Is live and plus not better? Plus has underwhelmed me in recent years, though.

More importantly, how was club nintendo poor?
Well those are part of a paid service. You don't keep access to the games when you quit the service, wait maybe you do now on 360, so those are not loyalty programs. They are inherently part of the service intended to get you to buy in.

The Nintendo program is a true loyalty program that comes at no additional cost to you. You are rewarded for doing something you would already do, buy and play their games.

We can argue the merits of the program, and I agree that there is room to grow. However, for the first time that I can remember they seem to be going the right way with this.

This isn't comparable at all to something you receive from a paid subscription service that you lose access to when you stop paying. That is just part of the service.

Sony technically has Sony Rewards which are garbage, and MS used to have the Diamond rewards program. Maybe they replaced it maybe not. Neither of them rewarded you for physical game purchases and neither gave rewards cor playing games.

Make the NX backward compatible with wii and wii u games and allow us to use all of our wii and wii u controllers (including gamepad) and combine that with an ever improving and expanding mynintendo rewards program and I bet they could turn this thing around

New info about Ace Attorney 6 has been revealed.

Ema and Trucy have been confirmed to return. It looks like Ema has finally become a forensic scientist while Trucy will be the defendant in Apollo's first case in the game, which involves other magicians. In more downer news, the animated cutscenes will no longer be done by BONES, who did the cutscenes for Vs. Layton and Dual Destinies, but now by A-1 Pictures, who is doing the animation for the current anime.

Actually, the latest rumors and leaks update says that it will support a second screen and motion controls, hinting that it will be backwards compatible.

I think it is critical they go BC due to the poor sales of the wii u

People like myself have stuck with them and since their site is based on "loyalty" those that bought collections for a dead-from-the-start console should have that loyalty rewarded with BC for games AND controllers

just my opinion but I think it would help them a lot to go through with it

also the spring sale prices are up now, nothing for me on there

You guys see the Spring "Super" sale. Nothing great but it is up in the Nintendo website which getting hammered.
nintendo never lowers prices that much but the selection is poor for the wii u

was hoping for metroid trilogy

Hmm. Might grab Kirby.

Friendly reminder, though, that sub-$5 purchases don't yield any Gold Coins.

Also, are these discounts on for two weeks, I wonder, or will there be a new set of deals next week?

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden Update Ver 1.1.0

Nintendo Badge Arcade Update Ver. 1.3.1

Was hoping to see some of the My Nintendo discount games on sale so we could see if they stack, as I'd assume it would. It would've made that aspect of My Nintendo more tempting for people.

Is live and plus not better? Plus has underwhelmed me in recent years, though.

More importantly, how was club nintendo poor?
Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus are completely different services, so I'm not sure what they have to do with My Nintendo.

My Nintendo's more akin to Xbox and PlayStation Rewards, which tracks purchases and offers some sort of reward system.

Xbox Rewards has a MyVIP thing where you get points back for purchases made on Xbox Live, which ranges from 1% to 10% back depending on whether you're a XBL Gold member or not and how much you spend on Xbox Live ever year ($300 minimum to $1,800 max for top tier). They also offer promotions for bigger point totals that are usually poor at best because they want you to spend $60+ on specific items you may not care about for less than 10% of that price in points. If you have enough points, they'll deposit them to your XBL account to spend on Xbox One in increments of $5, though you may be able to have it deposited earlier if you want. I guess I don't technically get any points back for my purchases because I don't spend enough money per year due to sales not being that good throughout the year. It used to be based on achievement score, but they moved to this system some time ago. It's not a very good service if you're not a heavy spender on new digital games. I mainly get points through the monthly survey, which gets me 250 points (5000 = $5) and would take 20 months to earn $5 back that way.

PlayStation Rewards is pretty simple in execution in that you get points for every purchase you make on PSN that can be spent on a variety of items on the Rewards store that have DVDs, Blu-rays, Games, PSN credit, and other things. They even have some promos for bonus points for seeing Sony movies at the theater or buying them on DVD/Blu-ray. There are also some special sales or promos on PSN where you get 3X points for buying certain games, which are nice. If you want to get $10 credit but don't have enough points, you can essentially pay the difference to make it discounted credit. The points you earn is about 1% of how much is spent rounded up ($5 = 5 points) and a $10 card is 1000 points.

My Nintendo offers at least 10 Gold Points per purchase on the eShop $5 and above, though without a cart system, purchases under $5 don't count. At the moment, Gold Points can only be spent on 30% discounts for certain games and a selection of free digital games or DLC. There are also Platinum Points to earn to also spend on Miitomo items, discounts, and games that can be earned by using the eShop, the site, and Miiverse that can be combined with the Miitomo Points to give you a fairly big pool of points to earn a number of items for free if you spend a little bit of time. Over time, they've said they'll add physical rewards and the ability to earn Gold Points from physical items as it grows and matures. You don't have to do stupid time-limited surveys to get your points, which is a big improvement for me.

Seems that the "bug" where you get credit for the full price of the game despite it being on sale is still going on, so feel free to grab the sub $5 games if their MSRP is above $5 to get 10 Gold Points.

Is this the lowest price for MK7? I don't buy a lot of digital games but MK is a game I ALWAYS play and having it on my 3DS would make things a little easier for carrying games in one pouch while i travel (e.g. I also bough AC:NL for this reason, since both have high replayability).

Nintendo doesn't go below 30% off for their digital retail games, so that's as low as it'll get unless they put it on Nintendo Selects.

I already have a physical copy. I meant is this the lowest digital price it has gone? I can easily offload my physical copy (was thinking of giving that along with a couple other games to my bro as a gift with my old 3DS since I moved to a new 3DS).

If this is the lowest I may bite. The high replayability of MK7 along with the sweetness of new 3DS size and super stable 3D are hard to resist...

I was all set to head over and buy the two Lego games...and realized they were for 3DS only. Ugh.

Tempted on Zero Escape and SMT4, but I've had physical copies of both for years and have never touched either.

I really wish nintendo would announce more snes games for the 3ds.

Anyone here play through Virtue's Last Reward? I recently played through and really enjoyed 999 so does this hold up compared to it? I know there was a potentially game breaking glitch. Has that been fixed?

Fantastic. One of the best adventure games I've ever played. I liked it more than 999. Whether you think 999 or VLR more is a coin toss for most people, but most agree that both games are great.

There is a save bug you'll want to investigate. There's one room in the game you shouldn't save in because there's a risk your save game will be deleted.

VLR is highly recommended in any case.

As for SNES, I assume they'll announce more shortly after the next batch (next week).

I wanna buy metroid trilogy and use the gold to snag pikmin 3 dlc

it's a bummer that 1 penny is going to mean 10 less gold coins because of the cutoff at 19.99

hopefully they improve that a little bit so it fits more into their current pricing

Maybe add that $1 game and get the rest of the gold?

I'm pretty sure one can't get the "$70.00 or more downloadable game purchase (tax not included)" My Nintendo mission completed due to no cart.
Those rewards are forward planning for the NX.

Always wanted to play 999 and Zero Escape, should I go straight to Zero Escape?
A game like 999 doesn't really get dated or show it's age. I definitely think it's worth playing through both.

Saving is actually disabled in that room in the eShop version now. It won't even let you try to save there.

Wasn't there a combo pack for all the Pikmin 3 DLC?

Either way, the DLC is challenge missions, which aren't all that necessary but certainly fun. They are mainly for REALLY well-optimized Pikmin play. Unless you can split Pikmin into six or seven different groups, throw them all at things, and manage your three spacemans to nearly always be where the Pikmin are done or needed, you won't score that well.

I like the challenge and I loved Pikmin 3 so I got them despite not being nearly that good.

was buying metroid anyway and the 7-10 mission dlc was 20 gold points I snagged it for free

nintendo tends to keep their dlc very reasonably priced so the rest is only a few bucks but I've heard from multiple people including you it isn't really necessary so I'll save the few bucks for something else.
