Metal Gear Solid V Limited Edition for PS4 is in stock at Target's website for the first time in a long time.

EDIT: All gone now.

One of the trophies basically requires your faction to be the top PVP faction, PLUS you have to be #1 in the leaderboard for it.

So unless they reset leaderboards to keep it fair, it'll probably be one of the rarest trophies ever. PC players are saying even if you played 10-15+ hours daily you still wouldn't even be close
Wow. Seriously? I absolutely HATE it when they do achievements/trophies like that. Its just ridiculous, and its the first I heard of this. I am not as particular about 100% everything anymore but the fact that there is 0 possibility to ever do so later is a real let down! What were they thinking?? EDIT: Also, which achievement is this? Is it the "emperor" one?

Limited Wii U Zelda edition
Are you doing an experiment for a class or something? Just figured you tossed that out there as a social experiment or something?

Decided to support Bloodstained on Kickstarter in the $100 tier.  fuck, I hate being a collector sometimes.  About two more days left if you are still holding out.

I hopped on the Bloodstained KS too over the weekend.  I ended up going for the signature box level since Castlevania is one of my all-time favorites.  I love the promo video on their KS page.

I couldn't hold back and ordered a bunch. Who knows if they'll ever get restocked at amazon bestbuy or target
Bad idea. Target has a high cancellation right due to overselling. If you're planning on reselling I wouldn't list a single one until you get a shipment notification.

So do you have to buy via Kickstarter to get a physical copy? Site mentions exclusive content for backers, but I'm wondering if I can just hold off. I hate preordering videogames on Kickstarter.

You shouldn't really think of Kickstarter as a pre-ordering system.

For now, the project lists the physical editions as "Special Backer Edition". But, that doesn't rule-out future physical releases. They just won't be the same as those given to backers. The tiers also list out what is unique about them. There's also a quick descriptor of a few Kickstarter only details:

The physical copy of the game for Xbox One, Playstation 4, Wii U, PS Vita, Steam (PC/Mac/Linux), or GOG (DRM-free PC/Mac/Linux) will include exclusive Kickstarter-only content:
  • The mighty swordwhip
  • A super-powerful hidden boss
  • A Kickstarter Edition slipcase

It really depends on if the project is a big enough success that they can convince retailers to carry inventory of physical copies of the game. Once they complete the project, and look at what kind of demand there is for physical releases of the game outside of demand for digital customers, they might do it.

Since I'm a huge sucker for physical releases, I jumped all over this as a backer. They smashed the shit out of their goal, and it has some amazing people with proven track records working on it, so chances of failure are low but still possible.

Ok that's what I thought, been debating what tier I want to pledge.

Nobody has jumped on that $7500 tier yet. If you do, you might find yourself with a one-of-a-kind silver ring ;)

Also, any encouraging I can toss at people to help fund means there's a chance that prequel mini-game gets funded.

My guess is you will eventually be able to purchase physical copies at most retailers. The only thing the Kickstarter edition will have is an exclusive slipcover and some exclusive in-game content.

Yeah. Not a fan of those types of trophies at all. I usually don't let them sway my purchase, but if theres literally a 0% chance I could ever Platinum it that kinda rubs me the wrong way.

I've backed quite a few games on KS/Indiegogo thus far.  I limit myself to only doing it for console/handheld (i.e. non-pc) games that have some sort of exclusive KS backer physical edition.  I've done Pier Solar, Class of Heroes 2, Elysian Shadows, Justice Beaver, and now Bloodstained.

I passed on Mighty No. 9 because the physical rewards weren't all that compelling to me (I much prefer alternate covers, autographs, and self-contained CE-style backer items to the piecemeal stuff that the MN9 one had).  I almost passed on the Bloodstained one too because of the lack of quantity limitation in any of the tiers.

IMO, the biggest downside is the lag time between backing and receipt of the finished product.  I'm still waiting on my Pier Solar goodies for Dreamcast and that was backed on November 2012 (they are in the final stages for Dreamcast backers now).    After figuring in a relatively reasonable 7% cost of capital, my $170 Pier Solar cost would be worth about $210 when I actually get my copy (assuming a Nov 2015 delivery estimate).  I'm still ok with it at that price because I loved the game for Genesis and wanted to support the Dreamcast/Playstation releases, but time value of money is something to keep in mind if you're on the fence about a Kickstarter campaign.

The whole Kickstarter thing just seems fishy to me. And I can live without the bonuses or whatever 99% of the time.

I just saw an amazing Megaman X figure posted on Reddit the other day that had a Kickstarter for it, was hesitating on ordering it until I found out they also had an Amazon pre-order page up as well, which I jumped on. Could have paid 20$ more on Kickstarter for a special color scheme, but I'd rather just deal with Amazon. (Plus I want the original color scheme anyway)

The whole Kickstarter thing just seems fishy to me.
I mean, it is buyer beware. I'm 100% sure bloodstained is going to get made, but I have heard of projects that just never finished.

I'm really on the fence about funding bloodstained. I mean, I'm pretty sure best buy will have this and I will be able to get it for 20% off. I do want to support stuff like this, but I would be supporting it just as much if I pre-ordered from best buy. I guess if I do get it I will be getting the $150 version because it would be the only version that makes sense to get bonus content.

Funding KS games is like pre-ordering a pre-order with no money-back guarantee, and is also years out.

Pretty sure I'm good on waiting for the retail/digital release and I'll have the same game as everybody else.

With Bloodstained, I think I'm sitting on the artbook tier.  I'm debating on whether I want to nab a phsyical copy for the vita to go along with it, but I don't think my funds will allow for it.  If I had the money I be getting the signature release like Callidus.  The problem with that is I would need another copy to play since I would never open the signature one.

I will say the only reason I'm willing throw this much money at this kickstarter it is because it's IGA.  I think that's why a lot of us are pledging to begin with, otherwise the CAGs in us would make us wait.  The man has never let us down in the past and I don't think he has any plans on starting now.  Hell when they announce they got Michiru Yamane & Ippo Yamada for the music I knew I got my monies worth right there.

For those on the fence.  My understanding was they found a publisher willing to take a chance on this game and this was to show them that there was support & demand for this type of game(which by most certainly it did) so the game isn't being totally funding by the pledges alone.  So the chance of a failure with this one I would say is even less so.  Also to given that I have no doubt their will be a post-kickstarter release, probably a physical one at that given how the well the kickstarter has done.  Whether they have a collector/limited/signature edition/or whatever when they do, I don't know.

So with that being said I say this.  If you want to pledge now, cool.  If you want to want wait until the retail version that I'm 99% sure will come, comes out that's fine to.  Either way just show your support IGA with his vision and a big fuck to all those companies who said nobody wants this type of game anymore, and BUY THIS GAME.

I almost pledge but the pricing on this is just ridiculous. 150 bucks to get an art book.. Just insane

Well it's not just a art book, it's an art book plus everything thing at the $100 tier. So technically it's $50 bucks for an artbook(hardcover btw).
I Know but the 100 is a key chain, a pin and a guide.. Not exactly a great value IMO.. Obviously other people think it is though.

I Know but the 100 is a key chain, a pin and a guide.. Not exactly a great value IMO.. Obviously other people think it is though.
The $100 is a phsyical copy of the game, w/kickstarter 'dlc'(I say dlc but don't know if it's actually dlc) special slipcase, keycain, label pin, button, cd soundtrack+digital, strategy book, name in the credits of the game, and the packing illustrated by Ayami Kojima. Is it for everyone? No of course not. But when you look at in comparison to actual LE releases it's not much different.

Take the Arkham Knight LE for example, you get a copy of the game, a steelbook case, a character dlc skin pack, a comic, a artbook, and statue for a $100. Some people might think that's not a great value, some do.

Bottom line if you think it's not worth it stick with the $28 digital copy then or wait until a retail release, no one is forcing you and it's all good.

Gamestop has Elder Scrolls Online $100 edition for pre-order online right now!  I am hoping to cancel/return if I can get it from BB tomorrow but I don't know if they'll have extra.

While I agree with what you are saying, there are always the occasional exceptions like Diamond Trust of London (DS) that only get a retail release through Kickstarter and nowhere else. That being said, I'm 99.9% sure Bloodstained will be available at all your favorite retailers in early 2017 - I'm just paying extra for the bonus goodies and slipcover.

I heard back from Josh today when I emailed him over the weekend and he said they were going to mail the parts out in waves. He didn't specify a timeframe though. So no real update.

Any update on Dragon Age CE replacement parts?
Just sent Josh an e-mail requesting an update. I'll post once I hear back. Last I heard was on 5/18 that they were hoping to get everything shipped by the end of May, but I haven't gotten any shipping notices yet.

I sent Josh a status update email in early May and I've heard nothing yet. I wouldn't be totally worried about it, but I haven't been asked for my mailing address yet so I'm not sure when to expect replacement parts...

Hmm... Josh reached out to get my shipping info a few months ago.  I think it was early- to mid-April.

EDIT: His e-mail requesting my address was March 23.

Just placed an order, thanks a LOT. </sarcasm> </sarcastic sarcasm>

EDIT: On a similar note, does anyone know the SKU for the :xb1: version of the $100 edition? I'm going to see if I can get lucky and save myself $20+tax on this game.

This is sorta old and I know everyone moved on, but I got my :xb1: Witcher 3 CE. It was well packed and came without any damage or silly labels stamped on the box. I didnt realize how big the box was until it arrived; absolutely love everything in it.

The steelbook though was the same as the pre-order steelbook. Shouldnt be it be different, or were they supposed to be the same? May be I got confused with all the talk about different steel books. Anywho, I now have 2 identical steelbooks, one from the preorder and the other from CE. Not a big deal...

Thank you guys!

The SB that comes with the CE is definitely different than the pre-order bonus SB that Best Buy gives you.

Well, it was not. May be they were out of SBs for CE or they had abundance of SB for pre-order. I got duplicates now...I am not going to feel let down though, the rest of the items in CE are top notch (though, I am no expert and tend to "like" even the silliest things).

Aren't the fronts the same but the backs different? Or are they different poses of Geralt on the front?

More likely than not someone swapped the steelbooks and returned the CE. The steelbook inside the collector's box would have been pre-packaged in there, not something Best Buy would have added. Too bad nothing is really sealed and frankly I'm surprised there haven't been more reports of missing Gwent decks and such.

They are completely different front and back although they are done in the same style and appear similar.

No, all 3 of the artworks for the G2 steelbooks were different, but they all LOOKED similar. They were done by the same artist and in the same fashion. The steelbook from the CE should have a picture of Ciri on the back (white-haired girl), the one given by BB as a pre-order bonus has the evil-looking Skull guy on the back.
(the other art with Yennifer and Triss was only available in CZ)

You may be onto something because it was not truly sealed. The circular sticker that was supposed to be holding the box shut was unstuck. So it was technically *not* sealed. I hope whoever got the steel case at least kept it instead of selling it for profit. Actually, I dont care what he/she did with it, I dont have it and that is that.

So, now that I think about it, the geralt figure was in a styrofoam box - is that how it should be? The cards were there, so was the chain, art book and the cloth map. So I guess I got all the items meant for the CE. fuck, now I am worried I didnt spend more time investigating all the items before heading back to work.

What was the artwork on the back of the steelbook? Were they both Ciri (white-haired girl), or an evil looking dark figure?

Both were Ciri...
Strange. That's the one that's supposed to come with the CE. So you're not missing anything at all. I'd imagine you could probably trade that one easier than the opposite -- trying to get a CE-only steel with an extra pre-order one. Stinks that you got a duplicate, but at least if you care about getting the second one, its in your favor, or you could just make a few bucks selling it to someone who didn't get the CE but wanted just the steel.

I think you've been had, my friend. Sounds like someone did a swap and return on that CE.
