This is one of my biggest problems...the team played much harder when Tebow was in there. That just says they are not playing up to where they could be the rest of the time.
Orton has not played great but clearly no one else has either. So before people bench him and claim its all his fault try looking at your piss more defense....your piss poor running game...your piss poor WR and your piss poor play calling.
I wouldn't shit on the receivers since they've had a significant number of injuries to that group, including one of the games where they only had three guys that could suit up and had to throw in TEs and Tebow to fill in holes. Their defense has been the main reason for their losses, as they can't really stop anybody with any kind of consistency, which can also be linked to injuries and a lack of quality depth. To back that up, Denver's opponents average 28 points per game on them, which would be the #8 scoring offense in the league while their own offense is merely average at #19.
Denver hasn't had a consistent running game since Shanahan was the coach, though McGahee's probably the best they've had since the big 1k yard runners in Shanahan's better days. Moreno has some flashes of being good, but then he gets hurt and can't do anything for most of the game.
The only real way that they can turn it around is rebuilding through the draft, especially on defense, which will take them another year or two to really be in good shape if their picks work out.
If they're going to start Tebow for good, they should give Miami a call about taking Orton off their hands since they're probably desperate with Garrard declining a chance to start for them.
