You sound like you've got some experience with bargain hunting. If you got any tips I'm sure that Evilmax would add it to the tip list in the first post.
Yeah, I've been going to garage sales since I was an infant getting dragged along by my mother. I've deffinately got the bargain bug. The only real tips I could provide would not be game related. Here are a few tips:

-It's a good idea to bring along USPS Postal Bins in your car. They are durable, free, and you can put stuff in them to keep it from rolling around in the back of your car (which often damages items). It will also make it easier to carry all your finds inside if you purchase a lot. If you find any cotton tshirts free or cheap, keep some in your trunk in the box to wrap glass or fragile items.

-If you have a cell phone, and you're spending a lot on your bill each month, look into getting a PDA style phone such as a T-Mobile Sidekick II. For $60 a month, I get 1000 minutes and unlimited Data plan. The phone is an invalueable research tool, and has saved me from making big mistakes while out on the hunt, and convinced me to purchase things I would have otherwise left at the Yard Sale or Thrift Store.

I can tell you gobs of information about what to look for in the lines of old toys, books, and movies.. but that'd be off topic, and I don't think any of you would care, heh. I've sold at least 6 books this summer for over $100 that I paid $1 or less for, with tons more to go through and list on eBay or Half.com I just picked up a book on Apple Computer Industrial Design for a buck at a local thrift last weekend and that's worth $110. I make enough money selling used books and other stuff that I buy from Thrift Stores and Yard Sales that I don't have to have a job though. I quit my job in February and I do eBay / Half.com full time.

Also, if anyone find s an Atari 2600 that works.. hit me up. The lady that works at the post office has been telling me to find one for her, but I have yet to find one this year.. it's driving me crazy. Especially considering how many I used to see in the early 90s..

Ok kiddies todays loot

100_0108.jpg.w300h450.jpg

PS2 sealed GTA San Andreas - $20
The guy wanted $25, I offered $15. He said I can trade it in at gamestop and get $20. I told him I'll save you the time, the trip and the gas and I'll give you $20. "SOLD" was his answer

PS2 Pinball Hall of Fame - complete Mint - $3. The guy wanted $5, I offered $3 with the cash in face method. "SOLD" was also this guys answer. it was kind of creepy that my first 2 purchases of the day and both guys said this.

Atari 2600 Asteroids complete - $1

Banjo kazooie N64 promo tape - .25

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicals CD excellent condition - .50

Coleman personal cooler NEW - $2.50
This ones got a funny story.
ME: How much
GUY: waddaya give me for it?
ME: $2
GUY: I won't go a penny under $2.50
ME: I'll give you $2.49
GUY: (jokingly)waddaya a fucking wise ass? OK
I hand the guy $2.50 and tell him to keep the change

Apparently there is a new game hunter in my area. I had a course set for today's hunt along a main road the next town over. The first 5 sales had no gaming merch. Then I came to one and asked about games and the guy tells me a young guy just came by 15minutes ago and bought his PS1 and all his PS1 games. According to him he sold the system and about 50 games for $50. He then went on to add insult to my injury and told me they were mostly RPG's. ARRRGGGGG!! A couple more sales up the road I ask for games again and the kid there tells me he just sold 17 complete XBox games for $50 about 20 minutes ago. I don't even want to know the details so I leave. The next sale I ask the same question and the lady said she had some but a guy came by a little while ago and took them all. Again I don't want details and head on home. I'm a little disgusted that i may have weekly competition now, but i still made some good buys today. I wonder if my new competition is a CAG?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everything we bought was from our first 2 newspaper-advertised sales. The first sale had the NES stuff. They were asking $5, I offered $3, they wouldn't budge, but I bought anyway. The only games that I already had out of the bunch were SMB, SMB3, and Tetris...and I wanted to get Battletoads and TMNT into the collection. Plus "Pinball Quest" was a game that Moiety used to play as a kid all the time with her neighbor, so she was excited to finally own it. $5 wasn't a horrible price for what I got by any means, but I still would've liked it a bit cheaper. Ah well.

Speaking of that, the 2 controllers that came with it had orange Dpads and Yellow buttons. Everything else about the controller is completely official, and the buttons look/feel like real NES buttons except for the color. Does anybody know what the story about them is? They look familiar for some reason, but I can't consciously ever remember seeing them.

The second sale where we got everything else was awesome, which was run by a young easy-going couple. The PC games were next to a box that said "Free", and upon asking if they were free too, they said "Sure, why not? This is the free yardsale, we're trying to just get rid of anything. See anything else you like, just take it." I laughed, but then she said "Seriously!" So we found the DS/Halo stuff, and then asked if they had any old videogame stuff that they wanted to get rid of. The guy brought out the sealed GTA and the 2 ps1 games, and I asked "How much are you asking?" His response: "Eh, just take 'em." So we were looking around at the other stuff, and Moiety spotted the anime and manga. They wanted a buck for the video and a quarter for the book, but we just gave them 2 bucks because they were so nice about everything. They said "Tell your friends!" as we walked to the car with our arms full.

Saw a blue Gamegear and 6 common games marked $30. I didn't even make an offer to the douche teenage kid running it. He also had a bunch of common GB games, but lord knows what he was asking for those.

This week was pretty fun in terms of driving around. We were in the countryside/suburbs for most of it, and it was nice to stay out of the city.

Nice to see a lot of "new faces" in this thread! I hope you all have good luck in your future yard saling ventures, and make sure to let us know about your finds!

Added to the OP, thanks!

I did rather mediocre today... Didn't find any games / systems worth buying. PS1 with no games for $20.. blech! N64 with 3 sports titles, and no power adapter for around $50... yikes! Atari that the woman said "it's worth too much, you can't afford it" (which, if true, is the most expensive Atari ever because I had $400 in my pocket, and a large ATM cash reserv, heh) so needless to say I didn't bother probing further with her. Here is what I did manage to pick up..

-8 Brand NewCrystal Krosno Beer Glasses from Crate & Barrell: $10
-1 Trick or Treat Rubber Stamp (Something my Fiance wanted, we are getting married 2 days before Halloween and throwing a huge halloween party): $1
-2 Kate Spade Purses / 1 Kate Spade Wallet (for Fiance): $15
-8 Art / Photography books.. 2 completely worthless, 5 worth less than $10 each.. and one worth about $200.

http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?bx=off&sts=t&ds=30&bi=0&isbn=3888143926&sortby=2

That book made the day worthwhile, but I didn't get anything I really wanted except for the Beer glasses.

And you know that both Suikodens, ther Personas, and the Lunars were part of that 50 game collection.

Sorry about the Picture being pretty big in size as I forgot to set the size smaller on the camera & didin't think it would be too bad/worth taking again since it was only 1 picture.

Yesterday (Friday) at about 12 PM

Street Fighter Anniversary Collection - $5
Tony Hawk Underground - $10

I saw a sale advertised that said 9 PS2 games I didn't think I'd find anything I wanted but this was right in town & was only about a 2 minute drive away from where I live. When I got there I saw Street Fighter Anniversary Collection $10 took it up & offered $5 for it and the mom asked the young kid if he would be willing to do it...he seemed kind of shy and wasen't ready for anything like this after afew seconds he quitly said ok. I then though about Tony Hawk Underground 2 which said $12 I offered $10. I know THUG2 wasen't really that killer of a deal for $10 at a yardsale but both games were in mint condition not a single scatch so I figured I'd be saveing afew dollars on THUG2 & I didn't think these people deserverd for me to hassle them anymore to go lower ;) Surely the mom would have stepped in for the kid & said no if I tried anything crazy low like if I offered $2 for the THUG2.

Today

Gizmo Bobblehead - $1
4 Nintendo brand Gameboy game cases - .25

I woke up late as I'm not much of a morning person & didn't head out until after noon. I went to one advertised sale the next town over that advertised 'games' which I figured would probably be board games but if lucky video games. I didn't see any games but I did see the Gizzmo bobblehead picked it up & the gameboy cases as to not be a wasted trip.

I would also suggest that people look at any weekly free papers for advertised sales if they get one that has classifieds. For example I get one every Monday called The East Lycoming Shopper & have noticed that I seem to have less competition for the stuff I see advertised in this paper while stuff that I see advertised in the locale paper that comes everyday seems to be gone early in the morning if I don't get there right when the yardsale starts or before if it's something that's a killer deal like a Nintendo & some games dirt cheap or even just some non sports PS2 games that are good for about 5ish!

I usually tend to get most of my stuff at advertised sales as I sometimes get some finds at a sale that is unadvertised or didn't have videos games mentioned in the ad. I have been told afew times when I ask (at an unadvertised sale) that they had something game related & that it's gone. I've noticed that I have some competition & have even ran into afew people that are buying game or that I just barely beat to something.

Gizmo Bobblehead - $1
I envy your Gizmo... :applause: Gremlins is one of my favorite films, I need some Gizmo goodness for the top of my DVD rack. I picked up a small 7" Gremlins record with Gizmo driving an RC Car in the Spring for 25 cents.. it's up there right next to the ALF and ET.

After having yardsales list ps and ps2 games I struck out on most. The only exception was the first sale I went to:

The guy used to work for a Sony disc manufacturing plant that used to be in business here in Eugene, so everything he had was essentially Sony merch. that he got for dirt cheap as an employee. Not much in ways of games, I was lamenting this fact (mostly sports, and not complete) until I came upon Incredible Crisis. I remembered reading about the game and hearing people here looking for it. So I picked it up and lo and behold it was factory sealed with the security tape on top.

So in the end I parted with 4 bucks for that and Days of Future Passed by the Moody Blues on vinyl. First score in years game wise at yard sales for me here in Eugene.
And you know that both Suikodens, ther Personas, and the Lunars were part of that 50 game collection.
That's what I was thinking. The guy said "they were mostly RPG's" like it was a bad thing, or like he was trying to comfort me or something. Maybe I look like a Crash Bandicoot kinda guy
I have been told a few times when I ask (at an unadvertised sale) that they had something game related & that it's gone.
I get this every week. Most of the time I try to get info from the seller on what kind of stuff he sold just to see what kind of deals are out there. Today I missed what would of been 2 nice scores within 15 and 20 minutes of each. These kind of misses motivate me even more to keep hunting.

O. M. F. G.

OK, first of all, I have to thank all the wonderful contributors to this thread. I was reading this last night and it got me motivated to get out of bed this morning and go do some yard sales. Let me just say it was one of the best possible things I could have done today.

Now without further ado...

1 Rhapsody for PSX in pristine condition (!!!!!!!!!!)
1 Dragon Warrior VII for PSX (no instructions)
1 Brave Fencer Musashi for PSX (no instructions or FFVIII demo  )
Asking price: $6 ea Paid: $5 ea

Yes. That's Right. Do not adjust your monitor. Rhapsody, mint, for $5. I thought I had died and gone to video gaming heaven.

I bet some of you guys have dreams about getting incredible deals? I collect a lot of stuff and I have them every once and awhile. I'm just waiting for somebody to pinch me on this one.

At first, I was so excited that the only thing I could think about was paying for the game as quickly as possible and getting it as far away from the sale as possible, expecting some kind of Dukes of Hazzard-esque chase from a disgruntled seller who just realized his Golden Goose Egg has been stolen. But sure enough, it's here in my hands. (And, admittedly, on eBay already.)

In retrospect, I feel a little bit guilty for actually HAGGLING the price down a dollar. The kid looked to be about 17 (not to be too condecending, I'm only 19) and he was doing his best salesman. "You know if you buy these at Software Etc, they'll charge a lot more for them." Yes, my friend. A LOT more.

At first I only bought DQVII and Rhapsody. I couldn't remember if I had the US version of Brave Fencer. I got home, and nope, I have the Japanese version. (Haven't played it in 6 or so years, so I couldn't remember.....) So I went back and grabbed that as an afterthought.

I really owe you guys one. I'm still fairly new here, and if it weren't for CAG, I wouldn't have known how rare Rhapsody is, and would have probably left it there. Seriously. I love you all.

I may have to make a habit of this.

Alex

so you bought it and sold it on ebay? And why did you put the discs on the floor? I never get why people do that.

We put together a site to start cataloguing our yardsale finds, as we are planning to continue this hobby as the years go on. It'll be fun to keep track of our purchases, and to look back on the things that we bought. It's for us more than anything else, but we thought some of you might get a kick out of it. We'll continue to post in this thread as well as update our site weekly.

Yardsale Finds [2005]

It's nice to see a lot of new faces. There's still plenty of time left in this season, and I'm looking forward to reading about everybody's finds! :)

Nice site. That Dreamcast retail kiosk for $20 is an awesome find.

Sadly, I'm going to have to stop hitting the sales for a bit. I'm almost out of money. I would have had more, but it's been so dry in my area that I couldn't cut the grass for several weeks. That's been my only income for the moment. I need to find a job.

Nice site. I was thinking of putting something like that together myself. Let me ask you, Do you and evilmax ever buy anything other then toys and gaming related stuff. I'm beginning to realize that aside from gaming related items yardsales yield quite a bit of moneymaking items such as china, furniture, figurines even clothing. I'm starting to do my homework to learn more about these types of things so that I could possibly turn a profit with some of this stuff. I've taken notice to what other people are looking for at these sales and that combined with what EvilN8 posted I'm beginning to think theres a good chance I could start putting some cash in pocket from scoffing up non gaming stuff. I mean why not. I'm out looking for game stuff every week anyway

Right now we are only interested in collecting video games. I also collect Legos, so yardsaling has seriously boosted my collection. All the other things are just random purchases. Everything we buy is posted here.

Going down the profit route takes a lot of work, but if you choose an area that you are interested in and really become knowledgeable about it, then you probably will be able to make some money. It's really just knowing what to buy and what not to buy. Think: Antiques Roadshow appraisers.
It's really just knowing what to buy and what not to buy. Think: Antiques Roadshow appraisers.
My thoughts exactly.

While going to the supermarket to pick up some ribs for dinner I ran across a yardsale a few blocks over from my house. These items were all together on a table and just calling my name

100_0111.jpg.w300h200.jpg

Metallica Box set opened but looks like it was never used CD's are in pristine condition - $5
Potter Book - $2
2 Pokemon GB games .50 each

The girl wanted $5 for the box set, $5 for the book and $2 each for the games. She said i could have it all for $8. I thought it was fair. I also dished out my number to give to her brother who was not home but has lots of games and she thinks he will want to sell some. maybe something will come of it.

Picked up a couple DVDs for $2 each including Life Aquatic Criterion (missing Disc 2 however  )

One guy offered to sell me a bookcase with every book on it (probably a few hundred books) for $5, but they were all fairly junky books (literally not even one that I would have bought for a quarter) and I really didn't have the trunk space for the bookcase, so I easily passed on that. That guy was pretty funny, he was trying to talk up all kinds of stuff in the hopes I would buy something. "All my chairs are just $1 a piece now!"

Meeting colorful people is a good bit of the fun of hitting the sales. A few weeks ago a wet dog at one of the sales ran up to me and as I bent down to pet him I noticed he was running around and playing with a rock. Guy told his dog to get away before he chained him up to which the dog quickly grabbed the rock with his teeth and ran off into the back

A couple of the sales yesterday mentioned that somebody had bought their video games before I got there. Doh! N64 for $5 at one place and an Atari 2600 at another. Although frankly if the N64 didn't have the expansion pak installed it's hardly worth the bother of buying to resell. (They go for butkiss.)

I've barely seen any video game stuff at the sales for over a month now. Strange but I look for all kinds of stuff in addition to vidgames so it hasn't been that much of a downer. Only finds I've made have been the sort that are barely worth mentioning. For example I got 2 old style PS1 controllers and a PS1 AV hookup for $1 at a sale yesterday. Only reason I bought them is I have a spare PSX to unload but didn't have any controllers for it. I'd imagine that house had the PS1 somewhere in a closet but couldn't find it. (Lady mentioned she had some of the 'tapes' for it somewhere. So there's a great example of how systems end up getting sold seperated from their hookups.

When you buy a LEGO set how do you determine if it's complete? Do you just ask the guy running the sale and take their word for it? (I can't think of any other way to do it unless you take a look inside and it's just really obvious.)

I bought a Shuttle Discovery set (7470) for $3 yesterday which they said was complete but once I got home it is definitely missing some pieces. (Not sure how many but when I got about a third of the way through the instructions I was missing one.) Bit of a bummer as that sucker looks to be pretty cool.

But I did get another set (3052) for $2 that is indeed complete.

I also picked up a massive box of legos for $1 a year or two ago which has the instructions for 3 or 4 sets in with the pieces. But there's no way I'm sorting 20 pounds of LEGOS out into the sets.

It's really hard to tell. I inspect the contents for a few minutes and determine roughly how complete it looks. I also ask the seller if they know if it's complete. I've gotten people who actually insured that all pieces were there (and I later found out they were right), and then others who weren't sure (at least they are honest). The people who are unsure usually yield an incomplete set. I've lucked out and most of the sets I've bought have been complete, but there are a couple that are missing pieces. Usually, they are common pieces that can be borrowed from bulk buckets, so it's not too big a deal to me. In the end, my decision to buy or not comes from my inspection of the set.

I've had many disappointments, and it's always painful to leave any Legos behind. Once I saw a huge box for one of the old pirate ships (can't remember the #). I was so excited, but when I flipped open the cover, there were some pieces that were definitely not from the set and only a few pieces from the set (plus they were asking a ripoff price for what was there).

There have been others who break up sets and literally spread them around the yardsale. I saw one of the old space shuttle sets (#1682 I believe) in about 4 or 5 separate zip lock bags, each marked between $3-5. For example, 1 wing in one bag, part of the main body in another. I hate when people do this.

I also inspect buckets and bins of Legos. I was burned a few months ago when I hurriedly bought 2 bins of "Legos", come to find they were MegaBloks and Tyco blocks, with a smattering of Lego and Lego Bionicle pieces. Call me a purist, but I want nothing to do with anything non-Lego. From then on, I've checked any buckets I've come across to make sure they are indeed Lego. The good thing about buckets, in addition to the extra bricks, is that there is usually an almost-complete smaller set thrown in.

I went to a hamfest (ameteur radio sale) with my dad today and found a non-GH copy of MGS1 for PSX in *perfect* condition. No marks on the discs whatsoever, looks like it's never been played. Price: $1 :D

I ended up putting the entire shuttle together last night. There were maybe 8-10 pieces missing, but I was able to scrounge all but 5 of those from a large box of bulk legos I have. There is a sattelite you put together after the shuttle and 4 of the missing pieces go towards it (they are all ones that had many of the same type in the set and I had used them all up for the shuttle) And one goes to the shuttle, it's one of the large black cones that make up the rocket boosters. I actually contacted LEGO (through their site) and listed them out as having been lost from the set. Their reply indicates they try to replace a small number of lost pieces, often free of charge. So we'll see. I also found a kind of junky site that sells individual pieces, I could maybe see myself buying them there if it came out to $3-4 shipped total, but I don't think they have the black cone piece I need.

I initially thought there must have been a bunch of pieces missing as the box just didn't seem full enough, but it turned out to be mostly all there. I haven't put any LEGOs together in a very long time and this set is really pretty cool. The bay doors open and the landing gear pops up and down. It was pretty cool to see how these odd doohickeys I was making with the LEGOs all came together. I can't imagine coming up with that design.

I just picked up a box of these on your recommendation, and I must say, THESE ARE THE SPONGES OF GOD! Every bit as effective as Goo Gone (if not moreso) without the mess or lingering super-citrus smell.

Not only did these clean up my dirty systems, but I tried them on the palm rest part of my laptop, where I had some palm stains (just from constant use) that I thought were permanent. But voila! They're gone! Incredible. I stuck some PDA screen protrectors on there now so that I don't re-do the damage.

As with Goo Gone, you have to be careful that you don't rub TOO much. I accidentally took a little bit of paint off of my laptop, but overall they did much more good than harm.

BTW, evilmax, I just read about your Dreamcast kiosk score.... :applause: I'm utterly jealous. Makes my Rhapsody-for-$5 find seem paltry.

I'd take Crystal off your hands if you don't want it ;)
While going to the supermarket to pick up some ribs for dinner I ran across a yardsale a few blocks over from my house. These items were all together on a table and just calling my name

Sorry, my son is currently enthralled with this game. You're the second person to try and buy this from me on CAG. Is there something special with this game? I'm not really up to snuff with Gameboy goods.

I have not checked the local papers, but I rarely see yard sales when I'm going to a store or around. Too bad the bigger cities used to have tons of good stuff when I went there a weekly basis years ago.

It's harder to find then the others.

You know I never find such goodies lately I find either knockoffs of gba games or 3rd party xbox controllers that look shoddy. The only best thing I saw was a nintendo zapper with the cord snipped selling for 50 cents. Even I wasn't interested in that junk... Too many old people living around my neighborhood too. All I see is old furniture and books.

this question is too evilmax, or snot, i cant rember the op, but can we add finds at other places then yardsales, like pawnshops, i really only like this thread, and have been hooked on yardsales, but during the week when i am off i go to pawn shops and video stores trying to find those rare gems, or really good deeals.

Yup! Pawn shop finds, Flea Markets, Mom and Pop stores, Craig's list, it's all good. All of the stuff you get from these places are along the same lines as to what you would find at a yard sale, so why not!

Corrupted is such a harsh word. "Enlightened" sounds much better. I'm glad that I've made an impression. I actually scored a couple things today myself at a local flea. I'll post a pic shortly

i will agreee about the enlightened part. i live in upstate sc, i have hit atleast 40 pawn shops and every mom and pop video store within 30 miles. every pawn shop says the same thing, i will dig them up and give you a call. everything from atari 2600 games too saturn and of course nes, snes, and n64, most want a dollar a peice or one price for the bag they are in, they dont really care just want to get rid of it so they get room.

bought sim them park- ps1 1.00 complete
piolit wings 64-1.00 cart only
walice country club for 3d0 2.00 complete

my only problem is my job, i work like a swing shift sorta, some days i go in at 3 am others 9 am and we work 12 hour shifts, but luckly i have gotten recruits for me. i showed them what to look for and what price is good, so if i do end up with duplicates i am only out .50 cents, so i give them to friends

Got these at my local flea market today.
Batman Returns - complete
Altered Beast - complete
Burning force - complete
Ms Pac Man - Cart only
Gameboy w/Ms. Pac Man game and new batteries Duracells no less

It was hot as hell the place was totally desolate. All the vendors were looking like they wanted to go home. I came across a very nice old Latin woman selling clothes and shoes. She had these games stacked in the corner of her table covered with some old shirts. Luckily a box was sticking out a bit and I investigated. She wanted $3 ea. for the boxed games and 2 for the Ms.pac man genny cart. She wanted $4 for the game boy and it came with Ms. Pac Man (SPECIAL COLOR EDITION) game and new batteries. I knew the vendors here were not having a good day by the lack of patrons and that this ladie would go much lower on her price. I stacked the goods together and offered $5 cash in face, which she thankfully agreed on. She actually replied "thank you I'll take it" I thanked her and went on my way. When I got home and was checking my games in my nicely air conditioned home. I started thinking about the old lady and felt bad for her sitting in the blazing heat trying to hawk her mostly useless goods for a few dollars and how much that must really suck. I think this is the first time that got a pretty decent deal that I regret. I should of given that old lady $2 or $3 more. I know she needed the money more than I do. But I always think of this shit after the fact

Well, I didn't find much today. The garage sale season is winding down. All my finds today were at a church garage sale I found by chance.

Command & Conquer: Generals
FFVIII (for PC)
The Iliad (a book)

I got that for $0.75. I also picked up Spy hunter for the NES at goodwill for a $1.

how you figure that, we still have a month of hot weather left, where i live we have them till late october early november

Picked up these at a local thrift store this week for $1 a pop (no price negotiations available)

-Killer Instinct (SNES)
-Paperboy 2 (SNES)
-Stunt Racer FX (SNES)
-Spiderman X-men Arcade Revenge (SNES)
-Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode (NES)
-Renegade (NES)

I only collect classic games, so this was a decent deal. My brother also found Cruising USA for N64 while cleaning out his room, and gave it to me. I never owned an N64 prior to last year so we're speculating a friend must have brought over an N64 a long time ago, and it got lost in his room. Fiance should be happy because that is her favorite arcade game.

I saw this at the thrift store on Wednesday for $1 and was happy until I opened it up.. and it had no game inside... I remember playing that as a kid, dissapointed it wasn't in the box.

Well, I walked down my street to a garage sale and picked up the following for $5.

Sega Genesis Ver. 2 (1 original controller, 1 Performance super pad, original power cord & RF unit)
Sonic The Hedgehog (Complete "Not For Resale" version)
Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie (cart only, some rips on the sticker)
Ballz 3D (cart only)
Cool Spot (cart only)
Madden NFL '94 (Complete)
NBA Action '94 (Complete)

They were also nice enough to tell me that if they found any more of their games around the house, they would bring them down and drop them off at my house. I already had most of these games, but I'm excited about Cool Spot and the 6 button controller.

1 Gameboy Color (teal, missing battery cover)
1 Disney Magical Racing Tour (GBC, cart only)
Paid: $1

1 Lego Bionicle Rahkshi Turahk 8592 (sealed)
Paid: 25 cents

1 Five Dollar Bill
Paid: FREE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crappy day today.

26 sales, and we barely saw any game-related stuff at all. 2 different houses had almost the exact same game-offering, which was 7 old PS2 sports games apiece.

Found $5 on the street, that was pretty cool.

There was one yardsale that was really memorable though. I walked up to it and was casually looking everything over, when I saw a Doraemon (popular japanese cartoon) board game, with all Japanese writing on it. "Wow, don't see that every yard sale" I thought. Then, right above it, I saw a bunch of Japanese CDs. "Whoa!" Then a bunch of other Japanese stuff! I looked up to see that the sale holders were, in fact, Japanese. Everything they were selling was Japanese, from children's story books to toys to even Lego-type-blocks with kanji on them. It was all stuff we were into, and they were really nice, but they didn't have anything specific that we wanted to buy. Still really cool to see though, probably won't see anything like that ever again.

But yeah, we barely saw anything. Too bad.

went out today for my second week of 'sailing:

5 great nes games for $1 total = good

3-piece altec lansing computer speakers for $3 = great

giant squishy green thing to play with (possibly some sort of back exercise device) = priceless

good times.

the yard sale gods smiled on me today

tengen-tetris- complete, .50 cents
dynasty warrior 4 cartridge only .50 cents

hell after tht everything else was crap

just missed a nes at a thrift store for 4 dollars, had 7 games all hook ups and light gun

rest of odays haul

all the .10 cartridge only

fifa 96-gen
pacman 2-new adventur- gen
beavis and butt head- gen
evander"real deal" hollifeild boxxing-gen

3.00 spiderman for ps1, saw it was a lost gem on g4
2.00 tetris plus, sealed

2.00 complete cruisin usa-n631/2
2.00 cartridge only sim city snes

so if i figure correctly i spent less then 10 dollars and according to my collector guide is worth a grand total of 140.00, god bless the yardsale god.
