Well, I would say the majority of the complaints happened before we knew we were getting refunds. I think it's fair to complain and to wonder how they got used repackaged games, and why they got them. It's entirely possible that the distributor sent them these with NewEgg thinking they were new.

Who knows, NewEgg is definitely handling it all correctly with regard to refunds/exchanges. They removed the item from the site because of the complaints too, so they're doing the right thing there too. So it's not all complaining, a lot of it is just curiosity.

BTW, my Every Extend Extra was definitely new. It's also not impossible for a new game to have the art flipped. That's happened to me in the past. If everything looks new, it probably is. The best way to tell is to look at the UMD. If there's a good deal of dust on the disk, then it's not new. If there's no dust, then it's almost definitely new.

For the couple of u who say stop complaining i say f off!! I buy something with my hard earned money, i expect to get what i buy as new!! not used. newegg knows what the hell they did. morons. never buying from them again.

Though you have every right to be annoyed, "they know what they did" sounds a bit silly. It's not like they were sitting there and wrapping these games themselves, laughing manically the whole time. They are obviously getting games from a poor distributor and need to stop. Everyone seriously needs to e-mail about this issue, even if you are fine with the game you got.

I HIGHLY doubt they knew these were not new when they sold them. As soon as we got reports of the item be repackaged, they pulled it from their site. This is going to cost them a bunch of money, why would they knowingly do this? They're basically giving these games to everyone now, so they lost their ass on it. They'd never knowingly sell something that's used as new. I believe that's fraud (correct me if I'm wrong). NewEgg has great customer service and a great return policy, and they've instantly addressed the problem. Any company can buy something they think is new, only to find out it's not after sending it out to customers.

How would they have known these were used? I mean the guy at the packaging plant wouldn't know there was supposed to be a seal inside of the cellophane.

Exactly. Newegg is a great company. I have trusted them with shipping me $1000 worth of high-end computer components. This is obviously a case of them getting shit from the distributor, and hopefully, they will no longer deal with them.

I got my Lost for 360 today after getting the PC one by accident. Got to keep the pc one at no charge put it on Craigslsit to see if anyone will trade me anything or 5 bucks for it
.
man, what is this world coming to. idk if you guys are teens or adults but open up your eyes. why r u guys ok with this? u r all sheep.

What are you reading, exactly? Who is ok with it? Just about everyone posting said there was something wrong, and they contacted Newegg about it. Not only that, but Newegg fixed the problem, and as the other poster mentioned, is gonna eat a shit load of money over it. Again, Newegg is not a bunch of evil geniuses looking to take kids' lunch money by selling them used games. They are a huge business and have warehouses, I think, in three states. No one goes over their inventory every three seconds. A massive error was made, and Newegg refunded everyone their money.

i leik teh txt talk lolz.

Newegg has always done right by me - and everyone else I've ever seen post online. Mistakes happen but they FIX THEM. Or do you expect every single company to be infallible at all times? Your list of places to shop is going to dwindle away to nothing if that's the case.

Moojuice you realize you got a defective Wal-Mart slip inside your case? That's pathetic.

Well anyways I shot Newegg an e-mail though I haven't received the product yet. I'll gladly take a game for $2 if I'm able to burn it to the hard drive and it works.

people, i get pissed when companies screw the little guy, you guys. i'm sticking up for u! i love cag, i think i'll get quake wars, i know i'm a hypocrite.

Who got screwed?!? I got GRAW2 for free! Someone got screwed in that deal, probably NewEgg, but it wasn't me.

I understand where you're coming from - nobody likes being pushed around by a large corporation. However, I don't think Newegg was doing any of this intentionally, and they corrected the mistake pretty well IMO - I mean refund+keep game and then they take the title off the site? They aren't trying to do anything bad here, they simply made a mistake.

Didn't know it was from Walmart...
maybe i'll get quake wars. is it new? lol.
Even though you are joking I will answer Just so it is clear.

Yes - as was every single game other game I got on this list and I bought quite a few. (With the exception of GRAW, which I might not have even noticed if not made aware by this board since it was in pretty good condition.)
hey guys the Splinter Cell limited edition is down to $12.99 now....only 3 dollars more than regular. i've updated the OP
Thanks for the update, I just grabbed it. That makes it the same price as the GoGamer.com deal recently, which I somehow screwed up (thought I placed an order, but didn't).

For everyone who was curious about the new GRAW 2, I received it today. It was sealed in cellophane like the last one, but was in a 360 case with no seal. I opened it up and the disc has a bunch of scratches - not really a surprise after everything I read earlier. To sum it up - the second one ended up worse than the first one - go figure.
Sega Superstars Tennis -- $11 at amazon
your new so I will just let you know that a deal like that should be posted in its own thread (not sold by newegg)....where you would first search to make sure there isn't an existing thread about your deal...which in this case there is already an entire thread discussing that deal.

Oh and your better off buying it on ebay where you can get it for cheaper and have it come with a live arcade compilation disc with 5 full XBLA games included.

I just received Kameo and I was sad that it was in platinum. The disc was fine but the manual got bent. =[

edit- I just put Kameo in and it doesn't work! IT makes a very werid sound and then it says that the game has to be put in a xbox 360! What should I do? I hope I didn't waste 10 dollars

Just email or call newegg and ask for an exchange due to product defect. They should pay for the shipping and back and send a new copy free.

I had this problem in the past and I just cleaned the disc with windex and it worked fine. This has happen with a brand new sealed XBox games and some of my older games. If that doesn't work their customer service should help.

My GRAW2 also lacked the MS security sticker and was packaged in an Xbox box. The manual and disc looked to be new, and it was wrapped with the V cellophane. I contacted Newegg, and they refunded me the $9.99. This is the first time I've ever received a video game from Newegg in this condition. You can bet Newegg will no longer be doing business with such a shady distributor.

Well, there isn't any scratches on the disc so I don't know. Ill try to use windex I guess. I was really hoping to try this game too.
You can bet Newegg will no longer be doing business with such a shady distributor.
Yeah, I would suspect so, especially after all of the money they lost over this.
I tend to buy tons of games at $9.99 and not play them. I was going to go for Lost, but I contained myself.
If you're a fan of the show, and you're a fan of achievements, then it is WELL worth it at $10. Is it the best game ever? No. It's a bit dull. The fuse puzzles are fun, and there are some other fun bits too. I'm a pretty huge Lost fan, and it was worth it for me just to be able to explore the Dharma stations, the beach, and the pirate ship. Plus, if you like achievements, it's the easiest 1000 points I've ever gotten.

On the other hand, if you're not a fan of the show, you will not like the game.

Thank you for contacting Newegg.

We humbly apologize for the unfavorable circumstances. After checking, we show the item is brand new. If you would like to keep it, we are willing to offer you a $5.00 credit for the inconvenience. Or we are willing to offer you a replacement. Please let us know your option and then we will be able to further assist you.

Take the $5 and keep the game, or argue more? Seeing as how some people got the game free or close to free I think I'm getting low balled. What do you guys think?

Keep pressing, they upped a 15 dollar credit to a 20 for some headset of mine today. They'll go higher.

I'd keep pressing. I got a full refund and didn't even have to ask for it.

If the game works just take the $5 and run...or get a replacement. There is a point that it is just plain wrong to ask for full refund if it works and you are playing it. If you are not happy with a product I agree that we should complain but NewEgg responded and offered a credit or a replacement to you. That pretty decent customer service especially compared to Gamestop or Best Buy. It just feel like bad karma to me that's my 2 cents...or wait I want those 2 cents back:)
