Yeah, Comcast is a joke with their CAP. I may switch to WOW, but I'm hesitant as I would lose my main e-mail address that I use for all my billpay and everything else important....oops. Plus, WOW offered me the same price, so they have not enticed me yet.

I cannot wait to try this though.

Been checking my E-mail all day long and this thread to see if anybody has gotten theres yet. I really hope I get in, I wanna try the Netflix truthfully.

I'd like to take a code, but then if I didn't get in the preview I would feel bad. I have no interest in watching Netflix on my PC or getting physical DVDs in the mail so if I don't get into the NXE preview, it would be completely wasted.

You are aware this is NOT a beta right? Major and E themselves have stated that its the final product. All we are doing is stress testing thats about as beta as it's getting. Its NOT a beta test folks.

But thats ok your one less person I have to go up against in trying to get in.

I have DSL that goes that fast. Most cable matches that speed.

If you could reach their advertised speeds it wouldn't be so bad, but not worth the cost if your real world speeds only hit high-end DSL/mid-range Cable.

I'm expecting some hiccups, but nothing major. Worse case, the test server (which i assume they are using for distribute the preview) goes down...or our 360's are bricked :)

yea but i was referring to the 50/20 ratio ,I Host 1 FTP server on a comcast cable line that needs to be faster, and the house internet if for everything else DSL Verizon Business. Be nice to pay the 150 for the 50/20 ratio and only worry about 1 line and one bill and fast speed.

only reason why comcast is even still around for me is cause i was using them for cable till i found FTA and costs more to dump them then to let the contract run out

That's about 6 Megabits/s. That's what I have with comcast for $33/mo. That roughly turns out to 700-780kb/s of max download speed. Maybe it'll be worth it if you don't have a bandwidth cap.

So, I am currently XBox360less and I saw online that Microsoft is offering a 20gb hard drive for $20 for people who qualify (Arcade and maybe core console owners). Does anyone know what exactly qualifies for this? Does it depend on when you purchased the XBox or not? If it doesn't, then I would much rather buy an Arcade console and get the hard drive for $20 as opposed to buying a 60gb XBox for $300. If anyone knows anything about this, please do tell.

Verizon no bandwidth caps no monitoring of torrents or other p2p materials. Other then the bandwidth cap which is killing my FTP server comcast does rock.

You do NOT need to be a gold subscriber. I bought my Arcade in September, had never even networked it at all, and qualified for the $30 bundle (20GB refurbed HDD and 3 months live).

You say preview, i see Microsoft Beta Software. Either way (by your own admission) you'd test it before I plan to get my hands on it.

There's nothing wrong with that, and I APPRECIATE it.
 
They should have just said "The tokens/beta will be available for Select users on Thursday, October 30th." Instead of all this damn waiting.

But for some reason, I'm not really surprised truthfully.

I think it's a crass comment regardless of whether the person visiting the board is the father, one of the 1600 people that have volunteered their time to look for the kid, or simply someone who knows that losing a child is an extraordinarily painful experience and not something any decent person would poke fun at.

All topics are open to be poked fun at. I hate people who make sacred cows out of certain subjects. There are no taboos in comedy. It's crap like that continues to contribute to the pussification of this country (obviously speaking to Americans here. I don't like people from other countries, anyway).

In this case they didn't lose a child, the child ran away because daddy took his Xbox away.

A few corrections (since there seems to be multiple people here that don't have the full story):

- It isn't a beta. It's a preview. They are highly doubtful anything will change from the version granted early to launch.

- You won't get access to it today, nor tomorrow, likely. They specifically said that the 29th they would NOTIFY people that would get it, and tell them at what time they will get it. It could be next week, it could be in two weeks. I'm not sure why everyone here seems to think you'll get to get the new NXE as soon as you get an email.
