NFL 2007 Season Thread

Jim Rome is awesome. I love listening to his show. Hearing him whine about the end to his perfect season is going to be money.

Also monkeydeew don't forget the clones who are actually money on the phone. Jeff in Richmond had me rolling so hard Friday.

Man the Cowboys players are dropping like flies. Looks like any fantasy teams that rode Romo, T.O., Brady, and Moss into the playoffs are getting fucked!

It only took all season for teams to realize how to shut those weapons down!

Picking up Anthony Gonzalez last week was a good idea for my team, let's see if I hang in there.

Oh man, any fantasy teams that have Westbrook right now have to be pissed! It's a smart play for the moment (provided they don't make a mistake like a fumble) but that was a sure TD he gave away!

It was a pretty smart move although a TD would've been nice. Remember earlier this year when Greise and your Bears beat us in the last 2 minutes from like the 1? We don't want that again!

I agree it was a smart play I'm just saying that if that were my player I would be pissed I lost out on the 6 pts.

First kickoff return for a TD in Bucs history! Too bad I was at work and didn't get to see it :(

I've been waiting my whole life.

Oh, I know. I was just trying to recall that time we kicked away from Hester and got great field position...and lost the game.
Helped by calling a pass interference penalty pass interference? Helped by giving the coach a timeout when he called for it? I'm not quite sure I follow you, sir.
Thats funny because Billick never did call the timeout.
Thats funny because Billick never did call the timeout.
The timeout was CLEARLY called prior to the snap. If they let the play go and they got the first down everyone would still be bitching.

The Skins are staying true to form. They barely stay in the playoff hunt and either just squeak in or (most of the time) just miss it.

I think if the Eagles can beat the Saints next week and the Skins can beat the Vikes they'll be in the driver seat. Then hopefully Dallas will rest all of their starters for the last game of the season... and the Skins will end up losing to the Dallas practice squad.

Wow this was another crazy week in the nfl
-Blizzard Bowl
-Fin-ally
-The pats not blowing out the jets
-Dallas loses
-Skins Pull out a win (Go Skins!)
I wonder whats gonna happen next week

Dallas didn't just lose they stunk the place up. Romo needs to get his head int he game instead of fucking around with them hoes :) he has all of off season to do that shit.

We still have tonight's Vikings vs Bears game.

Best part of the Dallas game was when Joe Buck asked out loud 'I wonder what Tony Romo got for Christmas?' while showing a shot of Simpson wearing his jersey.

BTW, she was looking hot as hell, too.
T.O. is such a little whiner when shit isn't going his way. Anyone else see him pouting on the sideline?
Sure did:applause: I am a die hard Eagles fan and though the year was shitty at least we beat the Cowboys:lol:

You don't get it do you? Only players and headcoaches can call the timeout. Plus Brady was stuffed.
You don't get it do you? Only players and headcoaches can call the timeout. Plus Brady was stuffed.
YOU don't get it do you? Referees are instructed to grant last-second timeout requests from the bench.

"Mike Pereira, NFL senior vice president of officiating, agreed with all the controversial calls made by the officials during the Ravens' 27-24 Monday night loss to New England...

On the last-second timeout by the Ravens in the fourth quarter, Pereira said the NFL might have to tweak the rule to say any coach on the sideline can call a timeout.

By rule, only the head coach or a player is allowed to call a timeout, but according to an NFL spokesman, officials are instructed to grant a last-second request from the bench area for a timeout.

Pereira said an official can't recognize whether it's the head coach or an assistant asking for a timeout if the official is watching the snap of the ball.

"Common sense says we're going to grant it to whoever calls it," Pereira said."
Has anybody mentioned that the Patriots are cheaters lately...because they are.
This type of bitterness has made this season's dominance so much fun. Thank you. Funny, the so-called cheating (BS) got stopped in week 1, so...how about them 14-0 Pats?

But don't worry, Doucheliisberger still played a "great" game, according to the announcers. The Jags must have been cheating, too.
Has anybody mentioned that the Patriots are cheaters lately...because they are.
Has anyone mentioned that the Steelers will lose in the first round of the playoffs?...because they will.

To top it off, they might end up losing the AFC North to the Browns.

No, YOU don't get it either do you? Rules are rules, you can't just break a rule and back the official up, they're just covering their mistakes and thats what exactly the NFL spokesman is doing.

If an official can't recognize who the headcoach of a team is, they shouldn't be reffing.

Can we stop talking about this?

You're not going to be able to recognize someone's voice when they're yelling at full scream for a time out.

Stop being obstinate.

So if a waterboy calls a timeout they'll grant it also? Don't be stupid.
Can we stop talking about this?
Sure, as long as people stop doing this:
Has anybody mentioned that the Patriots are cheaters lately...because they are.
I mean seriously, talk about being a bitter hater.

ANYWAY. I finally get to watch Adrian Peterson through a whole game. Hope he's good tonight.
So if a waterboy calls a timeout they'll grant it also? Don't be stupid.
If the ref hears time out, then it should be granted. It's not the ref's job to decipher where the head coach is and what his voice sounds like.

Don't be retarded.

Keep trying to defend the refs, they were clearly wrong, fucktard.
Keep trying to defend the refs, they were clearly wrong, fucktard.
Whatever, kid.

Stand with your back to 100 people, watch the line of scrimmage with the most intensity you've ever had. Now try and tell me you can pinpoint exactly where the head coach is, what his voice says, and try to stop the play while 50k fans are screaming.

Until you've been in that situation, or ANY type of situation that even closely compares to that, STFU. I can tell you haven't.

When you ref or umpire something, who gives a fuck what happens behind you. It's not your concern. If you don't fucking pay attention to the shit in front of you, you get canned. Or death threats, whatever is scarier to you.

If I hear someone behind me call time, and I can give it? It's given. If it wasn't you who called it, or you didn't mean to, too fucking bad.

You can't stop to look who is calling the timeout, and you can't expect to recognize someone's voice. If it wasn't a HC that called it, throw a flag. But don't shit on the refs for this one.

Hmm, kind of funny how both Adrian Petersons' are on offense and going against each other in the Running Back position.

Never thought I'd see that in the NFL

Whoa, I thought they only had the same last name. Bout time someone scores a TD, game was getting boring.

Edit : WTF was that penalty about? The guy was barely out of bounds before the bears dude hit him.

Actually Julius Jones (DAL) played against Thomas Jones (NY Jets) on Thanksgiving Day this year. They actually played again against each other when Thomas was with Chicago in 2004.

Also it looked like Brady let up ever so slightly on that play. He didn't tunnel forward like he usually does on those type of sneaks. I'm thinking he heard the whistle
