Nintendo 3DS - General Discussion Thread
I'm surprised that quite a few of you disliked phantom hourglass/spirit tracks. I enjoyed both, but my had trouble at the time blowing into the mic on spirit tracks. I had a terrible case of sinusitus and would hack and cough like crazy when trying to do it. But I persevered!

I would love a remake of LTTP. It's still a beautiful game, just imagine it cleaned up and in 3D.
I enjoyed both too! I don't understand the hate!

how much smaller is the DSI XL compair to the 3ds...

i had no interest in buying a 3ds BUT since it seems my DSI XL is starting to go bad and

NINTENDO WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TRANSFER DSIWERE games from dsI to dsi

ONLY DSI To 3DS it seems im forced to

either buy a 3DS or lose almost 150 bucks in games i downloaded

The size difference is like a DS lite to a DSi XL, basically.

ouch sort of hated how small the ds lite was.. hopefully nintendo does something to allow dsi to dsi but never happen

I thought you could transfer DSi to DSi with the Transfer App.

And yeah, the 3DS is a smidge, just a smidge bit bigger than a DS lite.

Can someone tell me if Devil Survivor Overclocked is already out of print? It seems to be going up in price everywhere and no nearby Gamestop's have any copies in stock. I don't have a 3DS, but my friend wants a copy of this game.

Not sure if it's OOP, but I know it was starting to get pretty hard to find not too long after its launch.

It already had one reprint. There probably will be another eventually.

If you send both DSi's into Nintendo, they'll do it for you. You have to pay for shipping though.

Heads Up: There's a New Panel being sent out via Spot Pass (although I haven't gotten it) for
Kid Icarus: Uprising

EDIT: NVM, just got it! I didn't get a Purple Piece, though.

Basically, Nintendo can now send new Puzzles via Spot Pass, which is not great since they'll do this to torment people who want to complete every Puzzle.
http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-Protector/dp/B004K6LQ9Y

do you have this one? ^^^

Because there is no hinge support and I can see why it wobbles.

I have the same CTA an it does add some thickness, it's awesome.
Yeah that's the one I have. So you think the CTA one will stop the wobble?
I still wish I could get 20 Play Coins a day. There's so many things that use Play Coins now.
I've been doing the "change date cheat" (sometimes several times a day) to get extra coins. Since I walk a lot I figured I'd get the most out of it that way.

It's great that we can use the coins for different things but I wish they would raise the daily limit too. Just yesterday my 3DS clocked 18,000+ steps. With the amount of walking I do, I'd make hundreds of coins!:D
It should... I don't have a wobble on mine. I think it'll put pressure enough so it won't move.

CTA? Can you link to your solution to the wobble
CTA? Can you link to your solution to the wobble
Here it is, you can get it at Amazon too. I think maybe the hinges on the sides keep it from wobbling. I'm a little wary of the hinges possibly digging into or marring the corners but I guess I'll find out.
From Walmart.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/CTA-Nintendo-3DS-Crystal-Case-3DS-Nintendo-3DS/16489863

looks flimsy at first but once you pop in the 3DS it makes nice and the reinforces the hinge. $9.96 seems like wtf it's just plastic, but it's worth it. Plus if you feel freaky you can decorate it with stickers on the outside or put a picture of your favorite character/model/mascot inside.
yeah Skeeter posted the one I have.

You can get it from Amazon like I did.

And the inside hinge doesn't move, but I don't think it will dig into it.... I mean, having one without will probably put on more wear than what the case will.. It's very tight and doesn't move, so overall, maybe not that same as my Hori DS lite case, but damn near close enough.

I really wish the 3DS didn't have so many crazy curves.

Anyone know what's the deal with the strange "game credits" message from Swapnote today? What's that about? Even stranger is, the message played as soon as I opened the software and now I can't even find it on my list.

On another note (pun intended) did anyone get Nikki from Swapnote in your mii plaza as a special mii? It says she got there by special invitation, how did that happen? I wonder if there are any other special miis and how to get them?

Hm, I haven't gotten that message or Nikki. Maybe it triggers when a certain number of notes are sent/received.
How do you update?

Just download it again from the list?

And what does the update do?
Just go to the eShop and it should prompt you.

NES Updates add:
-Save States
- A New Icon for the Game on the 3DS Menu

Awesome, thanks!

Mario Bros. also has an update out.

I also have Nikki in my plaza. She's been there for 17 days. No "game credits" note, though I did get one from the Producer of Legend of Zelda stating he appreciated the fans and to look forward to the next LoZ game.

Maybe, though I can't tell because there is no message count.

How do you think Nikki got there? She was in my mii plaza about a week before the game credits event happened. The credits came on automatically when I opened Swapnote, it wasn't actually a note that was sent to me.
You get the Game Credits once you send 100 Notes.
I know I didn't write that many but I do transmit a note via StreetPass. My brother always receives it because I see him daily, in addition to other people that I randomly SP outside. Maybe that's how I got to 100. Still, why is there no message counter?

Just finished Revelations, and boy I really did not enjoy that game. For the most part it felt like one long, annoying chore to play through. It looked great, but I definitely should have waited for some kind of sale on the one. It also really continues to make me long for a 3DS with a larger & improved screen.

So far Super Mario 3d Land is my favorite 3DS game, and MK7/Z:OoT/TotA are tied for second :)
finally got the zelda swapnote. Was worried I wasn't going to get it, as I wanted the background. Cool stuff.
That's the one I streetpass, just to spread the love.
That's the one I streetpass, just to spread the love.
That's a great idea! Didn't realize you could street pass messages you didn't create yourself. I'll start that too for those that didn't/don't get it.

I created a new note with that stationary.

Anyone else having a problem with the eShop? It sits on the load screen and never changes, and when I powered it off the screen went black but it took another good 2 minutes to actually shut the 3DS off. Very strange.

They're probably testing something, like an update that changes the interface of the eShop in some way, like adding an additional row to the bottom screen, but doesn't add a 'search by genre' option or 'show all' option. That's usually when glitches like that can occur.

Won't everyone who has Swapnote get the Zelda stationery eventually or do they have to meet certain requirements like with the game credits?

Got a Streetpass yesterday and realized that Nikki has also been in my Plaza for 20 days. Way to let me know, 3DS. ;)

Also, if you like Picross, you should have already gotten Mario's Picross for 100 coins this month. Seriously, do it.

I would be all over that if touch controls were added. Way too used to Picross DS

Allegedly you only get the note if you've played OOT3D, but I can't confirm that. I keep sending notes though and I can't seem to use the stationery.

My Power Grip (http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-Grip-3DS-Nintendo/dp/B0057WWR0C/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt) had stopped charging and was essentially a paperweight. Best Buy had had them for $10, but I went back today and they were $30. I grabbed a new one, went to customer service, and told them it had stopped working after 2 months. They looked up my Reward Zone account, saw the original purchase, and swapped it out.

I was surprised and impressed with how easy it was, considering I didn't have my receipt. Too bad the price has been adjusted, but I still recommend it. The added battery life along with the ergonomics make the 3DS infinitely better to me. This is a rare instance where I was better off buying at B&M instead of online.

Finished Find Mii 2 yesterday, and started the Secret Quest. I got a good way into it as well.

I also got a new Puzzle from a Street Pass today: OOT 3D. The person I got it from had another new Puzzle as well (I'm assuming it's Donkey Kong) so hopefully I'll be able to get that same Puzzle if I can play my cards right.

Didn't those puzzles come with the last update? I think that's how I got mine.

Well I got the CTA case today...ummm...no

This thing definitely does stop the wobble because it is WAY too tight! It has these inner prong things that marred the sides of my system. Also the hinges scraped against the corners of the 3DS and made a loud scratching sound when opening/closing.

The fact that the company actually had to make a youtube video on how to remove it should have been a red flag for me. It was a lot harder than was demonstrated and took me about 15 min until I had to get a plastic knife to use as a tool for leverage to get the damn thing off!
