Wait, what day does the shop update?
I thought Thursdays
Thursdays, Mondays, whenever the fuck someone wants apparently.

In honor of another inevitable month of crappy My Nintendo rewards, I'll give away my code to the Yo-Kai Watch 2 theme, seen here

https://my.nintendo.com/rewards/bb356475bf685554?imp=138aabb6d4f8de973488651af55e6e8532eef7b0%3Areward_list%3A1%3A3

You have to be a CAG for at least a year with at least two positive feedback and zero negative. First one meeting that criteria to quote and like gets it.
Do I win?

Winner!

Thursdays, Mondays, whenever the fuck someone wants apparently.

Do I win?
No. While you quoted first, you forgot to like it!

The older ones. This newer one isn't for some reason. (EDIT: added the ONE exception which is that camera minigame.. of which I've only FOUND one spot)

And hold up, how can anyone talk about a greatest game ever without including Elite Beat Agents?!??!?!

But if we're talking only 3DS then I would go with Animal Crossing NL as well.
Is animal crossing a game for kids, 40 year old here but saw it on some best of lists

Just saw there are two fates? And they came out after awakening? Might ask the inlaws as a xmas gift for them
There are 3 Fates

Birthright, Conquest, and Revelation.

Revelation is the real/true/canon ending and only available if you own one of the other versions.

Do NOT buy them all physically.

On the 5th chapter of the game, you choose which of the three paths you want to go.... if you own the cartridge you can only go that path, but you can buy the other two paths at a drastically reduced price.

The DLC is $20 each at Best Buy

Birth Right http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fire-emblem-fates-birthright-dlc-digital-nintendo-3ds-digital-download-add-on/1000006221.p?id=1000006220&skuId=1000006221

Conquest http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fire-emblem-fates-conquest-dlc-digital-nintendo-3ds-digital-download-add-on/1000006219.p?id=1000006218&skuId=1000006219

For the record

Birthright is "Easy" mode, and has the least varied mission structure.

Revelations is "Medium" mode

Conquest is "Hard" mode with permadeath, and no real areas to level and item grind, but has the most indepth and varied scenario.

Yes, two fates game and then a DLC from what I understand that ends the trilogy.

I'm pretty into the grid based RPGS and I have heard great things about the series. I'll probably suck it up and buy awakening while it is on sale

sent from my galaxy s6 edge plus using tapatalk on android

I'm 33 and my wife has threatened to leave me twice because of my unhealthy addiction to Animal Crossing. I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with asking her to call me Mayor one night while referring to her as Isabelle...

There are 3 Fates
Birthright, Conquest, and Revelation.
Revelation is the real/true/canon ending and only available if you own one of the other versions.

Do NOT buy them all physically.
On the 5th chapter of the game, you choose which of the three paths you want to go.... if you own the cartridge you can only go that path, but you can buy the other two paths at a drastically reduced price.

The DLC is $20 each at Best Buy
Birth Right http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fire-emblem-fates-birthright-dlc-digital-nintendo-3ds-digital-download-add-on/1000006221.p?id=1000006220&skuId=1000006221
Conquest http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fire-emblem-fates-conquest-dlc-digital-nintendo-3ds-digital-download-add-on/1000006219.p?id=1000006218&skuId=1000006219

For the record
Birthright is "Easy" mode, and has the least varied mission structure.
Revelations is "Medium" mode
Conquest is "Hard" mode with permadeath, and no real areas to level and item grind, but has the most indepth and varied scenario.
Does your party roll over from game to get or is it a complete start over each time?
I had just bought the games physically so now I am thinking I have to look into selling them on and go digital instead.

When you beat the game, you get to select 5 characters to carry over to your next play through.

These 5 can be summoned, or hired into your new play through army.

You also can learn skills and abilities from these carried over characters.

(I have never beaten the game, just going by other people's accounts)

Discounts for Platinum coins are fine, but I'm pretty tired of discounts being the only thing offered. I like getting VC games from the rewards program (and Club Nintendo before it) but damn, they've more or les abandoned trying to make it a service I want to interact with.

Is animal crossing a game for kids, 40 year old here but saw it on some best of lists

1) Fates is 3 Games. I was bored after the first one, but was an idiot and bought all 3. Take that for what it's worth.

2) Animal Crossing is a "collection" game. If you don't like collecting, don't like playing in "installments", don't like taking your time. It's not the game for you.

3) Being a collection game, there is stuff to do every season, multiple weekly and monthly events, and changes in seasons can change what you can harvest, find, fish, etc.

4) When I was in the Navy, it's predecessor had 4 guys all in 20-40's playing it basically 24/7 handing it off for the next person to play. For a whole deployment.

I'm 33 and my wife has threatened to leave me twice because of my unhealthy addiction to Animal Crossing. I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with asking her to call me Mayor one night while referring to her as Isabelle...
I had to buy my wife her own 3ds because one night I asked her to check out this game and I never got my 3ds back.

...I think the mayor/Isabelle scenario might work in my house.

Which did you play first?
Birthright here, and it was boring.

I hear Conquest is incredibly varied and feels much better.

Meh. The videos and theme might be worth wasting some coins on, but nothing really exciting here.

Another change to MyNintendo is that the Miitomo Coins have finally been merged into regular Platinum Coins.
Not sure if this is new.. but I noticed today when I claimed some Platinum coins for logging in with my 3DS to the shop... it gave me 4x the coins since I had claimed it 4 times total. I don't remember a multiplier being involved before. So getting Platinum coins may be super easy now.

Are you sure you just didn't redeem it in previous weeks? They always stacked, and expired if you waited too long, so I'm not sure that it's a change.

I always read Skyward Sword had a lot of boring fetch quests but I bought it a month ago anyway. It took me 50hrs to beat the game. I can honestly say that it's one of the worst console Zelda's I've played - possibly the worst. Some of the boss battles were fun but the game was generally really sub-par for a Zelda game. The game should have been about 25 hours long. I wouldn't recommend people get it.

Counterpoint: Skyward Sword might be my favorite 3D Zelda. I'd only recommend avoiding it if you can't stand waggle in any form (I feel it was implemented pretty well in the game, but YMMV).

That's me. I never finished it because I had a heck of a time getting it to behave for me, though to be fair, I believe that my only Wiimote Plus at the time was one of those Nintendo refurbished ones that turned out to be part of a batch where the sensors were put in upside-down. :wall: It didn't help that the opening is just so darn slow; I ended up just watching all of the cutscenes on YouTube as a result. It's my least favorite in the entire series (CD-i entries nonwithstanding, of course, though I have played them and they're just as terrible as everyone says).

Upon a second playthrough I don't hate Skyward Sword with the pure venom I had when it first came out.  It's now in the field of "a good game, but a terrible [insert franchise here]", like Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts.  There's a lot that it does well, and at first the motion controls are actually nice and add to the enjoyment, but the controller loses calibration too quickly making things frustrating from that perspective, and there are SO many asinine design decisions that most of the game is sadly more frustrating than fun (fetch quests, recycling same areas too many times, little to no actual exploration/overworld, fucking Fi).

Honestly go into it with an open mind and not expecting a typical Zelda experience, and I think you'll enjoy it far more.  To me Dark Souls is the best "Zelda" of 2011... but I digress.

The first of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's reveal trailers at The Game Awards is live now:

I really liked some parts of Skyward Sword but there was so much padding that it just drags on for too long. It would have been such an improvement if the main quest was 25 hrs or so and rest of it became optional sidequests. That'd help with the game's linearity and lack of exploration. It'd still need a few more improvements, but it'd be much better with more freedom.

Looks like Breath might be the opposite.

I am worried more about the minute to minute gameplay.

4th worst Zelda.... easily.

Unless you think Wand of Gamelon, Faces of Evil, and Adventure are better.

:wall:

Seriously though, it is the worst official Zelda and.. I just could not play it. I got to the Earth and was so bored to tears I gave up.

I liked Skyward Sword and Phantom Hourglass..

They had their problems, as most games do. But on the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed them both.
Oh I forgot about the DS games....

Yea, those were worse in my opinion, but everyone has their own taste!

As you said, all have their own problems, and set up issues.

I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass for what it was, although Spirit Tracks was a gazillion times better in every way (except the flute)

Is it me or did they make the rewards site way worse? Like I couldn't even find most of the rewards until I started randomly clicking on things and thought they were gone.

I'd noticed that it took me more clicks than usual to find the rewards - not that there was anything new or interesting to find, anyway. I heard that they added a new Zelda theme since I last checked, though. I'm probably going to end up buying up all of the themes and giving them away to random people because there's nothing I want to spend my coins on and they've been slowly expiring for the last month or so.

A Link to the Past on 3DS VC is $5.60 if you use 240 Nintendo Points on their site to get the discount. I totally got that discount!!!
I was thinking about biting. How is it on the 3DS? I played it on the Wii VC.. And about 50 times growing up..

I'm always holding out for one of those crazy $25 cent sales but i doubt I'll get lucky like that.

Anyoe like 4 elements. Looking for a puzzle, bejeweled kind of game for $1 to play with while im in adult settings
It's a solid match-3 game. The levels are about working your way from one part of the map to the other by eliminating tile barriers to allow water to flow to the exit. I played through the whole campaign once and found it pretty fun. It won't set the world on fire, but it's good for what it is and is a good kind of different from traditional match-3 games.
