further drops - if it jumps right from $19 to $4 like the last set of games did that would be mighty nice.

I volunteered to do the Kmart thread earlier as well, but won't if someone else is about to (my fear: I spend an hour or so whipping up a nice OP only to find another brand new one posted while I worked on it ;)). I say a mod step in and say "I CHOOSE YOU!" (amongst the various people who have mentioned they would do it, including the OP of this thread).

How did you know HD was theat cheap? I'm looking for a cheap one since my external HD just died. Fortunately it died the day after I turned in all my work so i didnt lose anything important.

Totally off topic, but I used to work in electronics at K-Mart back in the day. This was in 1996, when PS1 games were still ridiculously expensive, and we were still selling Saturn games. Anyway, one day I was talking to a girl I knew, while at the same time a guy was breaking into our glass game case. He ended up stealing several Playstations and an assload of games (I seem to remember the manager saying the loss was around $2000 of merchandise), and I never even realized. I even closed up the department that night without noticing anything was gone. Ah, to be 16 again ...

Oh, and somehow I never got fired. I think it was because they caught the guy doing the same thing in a town 30 miles away. Not sure if they recovered their merchandise, though.

It was mentioned in the last K-Mart thread, so I have always been looking out for it.

Anyone with the time commitment to do the post should do it. I would do it, but I'm new around here anyway, so I say you two (io & naes) rock, paper scissors for it or something and get a new thread started up.
 
As long as someone commits to doing the thread, keeping it organized, and making sure the OP gets updated regularly, it doesn't matter who does it.

Since Country4687 has access to the clearance lists, he's a good candidate, though io and naes are around more often.

io's shown a good track record in the past, so he'd be my preference in doing it, though again, it doesn't matter who does it, as long as they stay on top of it, and bow out when they can't.

Just hit up my Big K in Wichita (off Kellogg). Not a lot of available titles left without the red stickers and stickered-over UPCs, but in the cases, I did manage to find and buy:

Total: $18.24 with tax.

I only bought one copy of each for myself. I didn't see anymore R6's at that price, but I did leave at least one Polarium, one Metroid Pinball and one True Swing Golf. Also, I price-checked Advance Wars DS and it rang up $34.99, so it definitely is YMMV. And Eye Toy Play 2 rang up at $50, so that one's YMMV too.

If there hadn't been any of those damn red stickers, I would have made out like a bandit. I wanted their last copy of Shadow of Rome, but I wasn't going to pay $30. And I also saw Haunting Ground for $15 as well and non-GH copies of Tales of Symphonia for the GC.

Just a heads up, the older version of live for the original xbox still hasn't dropped for me and its stilling at 42 I believe.

Is the newer 360 kit the one that's on clearance? Or is just the old card only one? I've seen both the old XBOX 3 month starter kit and the newer starter kit. Only scanned the older one, haven't scanned the 360ish one.

Me and my bother saw that at Best Buy for like $15 bucks. We thought of a few things.

It sounded pretty unanimous for me to start a new thread but I guess minds have changed. I really would have started a new one but there isn't a need for one right now as there have been hardly any drops. I was also kind of waiting for a response to my last post about having the ability to edit out unnecessary posts in the new thread, but I did not hear from anyone. All I ask is that the new thread is updated frequently. Maybe I'll take on the slashbunny upc's now that I don't have the burden of maintaining the thread. I did not want to do both previously as I didn't have the time to commit to both.

Shining, I definitely would have let you do it for sure, but it seemed like you weren't going to get the control you wanted (not sure it is even possible unless you are a mod). If you want to do the UPC database that would be great, as I was wondering what would happen with that. I didn't really want to do both, so that might work out for the best.

I will update the Kmart thread frequently - if you followed the EB/GS trade-in deal threads last summer/fall (where Botticus and I, mostly, updated trade-in prices in the wiki from everyone's trade quotes) I think you'll see that I stay on top of things when I'm committed ;). I usually try to stay out of making my own threads, especially for ongoing sales. I prefer to help out the various OP's by swatting down newbie questions and the like ;). But it seems I spent enough time at various Kmarts over the last year or so that if there was ever any I could handle, this would be it.

It will be up in a few hours.
