Official 2011-2012 NBA Season thread

Oden had knee problems in college, the entire league knew it, but they still took him 1st overall when many teams preferred Durant. Thats not unlucky, that was a poor decision from the start.

Yea but I dont know if you guys are truly looking at it the situation.

There has to be something slightly more to it than that, what about Grant Hill? Who seemed to be made of pixie sticks and string when he was in Detroit, goes to the Suns and magically is able to play another 5 years?

I have seen it dozens of times, a player cant even sniff medical clearance on one team gets cut, goes to another team, then all of a sudden he doesnt catch another injury for the rest of his career.

If every team was the same and it was all luck you wouldnt even need trainers would you?

Didnt Hill have issues in Orlando too? There's nothing wrong with Portland, it's certainly better than being in OKC or New Jersey :)

Steve Nash too. Didn't Cuban call him a walking injury, or something else, at one point?

That last part happens too often.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? I love New Jersey! Sort of...
Clippers cant seem to put the Grizz away. Smush face Z-Bo making sure of that.
Is it wrong of me to think Griffin hurting himself on what was borderline flopping hilarious... Flop city represent

Mike Brown your defensive specialist ladies gentlemen, letting a inferior team that you should have either swept or beat in 5 take you to 7.

lol Kobe sick as damn dog looking like hes gonna pass out and yet he still is the best player on the floor, how pathetic. Also i find it funny George Karl is so quick to bitch about any team team in the league getting away with whatever yet shuts his mouth when he has 2 6'11 and above players flopping against people 5 inches shorter than them lmao.

I freaking know rite. Can't believe they gave this fucking lame coach 4 years. Can't said I'm surprise d that, Lakers are terrible on the road, under 500 on the road.

Great win by the Celtics and 76ers tonight. If the regular season is any indication, all of these upcoming games will be blowout wins for the victor.

Celtics in 6. Celtics/Pacers WCF.

Celtics/West. Celtics #18.

Man please Denver beat the lakers just so I can watch the world burn in la.

Man these playoffs are a disappointment though.

Too many injuries this year have derailed a decent amount of teams. I love Ty Lawson, I got to see him play last year in Denver, I thought he had a good chance of becoming a good player with more playing time.

Yeah, the injuries to key players all over the league has been brutal this year. The Heat should roll to the finals (which sucks because all the media will just force more "is bron a closer..blah blah blah) and OKC/Spurs/Lakers should be in the west. With Blake and CP3 gimpy they are/should be done.

God I hope the nuggets beat the lakers but even if they do they will get rolled soon anyway.

After watching this round of the playoffs unfold, I don't expect my Celtics to do diddly squat and I'm hoping for Thunder dominance straight to the championship.

Cause they were too busy living up to their name

Finally Lake show closes the Nuggets. Pau decide to show up big tonight. And Metta and BLake were huge from the three as well.
Now hopefully Clips and close out Memphis tomorrow at 10ampst. Nice as soon as I wake up I got a game 7 waiting for me.
Clips/Grizzlies will be close, but neither team has enough to make it past the next round though.
Not Memphis, Spurs got a vendetta against them for last year, swept them in the regular season but Clippers are capable of winning that series.

Maybe....this is the first year in so many LAC has been good. No more laughing stock of the NBA, Charlotte gets the honor...although NJ wasn't that great either this year. If LAC had a strong center to go with Griffin/CP they would dominate. Personally I think they could dump Butler and just start Young.

They just overpayed Jordan to keep him (Restricted, GS offered a lot of money) and Butler is more of a 3 while Young is more of a 2. They could start him, depending on the matchup, but he's undersized for the position. Not a great defensive player either, so he'd get wrecked by Gay during this series (for example).

I think the Clippers have done wonderful this season, and I hope CP3 stays around after his contract runs up next season, but I don't see a championship in the immediate future for the team. Its definitely better than where they were though, by a long shot.

While I'm pulling for the Thunder now, I definitely want to see the Clippers advance.

Grizzlies aren't going to do much. Last years 1st round advance was a fluke.

Gotta love how Miami flop/fell down to the ground about 42+ times with stern in the audience thought i was watching wwe for a min, how pathetic.

The only thing that flopped tonight was the Indiana pacers. Although miller did flop a little bit while stern was talking....that was embarrassing.

I actually agree with what Stern said and I don't really understand why anyone would be against it (except for the floppers). Maybe have game footage reviewed after the game is over and assess "flop points". Once a player reaches a certain point total, they start receiving fines and suspensions. Flopping not only cheats the game, it also slows down the flow of the game.

He got hit on the side of the neck....its right there. There was no call and he kept playing. Only thing that flopped yesterday was the Memphis grizzlies and the pacers. Oh and how about you provide some video of ALL the missed free throws the pacers had late in the 4th quarter.

Uhhh this flopping things is bullshit. Stern can shut the fuck up...if you want to get rid of flopping then get refs that are not complete crap and have the balls enough to actually call the right plays.

Because of the size of a soccer field an average ref will run roughly 6 miles during the course of a game. I can slightly understand how they can miss some calls.

A basketball court in a mere 94ft long and there is 3 fucking refs and 109u890409859034 cameras surrounding the court. There is NO reason why basketball is one of the worst officiated sports. At any given time there a ref about 10ft away from any part of court.....GET BETTER REFS!!

Not willing to admit that LeBron embellished even a tiny bit there?

One of my favorite players Manu Giniobli is guilty of being a flopper. I hate watching him pull that crap.

Hopefully Stern does something besides fix games and playoff series and get rid of this shit.

lol side of the neck but grabbed his upper chest area its ok we all know stern wants them in the finals in any shape or form:applause:

It was a good no call on the refs. I've been watching Lebron all season, and he's not a guy that "flops" on plays. He gets hit... ALOT! He embellished there. NO TEAM is perfect when it comes to flopping. This is the league and the style of play that Stern has allowed. Players are going to do what it takes to win. Overall, I think that Heat / Pacers game was officiated pretty good.

Kobe Bryant proves again that he is the most over rated defender in the league. Westbrook fucking murdered him the entire game.

Also, 76ers game which ended on a foul....GOOD CALL. This is why basketball is such a brutal sport to watch now. Its one of the very few sports that rules can only be applied at certain times and certain people. KG is one of the worst screen setters in the league....why doesnt he just learn to actually set a legal screen then he wouldnt be called.

Its just proof that games are influenced by refs far more with non calls then any other sport.

LOL i knew once Indy went up by 11 refs were gonna step i nto try their hardest to make the game close, glad Pacers still won going 5v8 good job.

Clips better watch out, they're facing OG flop city

why learn to set a legal screen when the refs let you get away with it 99% of the time?

I was shocked that the ref made that call at that time. So was KG, probably.
