Yes. And we have no way right now to know if you're going to get one or not. Nothing. And it's not like HDMI is such a small deal that MS can just brush it off.

I mean, seriously, when was MS going to announce that these were out in the wild?
Does it have an HDMI port and/or run any cooler/quieter?
no HDMI port, but it seems to run quieter

IMO, HDMI for the 360 is worthless - it cannot carry lossless audio for HD-DVD, which is the only practical use for it.

Wow, that's kind of messed up. I'd like an HDMI option, useless or not.

Hmm. Just read somewhere that all Falcons will have HDMI on them. This may or may not be true.

Ok, why the HELL would Microsoft manufacture some new 360s with it and some new 360s without it? Both premium.

UPS shows MS just received my console today. I called to check the status and it is already repaired and on it's way back. :whistle2:k

Ok. Here's the scoop. Sorry if I got your hopes up, and I feel like an ass for that. Basically, (I think ) microsoft is changing the serial numbers and the manufacturing date. What I know is that you're not getting a Falcon. All falcons have HDMI. You are getting a refurb with the heatsink.

Premiums now carrying HDMI is an odd coincidence with the phone call I had with MS Customer Support on Sunday to get my coffin. I figured I would just ask, for the hell of it, if the replacement I could get could possibly have HDMI output, and I was told those were for Elite only (keeping in mind this was just as recent as Sunday, which the new Premiums would have had to have been shipped out by then, but most likely just a cs rep that didn't know about it). But now with this new information about the Premiums, I am going to call back and ask about getting HDMI output on my replacement again, figure it can't hurt to try.

Right after I downloaded the update, my 360 could not recover my gamer tag. I was on the phone for about 2 hours with microsoft to see if they could help. Well they could not! So they are sending me a coffin for my 360, and I hope they can revive it.

R.I.P. AMAZING MUTATO 11-5-06 to 08-07-07

I just got my coffin and am preparing to send it back, but I have just one quick question. Do I need to get a receipt of delivery that was suggested to me by the MS CS rep, or will the standard tracking number do fine to verify that MS has received my Xbox 360? Thanks.

Got mine back and MS screwed me again. They sent me a premium console with that ugly-ass chrome drive tray and no Live card this time.

So now I am out a total of 4 months of live (two for my account, two for my wife's) on top of the headache I already had with this shit.

Edit:Console is a build of 6/06.

This is bullshit.

Just got mine back, they sent me a brand new console, Manufacture date of July 28, 2007. It DOES have the addition heatsink, but unlike what those guides tell you, the knob that I see is actually silver (not bronze/gold like those guides tell you). And I assure you I am looking at the right thing because my brother has a 360 and his doesnt have it. I also got a 1 month card for xbox live.

Just turned it on and it is very quiet compared to the 747 that I sent in.

Ok, so, I think I'm screwed. I put games in the disc tray, load 'em up, and then all that comes up is "open tray". Oh crap. Am I screwed? I got my 360 in November, so I'm not out of the 1 year warranty (Right?) I know its not covered in the new 3 year warranty, but am I going to have to pay for this? And if you have to send in your 360, do you lose out on all your game saves?

So if this is true, then my very 1st 360 is dead. I don't know if I'm going to bother with a second one if I have to pay a large fee.

Saved games are on your memory card or hard drive. I have returned 2 systems and have had no problems with my saves, arcade games, points, etc. because you don't send the memory card or Hard Drive in for repair.

life, wether your console is " brand new" is highly debatable.

sp00ge, get on the phone and complain to them. Don't worry about getting a "new" console at this point. We really don't know how "new" those consoles aren't. The " new" consoles being sent back by microsoft with the july 07 mfg dates probably have the same stuff in it that yours does. You just made the request too early to get one.

My wife actually got on the phone when she got home from work. She's more of the phone arguer of the house.

Anyways, they tried to pull that "Would you like us to send you a crappy game?" routine. She stood firm about it, talked to a supervisor and we're supposed to be getting a call back from a higher up in the next 24-48 hours (Yeah, we'll see).

I'm not concerned about getting a 'new' system, but it would've been nice to get another core console. I absolutely despise the way the premium tray looks. But all I really care about is getting reimbursed for the massive amount of XBL we got cheated out of.

That's the same thing that happened to my first console a few months ago. It started having trouble with disc, and then it would not read them at all. Don't worry, you're still covered under the initial 1-year warranty. The extension past the first year is for RRoD only.

Doesnt really matter to me, Im one of the few that have the new heatsink right now, so if the rest of it is old or not, I really dont care. It has the BenQ drive aswell (which I think is the only drive they use now).

I guess I get to join this highly exclusive club now.

Long story short yesterday was a fine day for my console since it went from taking three minutes to boot up and barely being able to detect my controller's signal to a fairly consistant RROD with a GPU Error/Overheating problem each and every time.

So, a 48 minute phone call (website wasn't working properly) later and I have my coffin on the way. I just hope that I get my original console back but, eh, whatever they have to do. I'm not thrilled but it at least forces me to do my actual work before I have to start teaching again. ;)

This blows goats, I didn't even have my replacement a month now before the DVD drive decided not to read discs anymore. Sending back my 5th, hopefully the 6th will last more than a month, whoopie!! Good thing I bought a core the last time I sent it in so I can still play while this one goes back.

Ok...hmmm...Serveral issues and concerns that I have. First off, I'm an idiot. Secondly....

Ok, the box tape was a little annoying and I accidentally pulled part of the tape on the bottom of the box. Then I resealed it with duct tape. Would UPS accept that or would I have to buy some packing tape from somewhere? I don't plan on shipping it today so I have some time.

Also, so you HAVE to ship it by UPS? Usually that would be conveniant, but seeing as I only have USPS places near my house it really makes htis a bit more complicated than it is. i would schedrule a pickup but A). that costs money and B). I go to school week after next. Yeah...

huh? you have a tracking number, are you sure they won't take it? I'd call say I have a package with tracking ready to ship to microsoft.

You don't have a UPS store nearby? Those places are almost everywhere. You can just drop it off, tell them it's prepaid and they'll take it and you're on your way.

The problem about them not taking it was with the duct tape. THought there was some regulation that prohibtted that ...

And nope, not a close UPS place. Going to have to call to have someone pick it up buecase I have practically no way to get there. I don't exactly know if they'd but the " everything's prepaid by microsoft" thing, though. I wonder how much a pickup usually costs?

I just went to call Microsoft to see if I could have talked to someone about possibly getting a replacement with an HDMI out, but there was a prerecorded message saying that my console was repaired and shipped out. I just dropped mine off at the UPS office last night, and the UPS tracking number shows that they have not received it yet. Maybe they are shipping out refurbs before they get the consoles, but who knows.

Got home from work yesterday. Yet another "Unplayable disk" error. AGAIN ! No whirly whirl when you put a disk in.

This will be console #5 in less than a year and a half. I held for a supervisor to ask for a NEW console rather than a refurb. I was told it will take an extra week to process this request to no guarantee. I told them with as much gaming time I've missed due to broken consoles, what's another week.

Anyone out there know if I actually have a shot at getting a new one ?

Sunday I got the 3 rings of death. Well I have been doing the towel trick and today after renting 2 games my disc drive no longer works.

I stuck in monster madness and played that awful pile of waste and took it out and stuck in Call of Juarez to see how it was.

So I have both of the biggest 360 problems in one week. Does it get any more unlucky in the 360 world. I'm wondering if my hard drive will crash while i am playing arcade games.

Well, it hasn't caught fire yet...

Never mind.. The classic pull the plug worked, weird.

Edit:Controllers only worked for five min before losing their connection.I haven't been able to connect them since, even with the plug-n-play cord.

mine just died for the third time yesterday. disc read error this time, as opposed to the last two that were 3 red rings.

they said microsoft was gonna call me on monday to work out "compensation"

anybody have this happen, or know what they might give me?

When Xbox 360 #4 arrived to my home a few months ago. I received Crackdown, 1 mo. XBL, and 1 wireless controller (white). I'll be getting coffin #4 this week, I'm just hoping for a new one this time. These refurbs are killing me.
