I always suspect these people that take ages to get back to you do it on purpose, because they hope you'll just give up and they won't have to deal with you. Bad customer service IMO.

No one should have to wait weeks to get answers to problems that were no fault of their own.

I sent a follow-up e-mail to Josh yesterday afternoon and he replied in a matter of minutes letting me know they were still working on it. His response, in part (emphasis mine to show that they are planning on shipping us replacements):

"We are still working out the exact details pertaining to replacement items. We don't have an exact timeframe when the items will be shipped, however we are working around the clock on the resolution. I will contact you directly when more information becomes available."

Given the nature of the produce and how wide-spread the problem seems to have been, I'm not shocked that this is taking a while for them to sort out. They are likely going to have to have a whole new round of manufacturing done for these replacement parts and before that happens they are going to have to come to some sort of expense split agreement between them, GameStop, and whomever the distribution logistics company was.

I can assure you, this is not the case. Despite what internet ragers always say, the companies do care about their customer and their product.

No one SHOULD have to wait weeks to get a resolution to a problem, but if that problem is quite large and widespread it WILL TAKE TIME for the company to form a proper response and action plan. That's just the nature of such things.

Actually, you can't. You don't work for those companies and have no idea whether they care or not.

It's not difficult for a company to make a decision and communicate that to consumers. All GS/Triforce has to do is say "we are ordering replacement parts and will ship them out to you as soon as we have them". Giving us a generic response that it's "being worked on dilligently" is worthless.

Frankly, I haven't had a response back from Square Enix yet, so I will assume they aren't planning on assisting all of us who they screwed by cutting costs on postage/packaging for KH 2.5CE. Again, all they had to do is say "we will send you a replacement when we have them in hand". Instead, all of us just received generic customer service tickets and one update saying the case was escalated.

Well, each company has its own individual policies and feelings toward customers, but customer service in this country today is the worst it has ever been. When companies cut costs, that's the first place they always cut from and take resources away from. It's why companies outsource it to other countries where you always get people who are robots and can't speak english, and use automated services that never give you the answers you need.

They left that up to the retailer, I got a 20% discount for my GE from Amazon.

And you can't assure me that the companies don't care, based on the responses you've received from them. Just because they haven't given you the answer you want in the time frame you want it doesn't mean that they won't fix the issue at all. It's also not difficult for you to wait while they formulate an actual response...while I haven't started playing DAI yet, I can 100% assure you that not having every little thing in the CE for the game in perfect condition wouldn't affect me playing/enjoying the game.

I thought the general consensus, based on the last 100 or so posts, is that they cut cost from shipping and fulfillment first. :)

You're right, all I have to go on is the great customer service I have received from other companies over the years when there is a problem, widespread or not. Neither EA/GS/Triforce nor Square Enix has provided appropriate customer service to me or the others impacted and the fact that I have been sitting here with damaged goods sitting boxed up at my home for weeks now is totally unacceptable. The fact that you keep jumping in here and defending companies you know little or nothing about is nothing more than trolling.

Weren't you the same guy that claimed Square Enix just needed a few days to work out a solution and they would resolve all of our issues with KH2.5 CE? Here is your exact quote - "Give them A WEEK to figure out what to do. Hell at least give them a few days after release to figure out what to do." Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since I opened a ticket and spoke to their customer service to report the problem. Even with the holidays, it has now been 7 business days. That is poor customer service no matter how you slice it.

It saddens me knowing NA will never get this. I mean in the end I guess I'm content with the LE we got for the first game, but it's NOTHING compared to Japan's DX pack. I can only expect the same thing for the sequel.

Question I ordered the CE of BloodBorne at bestbuy with reward certs.  I thought that was the only CE we were getting(Maybe still is.)  if we by chance do get the other one and I cancel the order, will my reward certs be refunded or will they be forfeited?  Thanks

They will be refunded, but sometimes it's not automatic and you'll need to call customer service to have them refund the points.

They pre auth? Darn was going to use a bank card I use for things like this where I just put the money in about 2 weeks before the release. I hate how they keep all these things on their crappy site.

Edit: Thanks to the guy who played guinea pig and let us know. BBYs constant checking on cards makes me avoid pre-auths because it always gets my bank to deactivate my card thinking someone stole it (the system flags it) happened 3 times last year and I haven't tried since. End rant. This is the first time in a while I decided it was worth putting up with SE

On topic, I know very little about FFT0.  Is it a third person action type game, similar to what FFXIII turned into?  Cuz that's what it looks like in the trailer I've seen.  Also, anyone have an idea if this CE will be an SE exclusive?

Did anyone notice the custom PS4/Xbox One for grand prize winner? The canvas print of Noctis looks amazing. Why can't all that be a super deluxe mega ultra hyper limited Collectors edition?  :pray: Anyway you had me at 200 page manga and 80 page artbook. AND ff15 demo, AND steelbook looks nice, AND soundtrack. Everything pretty much.
