I wrote an email explaining the situation with my Rainbow Six Vegas and Newegg issued me a refund. They don't want the game back even though I offered. The disc was resurfaced, but I've yet to try it. I really don't like refurbs.
 
Newegg is still a good site but has its problems. They arent too competitive anymore in pricing, removed their free shipping etc..

At the end of 07/ beginning of 08 i bought some very expensive memory and it went bad in 2 weeks. I got an RMA, mailed it back and requested a refund with the intent of buying a different brand from them and they ended up charging me a restocking fee....on a defective product. The CS&R i had refused to do anything about it. Sucked cause it was about a $40.00 fee which was entirely non-sensical to boot. I've done the retail thing so i know all they do is spend a minute or two of their time doing their job writing the product off and getting a free replacement.

So because of these things i usually use their site to pile up things i want then purchase them elseware.


edit-wrote that before i read the previous pages. I guess they're still up to this shady tactic then. Too bad.

Given the horror stories with other games here, I wonder if the copies of Zoids from newegg are factory sealed, American version without problem. It's tempting at that price point.
 
Anyone know if the Zoids game is actually any good? I was interested because I remember the original Zoids from back when I was a kid in the 80s, but the reviews for the game that I've seen have been absolutely horrid. I'm torn on whether to go for this one or not.
 
You better buy it while it's in stock. Last time they had Zoids for 9.99 I think, it didn't last very long. Probably a testament to how the game is.

I finally got the replacement for the copy of Project Sylpheed that the post office lost (only took three weeks since I reported the issue :roll:). I can confirm that it, at least, is new and a standard North American NTSC version.
 
I got the R6V for 9.99 .. it seems that it is refurbished .. there was no seal .. and it seemed to be repackaged .. also the box was broken inside .. so the dvd wasn't secure inside .. no scratches though :lol:

No kidding. I snapped one up. I figured the worst that will happen is I'll get my money back but keep a used game.
 
I picked up Eat Lead also. I rented it and it was a average budget 3rd person shooter with some fun to be had. $15.99 was the sweet spot for me.

I was going to buy it at around 20,but saw it was 16, and thought hot damn that is cheaper than ebay. *gets credit card* *ordered it* xD

I hope it isn't a repackage deal either,but for 16 as long as it is complete, and works I'll be happy. :)

Now just add me to Live so we can actually get some games going because Live is pretty much a wasteland in that game.

I think you just volunteered yourself ;) haha. I completely agree with you I hate browsing amazon because of that so I never shop from there unless there's a certain deal posted on here.
 
Is it just me or is this thread broken? On three different computers I see that there is a page 39 (for me, I changed my posts per page setting) but every time I try to go there, I get back to 38. It's like Groundhog Day but way less cool.

I noticed that bug in these forum systems a long time ago. Apparently it's never been fixed. Probably has something to do with how they calculate the number of pages to list. Come to think of it... maybe they're not counting the initial post in the page calculation. It always shows the link for the next page 1 reply before it would actually be created.

I'd like to see another good deal on Matt Hazard too. I thought that game was pretty cool. I also can't understand why some crap games like Heavenly Sword are holding at $60. I thought that was like $10 somewhere at xmas time last winter.

I got Heavenly Sword for $20 off of a Best Buy clearance shelf a couple of months ago. I agree that it's not worth $60, but I've enjoyed it enough for what I paid for it. I don't know why, but for some reason PS3 titles (and especially exclusive PS3 titles) just don't seem to drop very fast. I've been waiting for Uncharted to drop -- I've expected that it would, given that they were bundling it for a while (and games that get bundled with the 360 seem to drop significantly nearly right away). No luck yet, though.
 
Thanks for the heads up. Picked up Zoids Assault and Operation Darkness along with a PC Age of Pirates that I had sitting in my checkout cart for a while.
 
Time for my semi-annual "Buy Zoids Assault" comment. It's not the greatest SRPG the world has ever known, but I found it quite enjoyable, and worth getting 1000/1000 on (requires two full playthroughs). One thing that it does very well compared to nearly all other games in the genre is that it forces you to use your entire team, rather than just power leveling a single character or two. I enjoy power leveling characters, but this one was a refreshing change of pace.... easily recommended for the price.
