NFL 2007 Season Thread

And the Cowboys go for a late TD, up by 21 with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. If that were the Pats, they'd be running up the score, oh noes!

God, Adrian Peterson was incredible today. Awesome win for the Vikes. Eff the Chargers.

Oh yeah, and the Colts have been using that fake crowd noise crap for some time now. Funny how no one mentions it as an unsportsmanlike behavior that bends the rules. There's only one team people will find anything to gripe on about - the big, bad Patriots.

Lawls. What are they supposed to do? Witten just ran halfway down the field to get them down there. There really is no comparison. Go watch highlights of that Miami/NE game and tell me they weren't running it up. I mean do you really need to run the Marino play at the end of the half up 28? 52-7 isn't running it up? Also when they played the Cowboys they ran it up. Quit denying it.

Plus even if they are, this is PHI. Dallas is allowed to stick it to them every time they get a chance. They deserve it (see Michael Irvin booing).

Boston fans are becoming the new New York fans. They take no responsibility when they do something wrong, and they always look for other things to justify what they do.

I like the Sox and all, but damn if ya'll aren't annoying sometimes.

On another note, what kind of idiot wears a Devin Hester jersey to a Colts/Patriots game? Hey, retard, the Bears are a couple hundred miles north. You're in the wrong stadium at the wrong game.

So Alex Smith leads the Niners to another loss. Even worse it was against the Falcons. What is even worse than that is even in the 49ers two wins they did not look good. Only bright side is that Vernon Davis is showing some promise the last couple of games.

I'm sure the Patriots are the first team in the history of the NFL to "run up the score". Hell, I'm even certain that they're the first and only team this year to do it. The Colts certainly would never do such a thing, and especially not when a certain QB is looking for a TD record. Never, not in a million years. The Colts would feel so ashamed to embarrass their opponent that the classy Bill Polian would set their crowd noise machine to boo themselves.

And Dallas, nah. Tonight wasn't running up the score for them, they had to go out and sling it while up by 25 because the Pats made their dicks look small.

Hate on, haters. You're blinded by your bitterness. The constant b1tching and moaning by everyone does nothing but inspire the Pats.

Only the meanie Pats bend the rules and run up the score! It's crazy to even think the angel Colts would ever do anything dishonest like blasting fake crowd noise! Some of you guys are as naive as Kay Corleone, seriously.

Nah, only the vile and wicked Patriots would operate under the assumption that the first half is too soon to stop playing football.
The playing the whole 60 minutes came in handy today. I'd love to see Brady take Peyton's record.

I hate the pats as much as i hate the yankees but they are owning the NFL right now. Today's game stated that no matter how much they are down..they will still come back and bite you in the ass.

Now give it for the 4-4 Buffalo Bills! Marshawn Lynch should be the new QB haha.
Dang, I think all the Pats fans need a whole new thread to themselves
Nah, I like football in general. Impressive stories this weekend we can talk about: the 6-2 Lions, Adrian Peterson, the Browns..

I completely despise both the Patriots (for beating my Panthers in the Super Bowl) and Peyton Manning (if for the sole purpose I think he's a douche-bag). I'm completely disappointed in how the game turned out.

I wanted New England to win 53-2. Indy's two points from the safety would come on a cheap shot to Brady's knees in the end zone (ending his career). Then for retaliation NE would take out Manning at the knees (ending his career). Then there'd be a riot on the field causing every player to face a long suspension, so much so that neither team would have enough eligable players for the upcoming weeks, allowing the rest of the world to not be forced to watch the sports networks shove their heads up the asses of Brady/Pats and Manning/Colts.

However, all sides would still win: Boston fans can complain about how they weren't running up the score (despite 7 touchdowns, 1 two-point conversion, and a field goal) and how everyone is out to get them and how the other team can only beat them by playing dirty (a bit ironic, no?) and how they've been forced to watch shitty teams forever and how it's now their God-given right to do whatever they want as a result.

Indy fans can continue kissing Manning's ass as the "greatest quarterback in the history of mankind who's career was cut-short due to those damn Patriots, but even then he's still the bestest of all time. Ever."

Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the true outcome. However, I guess if I had to choose I'd rather see NE win (as much as I hate saying it, I'm kinda used to it now) and see Peyton look like he's either going to cry or kill somebody (probably both).

And in other (somewhat unrelated) news, damn, my Panthers look bad.

We would just run up the post count

How am I blinded? I see the Patriots winning, and I hate it.

In all honesty though I dislike the Patriots because they've got no class. First in foremost when they beat my Eagles in the Super Bowl I originally thought, "Ah fuck, this blows." Not really having any negative feelings towards the Patriots because they played a better game and won. Then I saw Tedy Bruschi take off his helmet and begin to mock the Eagles "wings" gesture or whatever that is and thought, "Mother fucker, you just won your 3rd Super Bowl and you need to act that way?"

Then of course the whole mess with the Chargers last year.
You guys are beating a dead horse, killing it, dragging it around the block, setting fire to it, then detonating it with a ton of C4.
True, let's change the subject then. Adrian Peterson! 296 rushing, 3 touchdowns and a whole 19 receiving! Wow...just wow.

I guess class is running the receiver out of town who almost won a superbowl for you on one leg. Because he rightfully called out your QB who was barely able to breathe at the end of the game because of to many helpings of soup

It was fun watching the Vikings run all over the Chargers.

I'm sick of people complaining about players celebrating. I can name you one player on every single team in the NFL that has done it - it will just take me some time to watch tape and make a list.

You know what I find more distasteful than players celebrating? Yes, that includes Donovan McNabb's little touchdown antics: Players who cry and whine to the media. I lost any respect I had for LaDainian Tomlinson since the whistle blew on that game and the Chargers lost. All he's done is run his mouth.

Christ, man...sometimes I think this isn't football so much as it is the Sensitivity Olympics. If you're going to complain about other players celebrating, be prepared to admonish your own players as well. Any Cowboys fans want to step up and call T.O. classless for his winged eagle mocking in the end zone tonight? What about you Philly fans who watched T.O. do the same sort of thing for your team during the SB season? How many times did Dwight Freeney and Bob Sanders flex their muscles tonight? Or celebrate after a sack? Players celebrate, it doesn't really bother me. I'd rather my own players smack them in the mouth and take away their reason for celebrating.

"Class" has to be one of the most overused, misunderstood CLICHES in the history of sports. You know what I find classless? Whining. Complaining. Fielding a horribly pathetic team. Supporting crappy ownership. Hypocrisy.

To attempt to justify Terrell's off-field antics is stupid in it's own. To publicly voice your distaste for your team-mates is the sort of thing that might get you benched for the rest of the season...oh wait. There's no class involved, it's just team management.

Maybe someone will feign stroke on the Patriots 50 yard line after beating them...then you'll know what it's like when doves cry.

You know what I love? That sports fans in general get to enjoy this whole Boston "holier than thou/world-beaters" attitude until the end of the NBA season.

Marshawn Lynch pulling a LT...passing to Robert Royal(TE) and then rushing one in.
LT...Eat your heart out! haha

and man is JP showing poise...I have to admit..i had Edwards in front of him..but he is making his statement firm. I hope JP can keep on playing like this.
How about Jamal Lewis scoring 4 touchdowns on 37 yards rushing? Awesome.
Yeah he pulled a Mike Alstott or Jerome Bettis. It was awesome except for the fact that I was playing against the guy who had him in my fantasy league :bomb:

My Roster / His Roster
Jay Cutler /Tom Brady
M. Jones-Drew /Jamal Lewis
Lendale White /Shaun Alexander
Dwanyne Bowe /Randy Moss
Hines Ward /Joey Galloway
Greg Jennings /Braylon Edwards
Kellen Winslow /Dallas Clark
Mason Crosby /Nick Folk
Tampa D /Minnesota D

Cutler and Bowe got injured early totally kicking me in the sack. Unless Hines Ward somehow scores 35 pts tonight I'm done.

Pats - Colts actually lived up to the hype. Such a good game. Bad guys won, but what are you gonna do?

The final (real) play of the game where Welker dropped to the ground as soon as he caught the ball rather than going out of bounds or trying to push for a few extra yards or a TD and risk a fumble just epitomizes how well coached and smart the Pats are.

Agreed..., except for the "bad guys won" part of course. The fact that the Patriots won against the second best team in the NFL in a extremely hostile away environment and with questionable officiating (to put it mildly) just shows how great this team is and why they will go undefeated to become Super Bowl champs.

Word.

I heard this morning that the officiating team that worked this game is a very inexperienced, in fact the head official is in his "rookie season." Lame.

Adrian Peterson is unreal.

I remember he was in the Heisman running his freshman year at Oklahoma, but injuries slowed him down in the following years and everyone jumped on the Reggie Bush bandwagon. If AP can stay healthy, the sky is the limit. The scary thing is that he is doing this without a QB, and while splitting carries earlier in the season.

Adrian Peterson = Beast.

They named him the starter either last week or the week before. And being the starter really doesn't mean anything if you are getting more carries then the other guy. Right now though what Peterson is doing is crazy.
Right now though what Peterson is doing is crazy.
It is, especially when you take into account that the Vikings have NO passing game, so he is facing 8 in the box almost every play. If the Vikes can get any kind of passing game going, it is only going to make it easier for him.

I'll say this much, this season has really been crazy to watch. Seeing the Browns and Lions step up has been fun to watch. AP running wild is great, the Pats dominating has been incredible. LT and LJ struggling early was unexpected, as is the emergence of Derek Anderson and the rebirth of Randy Moss. The all-universe play of Tom Brady...

NFL Football is just awesome to watch right now.

derek anderson is going to be very interesting to watch, i believe hes a free agent next year and with brady quinn on the bench i cant see cleveland wanting to sign him to a big long term contract. maybe hell end up in miami or san francisco! (im off the alex smith bandwagon) anderson with AP would make the vikings one hell of a contender.

biggest shockers of the year for me are stephan jackson (and the rams) doing so bad. and the one thats killing me the most is shaun alexander having such a shitty year, he fucked my fantasy draft over royally.

Agreed. I'm pumped for this weekends game in GB. I have tickets!
biggest shockers of the year for me are stephan jackson (and the rams) doing so bad.
Jackson has had some injury problems, though the first quarter against the Browns the Rams and Jackson looked like they had things together. But it has been a long season so far, especially reading about how the Rams had a shot at the NFC West
which isn't saying much
in the preseason.

Woo hoo for Packers: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7400078

They also pointed out the irony that Brady and Manning had accomplished the feat of beating all 31 others teams a week before Favre did it yesterday. I find it funny :p

Gah, but that game was intense. Man, lately all of Green Bay's games have been intense, I wish they'd stop raising everyone's blood pressure and heart rate, it's becoming too much :bomb:

I wish I could relax, but now they're gonna be playing a Vikings team that has Peterson coming out of some very impressive performances. Packers D better stop the run, they've been doing it all season, they can do it again. I'm just glad that the Vikings Pass Defense is pretty shabby

One thing I noticed about Favre, he keeps saying the same thing after every game, but it's true >.>

In a fantasy league that I've commished for many years, our only female manager in the league drafted him with her first round pick and we were all teasing her about it. Needless to say, she's currently crushing everyone on her way to the fantasy championship.

Everybody and their mom is picking the Steelers tonight over the Ravens. The spread is 9 points.

I am still worried though, just because they creamed us so hard both games last year. Its a different season though and tonights game may be a demonstration of how to exact revenge in the NFL, I hope.
