One thing you should all be aware of - at least in Japan, the PS3 version of the game is censored. No Tarantino-esque violence overload for you.
Havent play the original but how important is motion control to the original game?
Very.
And the thing is, I don't know how the game is going to fare without them. It wouldn't be too hard to translate them to traditional controls, but the Wii controls did make the game more fun to play. Since there haven't been many (any?) good Star Wars games this generation, this is the closest thing there is to the lightsaber action game people dreamed about when the Wii was announced.
If you take the motion controls out (and let's face it, people - if it's coming out early next year, it probably won't support the "spring 2010" Wand and there's no way in hell it will support Natal), then you're left with a stylish third person brawler that's the definition of nice appeal. I also have a feeling that its shortcomings - an overworld that was dull and repetitive enemy types are the two big ones - are going to be magnified on systems where there's more competition in the hardcore market.
I have a feeling that this game is going to disappoint a lot of people, because the game's going to lose a lot of its charm without the motion controls. I also have a feeling that it's going to bomb - it's coming out at full price in Japan, and I just don't see enough demand to release it for $50 here.
