That actually is cheap compared to what Sony charged for limited consoles like the automobile color series in the past. I believe I paid $450 for mine from the Sony Store and that was at a time when the regular PS2 was going for $200.

This is the same e-mail they sent me on Wednesday of last week as I was on the phone with the customer service rep. It implies they will provide a replacement, but I suppose I should have focused more on the "look into" portion as that seems to be all they are doing.

(Though I will admit, I probably would buy two of every collectors edition if I was rich to have one sealed and one open. I guess I'll put that on my "If I win the lottery" bucket list.)

I'll keep you in mind as I tried to sell it on EBay, didn't take it out to inspect it, & am out the $30 to ship it UPS only for it to be returned so I'm hoping Triforce replaces it.

I think $500 is very reasonable as it comes with a stand and the camera plus the special box.

I'll definitely be trying to get my pre order in on Saturday.

No offense, but anyone looking at that bundle from the perspective of trying to find a good deal on a PS4 is NOT the target market for that system. They didn't make it for you. ;)

I will do everything reasonable Sat. to try to secure one of those preorders. And if I do, I'll sell my current system & use that one. :D

Because this was a rare and limited item and the people really wanted a copy in good condition?

I think you are a cool dude and all, but very often you like to tell people how they should be reacting in certain situations. Not everyone is going to look at it the same way you do, and there is nothing wrong with it.

I ordered one and happened to get it in good condition, but I would be annoyed if mine came damaged depending on how damaged it was. It was irresponsible to allow the items to be packaged that way, and even if it wasn't SE themselves that packaged it, they chose the shipping company. Again, their responsibility.

 
To those of you who ordered the panzerhund edition of wolfenstien prior to free shipping, I just got a response to my ticket that they will refund my $17 shipping...I almost feel like telling them to keep it because how well the packaging was and the speedy delivery (almost but I am a CAG). So if you got charged shipping you can open a ticket and get it refunded makes a good deal even better.
 
My KH2.5 came flawless. I've rarely come across a bad CE box experience that totally damaged the merchandise. My creases weren't dented and I'm definitely keeping my CE. I think people whine and bitch too much on CE's here. No one will ever get a 100% undamaged product. I consider 85 and up a good CE worth having and showing off. Like the other guy above stated. Seems mostly resellers are the ones moaning and bitching, not true collectors.

I have received numerous 100% undamaged product. Our products SHOULD be coming 100% undamaged. There is a lot to play into that which I won't go into. If it is with the delivery service then we should let the supplier know so they can handle it accordingly.

If it is due to the packaging job then they should be held accountable. If you pack a box terribly that is the fault of said person. Mine had some creasing in it which is fine for me, but maybe not anyone else. For all we know it could have been a gift for someone. I have yet to open mine, but if anything is damaged inside then that is a lot more of an issue to me. I care a lot more about the insides then the outside on this one. It is a nice though.

 
My Kingdom Hearts CE was delivered yesterday but its gonna be a month before i can check what the condition is like since i'm out of the country at the moment.

It might cost them more to package it in a different box or ship it through a company that isn't incompetent, add padding etc. I'm not willing to pay the cost.

Charging an extra $10 or so for those who want peace of mind knowing that there product will come in perfect condition sounds like a good compromise. Part of the $10 could even be "insurance", which means they'll replace the one you have if it somehow gets damaged.

Shipping was already $10 on this thing, and it wasn't heavy. At e-commerce bulk shipping contract prices, their shipping cost on it was probably in the $2-3 range, which means they are using S&H as a profit center. Combine that with the fact that this CE wasn't really all that expansive in terms of content above and beyond the $40 standard "LE" launch copy - just a Steelbook, plushie, and extra disc. So the incremental production cost of the CE is probably only $5-10, making their margins on these things massive.

It includes the PS eye camera and vertical stand, not to mention the box it comes in (it's pretty cool looking box based on the pics). It's not like they're charging you $100 more for nothing.

So you're saying a fulfillment company that doesn't even have a wikipedia page can ship a package at a 3lb rate across country using a non-economy service at $2-$3?

I'm guessing you don't ship much.

And even if they were able to get Amazon like rates, are materials and labor free?

LOL you're right. I've never shipped anything in my life and have no idea how fulfillment center contracts work. I didn't learn anything from the years I spent working for one of the largest e-commerce companies in the country. :roll:

I'm sure you knew this already, but Cinram isn't a new kid on the block in the world of logistics. They are one of the largest media and entertainment logistics companies in the world and do a ton of Disney's media logistics (along with Fox, Universal, and others).

Whether the items were damaged before or after arriving at the fulfillment facility is irrelevant to my comment. I mentioned margins for both the fulfillment center and the manufacturer/publisher.

I just don't see any value in the Inquisition CE. No artbook, no soundtrack, no figurine. Which version is the FF14 for?

I'm interested in your Dragon Age CE... looks like we have (more or less) opposite broken items, so I could part together a decent one with that. PM sent as well.

 
Panzerhund 0494/5000 arrived last night, looks real good. :)  I love that the panzerhund is posable, maybe I can have it attacking Santa or something.

EDIT:  not the REAL Santa, but a figure or something.

Just got my KH 2.5 CE... Jesus, how fucking stupid was it to ship something that flimsy in a box with no padding/protection. I've never received a CE before with every single corner damaged, and most every edge damaged. 

I'm so fucking pissed right now. 

 
I'm glad I went with the Best Buy pre-order for the non-CE Kingdom Hearts. I would have no part of waiting on them to decide if trashing my stuff warrants a refund, for starters. I got the pin that I wanted through Best Buy, and I guess that the world will keep turning, even if I didn't get what I REALLY wanted (that steelbook).

Now...to find a PS3, haha.

$10 shipping is incredibly expensive for something at 3 pounds if you have decent discounts, I'm glad GBAstar argued with you though and made himself look like a totally ignorant dick to even more people on this site. If you didn't call him out on it I was going to.

It's a GS exclusive CE for a very popular series, and a very good game. The ME 1 CE (also GS.com exclusive back in Nov. 07) was worth a lot even with the PH release of the original until the ending of ME 3 left a bad taste in people's mouths. (Sold my ME 1 CE used but complete for $200 on Amazon in Feb. 2012 a month before ME 3.)

Most GS exclusive CE's retain their value for a long time. See the prices even a year later for GTA V and Last of Us CE's (although those were available for a limited time in store for preorder.) I'd rather have some super large statue set of the whole group a la Halo Reach or something of that ilk but if Triforce ships me a new, non-broken-in-half chest with all of the pieces I'll be happy.

I'll be trying to buy as many PSOne 20th Anniversary PS4!!! If I buy all 12,300 units... it would cost me $6,149,877. I think I can double my money. Now I just need to find a bank that is willing to loan me that amount.

 
I have no interest in a PS4, but the idiot in me still wants one of those PS4s. Luckily, I can't afford one at the moment, because if I could, I'd absolutely buy it...because I'm an idiot.

I'm sort of crossed between getting the TLOU Remaster/GTA V for $400, or the 20th Anniversary for $500. The latter, obviously, I'll want to see how much they go for since it seems like a solid investment. We'll see if I can get in quickly enough. 

The Sony awards show thing starts tomorrow. I'm hoping to see a few more CE there since the list is a little sparse atm for 2015.
