Who is better?

Ricky Williams at smoking weed.

or

Michael Vick at dog fighting?
Tough call. I'd say Ricky though. He's smoked more j's than Vick had dogs I'm sure.

I can't wait for Ricky's next big blowup/meltdown.

It's only a matter of time.

They should team up! Vick could run the dog fighting operation and Williams could sell the weed to the crowd like concessions at a ballgame!

Rick & Vick in business together, what a combo! ;)
Well it's official. The 49ers have totally turned on each other.

Nolan threw Smith under a bus.

Smith says 'his shoulder is killing him'.

Jesus, re-building part deux here we come. I was fine with rebuilding, cutting ties with T.O., Garcia, J. Peterson, Eric Johnson, anything to make this team better. Dealing with Donahue and Erickson, now Nolan.

That's it, York call up Bill Cowher, tell him you'll make him mayor of San Francisco. I can't take it anymore.
Yeah the team is a mess. It sucks they will have to more than likely start rebuilding AGAIN. Hopefully this mean Nolan and most of the staff is gone. They all need to shake things up in the front office. I would be all for Cowher.
Erik Ainge?? Pass...
Dude's 6'5, got a rocket of an arm, and would be a low-risk, high reward with a 3rd/4th Rounder. He has little mobility, only downside.

Mobility is becoming more and more of a necessity in the NFL, QB's gotta learn to throw on the run effectively ;O

They don't all need to be Vick, they just need to be a little shifty like Marino or Brady. As long as they're not statues like Drew Bledsoe. Not so much throwing on the run but evading pressure and buying a few more seconds to make a throw.
Mobility is becoming more and more of a necessity in the NFL, QB's gotta learn to throw on the run effectively ;O
Mobility isn't necessarily Vick-like or Roethlisberger. Just slide here and there like Manning and Brady. That said I haven't seen much of Ainge. I thought I read somewhere that Peyton Manning was working with him though?

Word, look at Brady and Manning, how they shift in the pocket, "Pocket Awareness" something that Alex Smith hasn't heard of...

Well notice how a lot of O lines tend to cave or not be able to give protection for a significant amount of time. What I mean by mobility is being able to move within the pocket and have some athleticism in avoiding a sack.

I'm pretty general because there are various situations a QB can get stuck in, so I just covered the whole shifting, awareness, running the ball, effectiveness outside the pocket, and evasion parts with mobility.

I'd also prefer the tallest QB I can get my hands on.

Marino wasn't that shifty, he just had an incredibly quick release. Drew Bledsoe Lacked that also.

Too bad Marino never won a Super Bowl ring :/
Too bad Marino never won a Super Bowl ring :/
Yea that does suck. Marino could always fall back on all his records though. Must suck since Brett Favre is breaking all his records left and right now.

Yea, I'm pretty sure Marino looked to those as some consolation, but nothing beats a super bowl victory.

For all the records he's established (and at present being broken), you'd think he would have at least 3 rings.

Alex Smith is a better QB than Erik Ainge. Watching him for years in the SEC, I can tell you that for a fact.

Ainge will not be anything more than a backup in this league. Mark it down.

let me preface this by saying Alex Smith is not a horriblle... i mean you could have Kyle Boller...

anyway... you really can't compare Ainge and Smith and their college careers.. SEC is ten times tougher the conference than the WAC or whatever conf Utah was in... the problem with Ainge is he gets injured a lot and he can't get out of the way of the rush like a Big Ben..he will struggle in the pros...

I thought flex scheduling was exactly so you wouldnt have games like the STeelers v. Dolphins next monday night!?

WTF?

THe only thing making this somewhat interestign should be ricky's return.
Marino wasn't that shifty, he just had an incredibly quick release. Drew Bledsoe Lacked that also.
Marino didn't have any mobility but he had enough awareness to get away from guys long enough to use his quick release. Very tough guy to sack.

Bledsoe was a statue who took forever to get rid of the ball. One of the best arms I've ever seen, though.

Not saying Ainge is the answer, but the 49ers have to look around.

Derek Anderson is a RFA, so no way in hell i'm giving up a 3rd/2nd rounder for him.

McNabb is not coming to SF.

In the draft 3 Qb's will be drafted in 1st round, Ryan, Woodson, Brohm. After that, it's really a crap shoot. Drafting Ainge, gives them someone to at least push Smith for the starting job.

wheres jim drunk off miller
Andre Woodson would be a solid pick...
Oh please believe i'm on the Andre Woodson train, shit i'm driving the son of a bitch. But he'll be gone in the top 15.

Here's an interesting article on flex scheduling w/ predictions.
http://www.hdsportsguide.com/NFLFlexSchedule.php\

Basically, CBS and FOX get a chance to protect the big games except for week 17. Also, certain teams, like the Pats, are reaching their limit for PT games.

All in all, that could leave us with Tampa at San Fran week 16! It doesn't seem like flex scheduling really makes that much of a difference, maybe a couple good games each year and that's it. I guess it's better than nothing...

Hey, check this out, an interesting tidbit for Tomorrows Packers v. Panthers game
If Vinny Testaverde (44 years, 5 days old on Sunday) starts vs. Green Bay, he and Brett Favre (38 years, 39 days old on Sunday), will combine for the oldest starting QB duo in history (82 years, 44 days).

I thought flex scheduling only goes for NBC and the Sunday night games. I don't think MNF and ESPN can do flex scheduling.

Oh, and lol @ Adam Vinatieri.

wow this is major bullshit

instead of fox putting the Giants game...they decided to put on some byron allen crap

why would they do that? no one cares about tom cruises thoughts on "lions for lambs"
That's because the NFL, in all it's wisdom, won't give you four afternoon games.
well thats great, because while everyone is watching the giants game, im watching a re-run of stargate atlantis on fox (because "kickin it with byron allen" is over)

the miami/philly game sucks

I'm stuck with TB/Atlanta and SD/Jax.

So yeah, I'm watching the MLS Cup Final.

Edit: Flipped over, and the fans in Atlanta are chanting 'Joey, Joey.'

Yikes, even the worst NFL match-ups are better than any lame soccer game IMHO.

I still don't know how Byron Allen has a job on TV.

So far the Giants/Lions game has been boring though.

Bored as hell AND commercials every three minutes? No thanks.
Our season was already over, but another injury to McNabb is all we needed.
Yeah, no kidding. You see they sat Kearse? I think it's going to be rebuilding time soon.
Our season was already over, but another injury to McNabb is all we needed.
Join the club. Since the first game against SD when we lost Dusty Dvoriak and Mike Brown for the season my Bears have been devistated by injury.

Can we get a 10 pt handicap for starting Grossman just to make things a little more even?

I hope the Browns don't lose because of that terrible call.

Edit: The Browns got robbed.

Edit: The Browns didn't get robbed. Dawson comes through in the clutch.
