Nine Inch Nails: Wave Goodbye (1989-2009)

Site was just getting hammered. Refreshing just got you in eventually. Had to refresh 3 times myself to get it to load.
Any jab at Cornell for that shitty album is just fine with me. :)
I Want to say anything after he left Soundgarden.

If you guys haven't seen Kevin Rose's Digg interview with Trent, it's on the Variety website...and it's amazing.

Trent looks a little bloated and sweaty, though...hope he's not back on the crack.

Glad that wasn't just me. Yeah, he looked a bit off when I was watching that.

Just got back from seeing them live. Amazing. I really do hope this isn't their last tour forever, just for a while.

Really disappointed that NIN opened for JA but then otherwise it wouldn't spell ninja..

What!? They opened for JA? It didn't even cross my mind that they would. I'd be pissed.

This is what Trent Said About opening for JA...
Regarding the NIN/JA tour:
It was my idea, decision and job to convince all parties (from my own band to Janes') to play before JA. Here is why. We've become tired of the "formal", very structured LITS - type production and way of presenting the band. The idea of walking onstage as the sun is about to set and play a bunch of unexpected material that's exciting for us to play without the bogged-down, flashy production appeals to me. You get to see us in a way you haven't before. Yes, it's different. Yes, the set lists will amaze some and bum-out many others. Everyone had ample opportunities to see LITS, and that era is over. We play our set leading you into the evening bathed in only white light in a physically tight setup, then Jane's come out in full color and openness. The challenge for us is greater, the set feels much riskier (especially with the challenging flow of the set lists I'm making) and that makes it exciting and valid for us.
I really dig the songs Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper added to the NINJA EP, but I thought the NIN tracks were pretty boring, though I haven't LOVED any NIN since The Fragile. Also the JA tracks were only re-recordings of old live tracks, I want new songs!

Ugh, closing the show with hurt again... I hoped he was done doing that after the amazing close he did for the LITS tour. Oh well, at least I don't have to see him do Closer again for the 800th time... How many people left after NIN was done? I was actually thinking of doing that, if after 5-10mins Jane's didn't get get my attention...

In Austin, there were probably more people there for JA than NIN. Then again, that's Austin.

Here are a couple of videos from when I was there. The quality isn't great. My seats were better than the video shows:

I was at the West Palm Beach show.

Greatest show ever even if everybody who worked at the Amphitheater were complete dicks and I left early because I didn't like JA. I bought a bitchin' green NIN shirt.

Street Sweeper were awesome. Tom played a solo with his teeth

First time NIN ever played I'm Afraid Of Americans/Metal/Gone, Still :) and I was there

Holy balls, the show was fucking AWESOME. Had pit tickets and was right up front near the barricade.

Street Sweeper put on an awesome show and NIN blew me away. Although I wish they had done those lighting effects from the LITS tour, but the music was so amazing. I left after Jane's Addiction played Mountain Song, since I have no knowledge of them, but they were pretty sweet.

That is an AMAZING setlist... I hope to god the show I'm going to has the same... On that note, how early was the sound check? And also, was everyone allowed to be in there for it?

It started some time around 4PM EST. Not exactly sure of the time but my Twitter tells me that La Mer was played at around 4:48

NIN.com presale people were let in early but we either had to go to the bar or the line for the pit. Nobody was actually able to watch it.

It's so loud though you will be able to hear it outside the amphitheater. I could hear it out in the parking lot.

Saw them last night. Wow, that was friggin fun show. Street Sweeper was just amazing and fun to watch and they really got everyone hyped up and Tom Morello's many solo's were just incredible. Also on their last song Tom Morello was trying to get everyone to stand up and he pointed at one of people in the audience and said "You! Don't think cutting yourself is going to get you out of this!"

The NIN set was sweet, got to hear Mr.Self Destruct, Heresy and Dead Souls. There was also the feel that this maybe their last show ever and it just made it all the more epic.

Jane's Addiction was fun, Perry was everywhere and his rants were so drugtacular and insane. "You know beer needs water and you know where water comes from? The ocean!"

I won an autographed Ritual de lo Habitual lithograph from xiola.org. Check it out:

I still have about 2 weeks before I get to see the NINJA tour but I'm super psyched for it!

Anyone get tickets to these last couple NIN shows in NY, LA, or Chicago? There were sales and pre-sales for NYC today, and I got nothing :cold:

I was going to try to get NYC tickets, but they're kind of expensive and its about a 2 hour drive for me. I hope he plays Closer for 2 hours so I'll know I missed nothing :p

Somehow snagged a single ticket for the Bowery Ballroom show. I want to try to get one for Terminal 5 when they go on sale on the 31st, too.

 Goddamn you are lucky. I'm also trying for T5. Let me know if you get any extras.

Did you get a ticket for either of the T5 shows, Pete? The internet gods must be on my side because I just got a single ticket for each of them.

That's going to be a LONG week!

The Nine Inch Nails crew seem to be recording these last shows (besides tonight)

Hopefully another video release will be somewhere down the road. I'd love to see another hi-def release to go along with the previous one.
Dead Souls? Wow, really? That's awesome. Wish they would've played that either time I went to see them.
Yeah, I was able to see it once and it is a pretty cool song. I still would have swapped it for either Starfuckers, Deep, or Into The Void.

Shame I couldn't make it to one of these final shows but four shows over five years isn't bad at all.
