November 2007 - BC Titles Update - NFL2K5, Freedom Fighters + More

MVP Baseball 2003... MVP Baseball 2004...

2005?
2005!?

Thanks a fucking lot Microsoft.

It's on the OP, but it's not on MajorNelson's list or the PDF.

It's great to see an awesome yet under appreciated game like Breakdown get added to the list. Now, how much longer till Timesplitters: Future Perfect and the X-Men Legends seris gets added?

It was on there earlier but I think they realized it was a typo/mistake and took it out. Oh well, at least 2K5 works.

I would like xmen legends 2, but ever time i look its not there. Nice to see hunter the reckoning there tho, hopefully redeemer will be next.
I want Oddworld: SW and Otogi as well.. but as much as I'd like to see Morrowind.. I doubt even Microsoft has the resources to successfully emulate it on the 360 :) The painful memories of losing hours of gameplay from lockups still sting to this day
I thought Morrowind was BC.

glad to see that MS hasn't abandoned BC yet, but this list is pretty lackluster. all my xbox games are currently BC, except for PoP:WW and TT. please microsoft, make those BC!
Wait I see NFL 2k3, but not 2k5...
Because for 2K5, it's ESPN NFL 2K5. So yeah, look in the E section.

playing nfl 2k5 in 1080p glory...

a little slowdown during kick returns.. but for the most part solid..

man do i miss this game.. this is leagues better than madden

Morrowind has been BC since the last update, man. Where have you been?

And seriously.

ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

FREEDOM FIGHTERS.

fuck YEAH.

(..and Playboy!)

played a couple quarters nfl2k5, it looks damn good for a game from 04/05. the only issue on my lcd, the screen doesnt stretch, i guess it doesnt support widescreen. so i get a square. black bars on the sides and bottom. wish there way a way to get updated rosters

Is anyone else really surprised that "The Guy Game" is on the list? I mean, after the game was pulled off shelves or whatever, I assumed it would have been intentionally left off, even if it technically worked.

Well hey, now we've got "The Guy Game", "Playboy Mansion", "BMX XXX", and "Leisure Suit Larry" all BC. As The Bloodhound Gang once so elloquently put it, "Hooray for (virtual) Boobies!" :applause:

Wow, so this time in Freedom Fighters you can actually get past the first area in the first level :p I remember when they took it off BC because you couldn't do anything in the game besides turn it on and let it load.
I really need to find Leisure Suit Larry. I don't see that one around too often. It can be my 204th XBox game.
I love that game. It's probably one of the funniest games I've ever played. It's like playing a National Lampoon's movie.

Great news on NFL2k5. The only problem is that I'm pretty sure Custom soundtracks don't work on BC games so I can't make my own victory music clips for my team.

But who cares, now I can play it in HD.

Glad MS is still putting out updates. I'm sure Ralisport Challange, MechAssault and Midtown Maddness will make it out some day. Since they are sure to want to sell them as downloads.

The godzilla games are nice to have back too.

yea.. sucks about custom soundtracks.. but thats a known issue..

IMO.. they havent been able to match the easyness of custom soundtracks this gen compared to og xbox

Have to say...there's a lot of shit on that BC update, but I'm mightily impressed with the inclusion of so many sports titles, as I was all but certain that Microsoft was being 'encouraged' by EA and/or 2K to not give people the opportunity to stick with an older--and better, in a couple cases--title.

And on that note, I really don't see a (sim) baseball game this generation matching MVP 2005, let alone surpassing it in anything except the graphics/presentation department.

Yea, I played a bit of 2K5 tonight and some NHL Hitz. Those games both still stand up well. Even better with the upscaled graphics on the 360.

Well, this knocked two more games off of my BC wish list (Armed & Dangerous, Godzilla: STE). Unfortunately, I've got 14 more that aren't BC, and I doubt they will be any time soon. I'd love to retire the original XBox under my TV.
Play the original ones (mainly 1 VGA & 6) and then hang your head in shame for your comments.

No Al Lowe = lame unfunny suck
Well, fortunately, I wasn't talking about the original ones. I think the update in graphics, style, and gameplay gave the Leisure Suit Larry series the shot in the arm it needed. I'd love to see a next-gen sequel. Anyone who can't enjoy Magna Cum Laude is either a prude or has simply never attended college.

Well it appears my Xbox has become a Voodoo Vince and MechAssault machine only. Hopefully those will be avilable for download since they were both published my MS.

Would love to see Otogi 1 and 2 eventually make it, but iirc, didn't those game stress the hardware enough on the original xbox? I remember getting some messy hangups with the floating octupus guy with the demon wheel.
It took MS over 6 months working on new BC list. Sadly, only 8 games is match on my collection with new BC list :(

Where's Otogi 1 & 2, Kingdom under fire: Hereos, Kung fu Chaos, Iron Phoenix, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Samurai shodown 5, Serious Sam 2, Pariah, Men of valor and Deus Ex: Invisible war.
I, too, was waiting for Samurai Shodown V...then I remembered how awful it was. I have a soft spot for that series (just look at my avatar), but I gave up hope on SSV a few months back and eBayed it for a stunning amount ($40!). I just couldn't wait any longer! Plus, I DL'd a NG emulator and roms for the Dreamcast, and never looked back - the DC Arcade Stick just made the older SS games enjoyable again.

How Deus Ex is not on there is beyond me...same with CvS2:EO

this is a great update for me, besides the halo games the only two games i still wanted to play were

nfl 2k5
outrun 2006

i'm ecstatic. too bad i brought home my xbox over thanksgiving break so i could study more.

i don't know if you guys have played outrun yet but it's so much fun. outrun 2 which is almost hte same thing is only like $8 at gamestop and definitely one of the best arcade racers i've played.

LoL I wish I woulda read this before I went out today. I had NFL 2K5 already but I saw MVP 05 was on the list so I went to Gamestop to buy it. Come home to find out it doesnt even work lol. Ohwell it was only 4 bucks.

I hope the next update adds rumble back to NFL 2K5. Has anyone played it online yet? I heard it's nearly impossible to play online.

Also anyone play High Heat Baseball 04 yet?

i also noticed lack of rumble in 2k5... honestly though its not a big deal..

ive signed on to live but havent actually tried to play a game

OMG YES!

Microsoft, I love you so much. I think everyone expected them to stop with the BC updates. But they just keep dishing it out! NFL2K5! Come back into my arms! May we never be separated again!

BTW: does that list include updates? Because Breakdown has been BC for awhile.
People still complain.

I really don't care what they do now.
Same here. Way too many 360 games to care about a few random XB games.

We have the "Greatest Football Game Evar~!" now, it really doesn't matter what else they put out.

Rallisport Challenge 2 where are you?!!!...Seriously though, some nice updates...especially Freedom Fighters, A & D, and ESPN NFL 2k5

Only thing I'm really waiting for now are the Prince of Persia sequels.

Not really expecting them any time soon :whistle2:(
I thought Morrowind was BC.
I meant that I've played it on the 360, but it locks up even more on the 360 than on the original Xbox for me. The game was pretty buggy to begin with (as good as it is), so the lockups and load times are just to be dealt with. I've had similar issues with Mercenaries, but nowhere as much as the level as Morrowind. It's just not a stable game.

I'm thinking that Oddworld: SW will never see the light of day on the list. I'm guessing that very few units were sold? I googled it, and couldn't find an exact number.

Where the fuck are my "Prince of Persia" games?! Seriously.

And, it was supposed to be Rugby 05, not 06. Chumps.:bomb:

Still, it's nice to see that they haven't forgotten about those who like to hang on to older titles in the hopes that they can one day play them on a newer generation of the console.

I give that list a solid C

maybe these titles were just the easiest to 'vemulate' or w/e but there are still some major and minor classics sitting on the sideline

shouldn't complain tho

at least my console has decent BC capability
