OF course, you could also ask some of us with the Netflix to look up some titles for you too... I do wish there was a better way to browse, but after taking up the free trial, I rather like their collection, it's way better than what I expected.

Do not buy the Vigilante 8 "Premium" theme. It does not have a skin for your friends list unlike Gears 2 themes do. It's just a lame background :whistle2:(

Hmmm, no, you're right, they changed the layout a bit, lol. Ok, try using "Search" instead... blue buttons under title names means they are available for Instant play/Being streamed. They say some streaming titles might not be available to see on Xbox, but I have yet to bump into one yet.
 
Can anyone tell me if Fists of Fury and The Spy Who Came in From the Cold are streamable or not? I don't like to rent movies, and if I can stream them in a 14-day free trial, it'd convince me to get the trial.

You could do a search on netflix.com i believe.

EDIT: i searched and neither are streamable.

Under Watch Instantly Genres, go to "Starz Play". All of those are suppose to be HD, I believe.

Sorry to ask, but can anyone refresh my mind as to where the theme selector is? I know it's there, since I was happy they included an instant preview of the highlighted theme in the background.

*EDIT*

Found it, it's in My Xbox on my gamer panel instead of in preferences like in the previous version.

I believe I figured out why *I* didn't get in:

In my gmail account I have it set up to show my outgoing mail as coming from a different email address (a different reply to address). I think their automated system was checking email addresses when you replied to that email to make sure it matched their email from the same email address that I signed up on USA Today with.

I just changed it back and replied again. I immediately got a blank response, which is what others said happened when they did it, perhaps meaning it worked.

I did the same things...really pissed that they made this so complicated. It shouldn't matter what e-mail the reply comes from. I mean, i replied back with the e-mail i originally sent them and NOW they ask for the e-mail on my account? Bullshit if you ask me. I got the blank e-mail back as well, so perhaps we'll get it on Monday...

I replied explaining that Ive checked and double checked and no update....Im just supposed to login and i should get a prompt to update...right?
 
One thing that really shocked me of this NXE thing is that you can't change colors of the clothing...that right there was a big mistake. You should be able to change color of any article of clothing and accessories. Wasted opportunity right there.

Yeah I am still waiting on this lie of a USA Today promotion to prove itself it was not a lie. My brother who just got an Xbox 360 a month ago got in on Major's 3rd wave what a freaking disappointment. I was over there creating my avatar but he was trying to find the photo party application to download and him and me could not find it anywhere does anyone know where it could be?
 
I put the over/under on Live being down Wednesday at 8 hours. Given that Live was wonky last night (booting people randomly) I don't think it's crazy to think this is going to crash the system on Wednesday.

I think they need to push out this thing now, because it seems like the dual dashboards are causing a bit of a problem.

Complete crash. Xbox.com isn't working, Can't sign in to my gamertag, and the comments are brewing a small storm over on majornelson right now.


And for the record I still have the old dashboard.

XBL is working for me as well as .com.
 
It was down for a few minutes earlier. I don't want to get this update early, but I might have to considering it may be down later in the day.

Yeah, seems like its varied. Others are reporting just simple problems such as can't connect to messenger, etc. On GTA we can't even start any kind of multiplayer without being disconnected.

It actually isn't going to be funny :roll: there are going to be a lot of pissed off people that can't get the update and I have the feeling XBL is going to go DOWN!!
 
I dunno... It might work. Maybe part of the reason they've been doing this the way they have been is to get the problems fixed before the full launch.

We'll see.

I don't really care either way. It's kind of fun to watch the spectacle. :)
 
I'm thinking about installing the leaked NXE Tuesday night and then signing on to XBL in the wee hours on Wed in hopes of getting a quick update.

i'm worried about installing the leaked one. really scared i wouldn't be able to connect to live again even once the update is out for everyone.

Um, it did. It's the same exact file that everyone in the preview downloads.
 
Do we really have to fight over this? The reality is, if you were not invited into the preview, you aren't suppose to have the update on your machine until it is officially released. It's that cut and dry. Is it illegal? Does it matter? It's not like the FBI is going to knock on your door over it. Now, whether or not Microsoft does something to those that install it through non-official means is another story. I don't see it happening. If they were planning on it, they would probably have already tried to deter people by telling them as such. But you never know, which is why I wouldn't touch it with a yard stick.

I mentioned several posts back that I installed the leaked version when it first came out and then got the invite during the 3rd wave. I had NO problems at all getting the official update once my console ID was added into the system.

Great news, AdvofJet. Glad to see MS is reasonable about this and people are able to at least access installs early.
