NFL 2007 Season Thread
Argh I'm stuck watching the Packers/Vikings game when they should have showed the Dallas/Rams Game.
We got the Dallas/Rams game here in KC. I'd rather have the Bears/Packers.

BTW whoever started Romo in their fantasy league is scoring some massive points!!!

fuck ing Bears. We put in Greise and I think he has a worse QB rating than Rex. He's also turned the ball over twice in the red zone and once it was run back for a TD.

I know I know.

Its one of the worst games of the season. 2 Blocked field goals. 1 blocked PAT something like 8 fumbles combined. 2 or 3 INT. About 22 flags. And another 8 or 9 sacks.

Both of these teams suck so damn bad.

The worst thing about it.....is that fucking lions fans use anything as an excuse to say the lions are on track to do big things. All they have done is figured out how to beat the worst teams in the league.

Oak? The one team worst than them last year.

The Vikings? T. Jackson....nuff said.

Philly? This is were the lions show their true colors as they get eaten alive by a team with a good QB. D-nabb doesnt even have that great of WR but he picked them apart.

Now they beat the Bears who have no QB's what so ever. Their Defense is so full of injuries that you cant even call it the same defense as last year. And none of their players can hold on to the ball.

God I hate Lion fans.:bomb:

These hometown announcers in the Miami game are pissing me off. And Joey Porter "guaranteeing" a win for the Fins, what an idiot. Go Raiders!!!

Honestly? Do the lions and bears even teach holding on to the ball?

There has been like 8 fumbles in this game.

Living in Detroit is honestly making hate football.

I'm on the verge of quitting on the 49ers this season. I know it's only 4 games, but Hostler must go, and early reports are Alex Smith is out at least a month. GREAT.

For all those wanting Dilfer, you got him, and saw what Smith had to deal with.

Dammit, and Frank Gore was my #1 pick in my fantasy draft. He's done almost nothing for me.

It's not his fault, they're putting 9 GUYS IN THE Box, not the regular 7, not the huge 8, but I counted NINE. The recievers are dropping everything, the o-line commited penalties for insane yards, the defense played very well but had 0 time to rest.

tough game against the Cards... so many people got injured.. Polamalu, Hampton, Hoke, Townsend, McFadden.. they were running on fumes by the 3rd qtr...

I know, I'm not saying it's his fault. I picked him because I expected the rest of the offense to be at least decent. Of course when they know you can't pass teams are going to stack the box and shut your running game down.
no threat at WR = 8 in the box.
It's not even about having a threat at WR, it's about getting some time to throw the ball, look what Brady did last year with crap (I'm not comparing Smith/Dilfer to Brady) but i'd say a nucleus of Jackson/Battle/Davis isn't the worst you can do.

i agree with that but NE's offense is unque to have that...to take the focus off of gore.. you gotta have a passing threat.. Smith can throw to whoever he wants but when receivers aren't gettin open and are dropping passes...it's not all on Smith..

I love that Dallas is still rolling and that Pittsburgh got beat by the Cards.

Pittsburgh being beat is some funny shit. I can't wait to roll into work and see all the Steelers fans. That Look = Classic Moment.

I know it doesn't mean much, the Dolphins suck, but Culpepper was a fucking monster. I really hope McCown only comes in as a backup from now on. Damn gimp. And then Jordan screws his back up.. But Fargas manages to come in and hold Oakland's rushing title for this season. I'm kind of scared for Jordan, seems like it could be serious.

49ers.. Ouch. :whistle2:(

Derrick Ward wasn't supposed to play today, and then he did! Screwed up my fantasy lineup..
BTW whoever started Romo in their fantasy league is scoring some massive points!!!
Ahah, I really hope I'm not the only person raising my hand.. Massive points indeed. He was pretty much my whole game.

Bah, Culpepper had alot of motivation today. They should start McCown back as soon as he's able to go. Culpepper isn't anywhere NEAR where he was playing-wise, and a few times you could see him process the field way too slowly. Jordan worries me too, but at least the bye is here. I guess Dominic Rhodes will get the call if Jordan is really messed up.

Yoou should see the clip that they just showed locally of McNAbb walking down the tunnel in Giants Stadium after the game. He looked so messed up it was funny.

He was taking steps, but instead of a normal stride, his whole body would sway. And his legs didn't step forward, they stepped forward and out like he was swinging his legs. He got hit around least 35 times tonight. and knocked down for around 20.

I dont know how anyone could take something good away from the Bears Lions game. It was like a backyard football game. Complete with fumbles, INT, and just overall horrid football.

Today was just a bad day overall for football.

For some reason I am quickly loosing interest in football this year. I dont know why.

we'll see what happens when the Boys actually start playing some good teams..

Patriots by 42 tonight. Brady will throw for 5 touchdown, including one to himself, but not off of a tipped ball. He'll just lob it high in the air and run under it, past the lousy Bengals defense.

God I am sick of everyone jerking off to Brett Favre! He's a great player (as a Bears fan typing those words about a GB player made me throw up in my mouth a little) but enough is enough.

Man it showed that half of the Bears starting defense was out yesterday. The Lions are the biggest 3-1 fraud in the NFL.

Hah! McNabb scored my wife -8.1 this week. 12 sacks, 1 lost fumble. She was getting blown out anyway so its not so bad.

Last year, a guy in our league had a 2 point lead going into Monday nite. His opponent was done. He had Grossman left.
Yup, that was against AZ so he ended up pulling out a loss.

*sniff*....Chicago still lost to the Lions. I'll take 3-1 any way I can get it.

Detroit was without the Megatron and Woody.

You're just jealous because you've had 22 QBs since he came in the league?

Will Furrer
Jim Harbaugh
Peter Tom Willis
Shane Matthews
Erik Kramer
Steve Walsh
Steve Stenstrom
Dave Krieg
Rick Mirer
Moses Moreno
Cade McNown
Jim Miller
Henry Burris
Chris Chandler
Cory Sauter
Rex Grossman
Kordell Stewart
Craig Krenzel
Jonathan Quinn
Chad Hutchinson
Kyle Orton
Brian Greise
You're just jealous because you've had 22 QBs since he came in the league?
or how about the fact that they haven't had a good qb in over 30 years?
or how about the fact that they haven't had a good qb in over 30 years?
Or that they give up on QB's really quickly. I'd like to see Kyle Orton get another chance, personally.

no respect for the hr or touchdown kings, sippin on that haterade eh?

I'll second that. Though I still wonder if he has ever gotten over the crushing defeat in Camp Randall, I do think he could turn out to be a gem after a bit more experiance

If you aren't a Packer fan, it is hard to get how truly awesome it really is to have someone like Favre behind center, week in week out, for 17 seasons. He is the man, and still is. Even the biggest douchebag sports writers who had been saying that he lost in and should have retired are changing their tune. He is still one of the best QB's in the league and if the season ended today, I think you could make a pretty strong argument for a 4th MVP.
we'll see what happens when the Boys actually start playing some good teams..
Yea but atleast dem Cowboys can beat them weaker teams. Pittsburgh prolly has the easiest schedule out of all the teams this year.

Cleveland
Buffalo
49ers
Cards
Seahawks - Decent Game
Bye
Denver - Decent Game

Then they have a cake walk all the way to week 14 until they play the Pats.

We'll see what Dallas is made of when they play the Pats in a couple of weeks. Hopefully those Steelers keep on losing.

Favre is probably my favorite QB in the NFL. He is one of the last players in the game today when I started to watch football back in 93. I hope he never leaves :)

I'd imagine that he's gotten over, but being rushed into the starting job as a rookie couldn't have been much help. I noticed on his wiki that he nearly edged out Griese for the backup spot, so it seems like he's on track to get some playing time if neither Griese or Grossman can turn things around. At least he hasn't turned into another Craig Krenzel.
no respect for the hr or touchdown kings, sippin on that haterade eh?
Please go away you pathetic thread troll. At least Favre earned his records legitimately, unlike Barry Bonds * I admit Favre is a hall of fame player but I don't want to have to sit there and listen to all of the pregame shows talk about it every week for the whole season. He broke the record, congrats, now move on.

I would also like to see the Bears give Orton another shot. Even if Greise starts playing better he's not the future. That's also why I say if we lose to the Packers next week I'm rooting for a 1-15 season. That way maybe we can get the top pick and nab someone like Brahm from Louisville. We may have had horrible luck at QB (you can throw McMahon on the list as well. He was tough and managed the offense but he was far from great) but we've had some of the greatest running backs and defenses of all time.

49ers, Cards and Seahawk are better than Miami, a depleted Stl
LOL. I read that Ricky Williams filed for reinstatement today. Seriously Ricky?
last time i checked ricky williams has proven he could get the job done and has pretty fresh legs. but alas you will probably sip more haterade on your high horse

#1 - the guy is huge risk off the back with his constant drug usage.. if the guy lasts the whole season without toking up....

#2 - he broke his leg last year with the cfl, and he is 2 yrs older than he was the last time he was a proven running bavk in the league...

the guy is a huge risk and for minimal reward...
the guy is a huge risk and for minimal reward...
What is the risk? NFL contracts are not guaranteed, and he'll probably get a 1 year contract for short money anyway. If he doesn't work out, cut him, nothing gained and nothing lost.

If you're someone like Tampa who just lost their starting RB, why not? Corey Dillon just turned them down. Who else could you get off the street that could have that kind of impact?

1 roster spot after training camp for drugged out rb...that is a huge risk depending on who you'd drop for him... I doubt teams want him

I'm sure cutting the last man on your roster will have a profound impact on your team.

Tampa needs to go out and sign a RB anyway, so this is not that kind of situation. All they have to choose from are street free agents, and Ricky Williams is clearly the best of that group. Who else is out there?

Green Bay could use some running game and Ricky Williams would do great there.
