Pokemon Go! I caught a Charmander, Pidgey, and Poliwag! I like how I'm looking forward to going out later to see what I can catch. Catching appears discreet. You shouldn't look like some kind of idiot while on your adult quest to catch 'em all.

Not an eShop but Nintendo related. Pokémon Go is now available in the US
My oldest son (who will be 17 in a few months) stopped playing the PS4 last night, came down stairs with his shoes on, phone in hand, and said... "Pokemon Go came out, I'm going to the track to try and catch some Pokemon". Granted I'm glad to see him get out of the house and walk... and he told me before this ever came out that he would probably be doing this. Still, I hope this doesn't turn into a freemium addiction where he needs to spend actual money because the equipment needed to catch certain pokemon or whatever is locked behind a paywall. I typically hate all of these predatory type marketing schemes... I hope this one is different.

Gauging from reports you're going to need to pay for things like Pokeballs and the like. You CAN gather coins to do so at different Poke stops along the way but I gather that it's rare-ish.

Personally, unlimited data on my phone is awesome. I turned it on last night to catch my Charmander. I also scouted my route to work so I have a rough idea that it's going to take me an extra 20-30 minutes to get anywhere today :)

Well, you start out with 50 Poké Balls and Poké Stops give out items, which, judging from the videos I've seen, include at least 3 Poké Balls.

I only had a few Stops in my town, but San Francisco had dozens. Depending on your area, getting Poké Balls will be easy as pie. Now, no clue if that will hold true whenever they bring in Great and Ultra Balls, but for now it's easy to stock up.

Here's some videos of Pokemon Go in action:

Steel Lords - $14.99

Tap Tap Arcade 2 - $2.99

I'd love to see Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 get a release on the eShop since that's the baseball game I had on my SNES as a kid. Loved putting the 90s Cleveland Indians in the game and playing with them.

My lady got the birthday offer on her profile for her birthday this month... but all of the eshop credit is loaded onto my profile. Called Nintendo and obviously there's no way to transfer between profiles.  :wall:

More of Nintendo not understanding the concept of a "family" that (heaven forbid) might own multiple consoles. They make us have different accounts for consoles, then make us treat those account completely separate.

Worse than that, it's two profiles on the exact same console. Who both use the same games. But can't use the same eshop credit?

Is this a feature that's common? I can't recall any services that don't tie credit to an account.
True, it isn't common, but neither are Nintendo's account functions. Everything is console based. Since both accounts are tied to the same console and use the same games within the console, it'd just make sense to be able to use the same eshop credit within that console.

Maybe I'm way off base, though. I'm really just complaining because I want to save $15 on Wooly World.

But you can't do that anywhere.

My wife can't use my PSN credit. Also there are several coupons that are account/console specifc or one time use only on PSN too.

I get it, you want to save some money and use the eshop money you already have. That does stink and you would think the CS agent could find a way to get you another coupon, but this isn't something that is allowed anywhere else.

OMG, are you serious? Damn, just when I thought these clowns couldn't get any worse.

Well, at least you have the credit. My son want's to be a part of "My Nintendo", but he's only 10, so I can't set up his system as a "family" like I could with Club Nintendo. I swear, for every step forward "N" takes, they go back 10.

The only thing that's different than the other systems is that you can't easily login to your account on other Wii U or 3DS systems, though I could be forgetting something. It's probably better security to have credit tied to accounts and not the system itself.

I know I was being flippant, but have the eShop Picross games ever been on sale? If not, I guess it is futile to wait for that.

No, that's why I told people to buy them at launch due to being good deals and Nintendo needing to know that there's an audience that deserves some respect and recognition.

Yeah, it's that difference that I figured would make the difference, though. You can't login to your account on another system at all unless you contact Nintendo and have the account removed from a system, which is an ordeal. That seems like plenty of security to me. But oh well.

Yeah, I have Picross DS and Picross 3D and enjoyed them. Are the eShop games similar in scope, even with the much lower price?

My wife can't use my PSN credit.
My oldest son's PSN account is a sub account on my account so I can actually give him a budget for the month to spend from my PSN credit and he can spend it. But then the license ends up on his account, so we don't do that except for random game expansions or something that I honestly don't care about. As for coupons and stuff on PSN... seems like they all come as a code so you can pretty much give them to whomever or redeem them with whatever account you want. Even the recent spend $100 get $15 promo was sent out as a code which, again, could be redeemed anywhere. The Sony Rewards redemption items end up being codes as well. Whatever the case, PSN can do exactly what this dude wants if the other person's account is a sub-account.

They're about half the puzzles for about a third of the price, plus some new stuff like Micross (doing smaller puzzles to form one bigger painting) and Mega Picross (remixed idea of regular picross puzzles) and some nice features like being able to turn off the time penalties.

That sounds like a good way to demean your significant other since it's a parental control feature for children with limitations to it. My Nintendo rewards are also codes that can be used on any account.

Thanks for the info. I'll just create my own "Sale" by buying eShop credit when they are discounted (which I generally do anyway) and buying them with that. Another similar type of game that I have been looking forward to, Slitherlink by Nikoli, I'll do the same.

Not sure why it matters if the master account is in her name? And the restrictions can all be turned off anyway.

In my situation the master account is mine and my wife doesn't play videogames.

He's got the credit and she has the birthday promotion on her account, so how else would that idea work if she's not the sub account to his master account in this situation?

UPDATE:  Caught 30 unique Poke's today.  Have over 180 balls, 9-10 eggs (one in incubator).  Haven't hit a gym yet as I just hit 5 and chose Blue.  (suck it yellow and red)

Near the ocean, I've only found Magikarp so far.... but I saw a bunch of gyms with Tentacools.

Not a penny spent.  Wish the servers would stabalize.  I've lost some REALLY good Pokemon tonight because the server issues.  Sucks.  PLUS it's screwing up my "step" count for my eggs.

I think they're onto something here.

Well Tokyo Mirage is super great. Except the forced bits of the UI that are on the gamepad. So I have to keep it nearby which is a bit annoying but thankfully the shell I have for it has a kick stand. More annoying is that when it decides it's time to run out of juice that decides when it's time for me to save when I would like to keep playing.

picked up

battlecat pop...  what the hell  is up with the energy bar  once you run out you got to wait  90 mins for it to refill .. now if this way free to play it be okay but  paying 10 bucks and having to wait to play.... you can refill with 3 cat food cans   but why waste them....

there are 3  chapters i heard each with 50 maps     so far  still on chapter 1   but trying to get  gold on each level  (if you do you get an extra item)   so far played 3 hours.....    i would say  Wait  4.99 or less

How did they get an E rating for Battle Cats Pop?  The Android version is T, and has some very objectionable/disturbing material for smaller children (sexy legs cat, mother cat and the one wearing a garter belt and stockings in particular)

Did Nintendo remove a bunch of cats?

Welp Nintendo finally broke me. Brought a ton of E-Shop credit for 7th Dragon and Monster Hunter this week.

So much easier having everything on my SD card compared to constantly having to swap carts. Especially for games I know I'd never trade in anyway so that wouldnt be a factor.

So it's not really disturbing as awakening to all the messed up parts of your sexual psyche.

I'm gonna need Slidecage to translate that for me.

This sums up the non-E rating in a nutshell (pun intended)

Also: Free phone version seems good enough for me. It gave me a free golden ticket, which happened to give me an uber super rare white rabbit, which I then exchanged out for XP instead of keeping and it gave me 1 MILLION XP :) which is worth 900 cans of cat food, which is worth $30 real money...

That made a fraction of the sense of what I said!

I got a shipping notice on Friday from Best Buy for this title and it should be here by Tuesday. You might get next day shipping on yours - Best Buy has been known to do that too, in order to get the item to customers on release date.
