life, wether your console is " brand new" is highly debatable.
sp00ge, get on the phone and complain to them. Don't worry about getting a "new" console at this point. We really don't know how "new" those consoles aren't. The " new" consoles being sent back by microsoft with the july 07 mfg dates probably have the same stuff in it that yours does. You just made the request too early to get one.
My wife actually got on the phone when she got home from work. She's more of the phone arguer of the house.
Anyways, they tried to pull that "Would you like us to send you a crappy game?" routine. She stood firm about it, talked to a supervisor and we're supposed to be getting a call back from a higher up in the next 24-48 hours (Yeah, we'll see).
I'm not concerned about getting a 'new' system, but it would've been nice to get another core console. I absolutely despise the way the premium tray looks. But all I really care about is getting reimbursed for the massive amount of XBL we got cheated out of.
Ok, so, I think I'm screwed. I put games in the disc tray, load 'em up, and then all that comes up is "open tray". Oh crap. Am I screwed? I got my 360 in November, so I'm not out of the 1 year warranty (Right?) I know its not covered in the new 3 year warranty, but am I going to have to pay for this? And if you have to send in your 360, do you lose out on all your game saves?
So if this is true, then my very 1st 360 is dead. I don't know if I'm going to bother with a second one if I have to pay a large fee.
AZUMANGAMAN'S 360: Nov 17/2006-August 9/2007
That's the same thing that happened to my first console a few months ago. It started having trouble with disc, and then it would not read them at all. Don't worry, you're still covered under the initial 1-year warranty. The extension past the first year is for RRoD only.
