None from those hands on sessions?
Nope. That's what makes me think it's runs like crap which is pathetic after 8 years in development. They could always dumb down the graphics a little bit and not show as many trees or whatever to get it to run at 60 frames per second. No excuses for the game to still run at 30 frames on a much more powerful console in 2025.

Walmart took a billion preorders. I don't think they'll fulfill most of them.

Do we have confirmation that running original Switch games locally on a Switch 2 would result in reduced load times? I haven’t seen that.

I think switch carts are limited to 100MB/s so yeah, they will likely load the same or similar to switch 1. Digital though, the storage on the switch 2 should provide a real boost to loading games.

Unfortunately I'm not getting a Switch 2 at launch, no invite by nintendo. I'll have to wait until walmart or bb have them or nintendo finally gets to wherever I am in line for an invite. Otherwise I'd be all over testing loading since I do have some games both physical and digital. I'm sure others though will test some of this once the system launches.

Is there not a way to buy the Switch Online controllers from Nintendo without a paid account? First time I've seen one of them in stock and says it's for paid accounts only.

EDIT* 1 month is only $4, so why not? Sucks I can't use my own eshop funds though? What nonsense if true...

EDIT* Nice you can use eshop funds... but it still won't let me buy the controller, WTF? LOL

URL for store page with the NSO controllers.

First make sure browser extensions are off since some can screw things up. This includes like dark mode in some browsers. Open the link above. Make sure your name is listed in the top right of the page to show you are indeed logged in. Sometimes it actually will not load the account. If this is the case, it won't let you even add to cart. If you can see your name, click it and see if it shows your NSO status in the popup. Mine shows the check mark next to Nintendo Switch Online. I don't know what it will look like if you are in a trial, but I think when subscribing, if you are eligable for a free 7 day trial, it'll load that onto your account first before your actual paid month begins. But you can click the link for Nintendo Switch Online (or right click and open in new tab) and it'll show your expiration date. If your expiration is more than a month out, you are in a trial period. You can't order restricted items during a trial. When it's up, you should be good to go.

You didn't mention which controller. If it's the SNES, then it's sold out.

But right now I can order Genesis, Nes, N64, or preorder the GC controller. Which controller were you after?

Also, if you didn't realize, you have to have a CC on your account to buy hardware. Eshop credit is for digital purchases only. You can use it for NSO but even then you have to have a CC on the account. If you removed your CC, go add it back.

Good luck.

The Walmart Onn MicroSD Express cards are in stock for shipping right now...

$66 512GB Onn MicroSD Express card : https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-MICRO-SD-EXPRESS/15708762625

$36 256 Onn MicroSD Express card: https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-MICRO-SD-EXPRESS/15706752314?

Someone said that PNY has a deal to manufacturer store brand cards for Walmart, so the current assumption is that these are PNY cards...

Edit: 7 512 left, and 256 is sold out. I don't know if this is nationwide availability, or if Walmart is limiting online orders based on your location.

It was for the GC controller. I got it to work somehow yesterday, couldn't tell you how, the process was beyond stupid but I think it was because the sign you up for a free 7-day trial to start (not sure why or how because... I already used up my trial), but I'm glad I finally got one. Now just need the SNES controller.

still think we're coming up on a day where people see others playing Mario Kart and then suddenly be like "oh that's right, I want that", "went to the store and bought one".
in 1440p and some nice shading.

tho I'm still not yet sold on the 'open world' presentation being compelling at all.

I found one (512) in store on the Olympic Peninsula, definitely worth checking your local stores.

I got lucky as I clicked on the link late last night and was able to get a 512gb card and then it went out of stock. It is supposed to be delivered today by 10pm, so we will see how that goes.

Hoping to get another one for my son's Switch 2 as that is a great price for these new type of SD micro express cards.

Edit - Nice as the Onn 512gb MicroSD Express card was delivered.

I was lucky enough to order one yesterday, as well. I had a 1tb ordered that was supposed to arrive over the weekend, but amazon saaid the order would be late but didn't let me know how late. Amazon seems to be adding a little extra suck these days. Maybe it's just due to all the shipping hell caused by our idiot prez.

Where are the 1TB MicroSD Express Cards at.. ?? Anyone know.. I want a quality name brand 1TB.. don't want to buy a 512GB then need another one sooner rather than later..

I think these companies clearly see the demand for 500gb+ express cards and will be putting all their efforts into pumping those out like crazy over the next few months. I wouldn't sweat trying to get one right away. Nintendo games are small enough where you can make due with the internal 256gb for a bit

Agreed, I'm going to wait until black Friday at minimum before I get one.

I'm just holding out for a 1TB Express card.. I'll be patient.. I also read that you have to have an Express Memory Card just to update Switch 2 system on Day 1.. so if that's true I can't even use my System till I get one..

I also might have read wrong.. but i thought that's what it said somewhere maybe not in this article.. just thought it said updates on memory cards only not internal memory but idk.. I've been wrong before

In the original post with the links the poster said PNY.

I don't know that they are PNY -- when I searched on the internet, there were posts speculating they are PNY due to claims that PNY has a contract to produce Walmart flash memory devices.

I don't know if that's true.

However, it is worth noting that only Lexar, SanDisk, and PNY have announce they are producing SD express cards. Unless someone can find another flash memory producer, it would seem likely these are rebranded versions of one of those three. (That, or lower quality runs from the three...)

I just got an email that walmart has delayed the delivery of the card I was supposed to get today. They say they're working hard to get it to me in the next two days. I'm having a tough time getting a card for this sucker.

Samsung is also making them

You need a day one patch in order to USE express cards, not that you need an express card in order to update the system. Nintendo has locked a lot of stuff behind a day 1 patch to prevent people who got it early illegally from fully using it. Also why review sites aren't getting it early.

The new features include:
  • Rewind – If you make a mistake, easily rewind gameplay and try again.
  • CRT Screen Filter – Recreate the look of a CRT television.
  • View / Change Controls – Check what each button does in the game your playing, and reassign button mappings to suit your play style. (works on both Switch and Switch 2).
