I read "While supplies last" as a situation where all pre-orders are covered and there are a handful or more left over for "first come first serve" buyers.

But that may be a view through rose-colored glasses.

I see where you are coming from. But then again, everyone should expect shit like this happening when free items are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

You can preorder the regular or LE at GameStop also to get the figures.
 
I have 2 extras of the Special Edition SotC I would be willing to part with for what I paid + shipping.  Ordered them extra for a couple buddies and they backed out.

The Special Edition wasn't available to order on BB website or app. I walked in to my local BB, show the sku# and was able to preorder the SE. YMMV

 
Just got an e-mail from Gamestop saying that their exclusive Far Cry 5 CE has been cancelled by the manufacturer.  They have also pulled the two listings from the website.  

 
Just got my Dragon Ball Fighter Z collectorZ edition, anyone notice the BANPRESTO logo in the back on the upper right hand corner of the red mock-up box? Did banpresto have a hand in this game? Is Namco Bandai hinting at a Super Robot Wars X Dragon Ball game? That would be cool!!!

 
Speaking of steelbooks, Mass Effect Andromeda (with free steelbook) went on sale at Best Buy today for $11.99 ($9.59 GCU).  Not sure how long it lasts though.

Well, to be fair BB dropped the ball in allowing pre-orders as late as the day before release to get a steelbook. My GF's order was proof positive that they definitely are both to blame. I never had it added to my order, yet hers already came and she had no problem getting it so late in the game. I think that's where people are largely pissed off because many of us had our orders in months in advance but last minute orders got theirs.

You're right about that. I can never justify buying Ubi CEs because of that fact. Too many different versions with too many exclusives. It's a real turn off

I think I saw somewhere said Store Manager ordered employees to do first come first serve for preorder, instead of going by "who ordered earliest gets it". But yea, that's defeat the purpose of preordering.

I actually inquired with Best Buy because the sales person at my store said that they were sold out but should be getting more. They had a sale price listing on the shelves too next to the game for the Steelbook. I got a reply saying that the pre-order allocation was spoken for and they wouldn't be getting anymore I guess. Sucks for those who legitimately pre-ordered them.

 
Is the special edition of SOTC on Amazon not getting the prime discount? I can't remember the hard and fast rule of Prime exclusions but I thought in the past steelbook editions that were close to typical MSRP got the savings. I'll have to keep a look out at Best Buy if not.

Amazon isn't taking pre-orders on the SE for SotC anymore. I'm hoping to try my luck on release day at Best Buy. I went ahead and pre-ordered the standard edition, but will return/cancel if I can get the SE. I should have pre-ordered it earlier and messed up, I still think Sony should send me a free copy for my dedication of getting a SotC tattoo.

I liked the GS Far Cry 5 CE better than the other two.  Guess I'm sticking with gold edition for the steelbook and gamestop for the cool mug.

No, I have not, not even sure who would be the best person to Tweet that too. I am willing to give it a shot and see what happens though. I'll look into it more after work and send a Tweet out with a picture of my tattoo and see what happens. I'd be floored if they actually sent me a copy and I'd probably still pick up my pre-order of the standard edition just because haha.

I'm sorry just so I'm clear, does this mean that the prime discount was available when you pre-ordered it or did they adjust it automatically? My order is still showing $55. I had plenty of time to pre-order at Best Buy but I'd completely forgotten Amazon wasn't doing SE's anymore. I might have a chat with one of them soon but I wanted to be sure if it should apply first.

Wario64 and CAG on twitter reported Prime applies to SOTC Special Edition in December.


Usually hit that "update your payment" would applies the Prime Discount if you preordered before Amazon decide to give Prime Discount, not sure how/if it works when thing goes oos

My copy of Monster Hunter from BB just shipped minus the steelbook which was changed to 'reserved'.  With all that is going on I doubt I'll ever see the steel, but yeah it is just a little ridiculous how everything being handled with these things.

 
Went up to BB to attempt to order SotC SE through their system.  It wouldn't allow them.  Just in case anyone was thinking of trying.

Pretty sure it's because the yellow Order button on the product page goes away and it changes to 'Coming Soon'.   Still got a copy from Newegg, but would have liked the GCU discount.

The following usually works for me when I order a game before the Prime discount goes into effect: Go into order history and change the shipping speed to whatever it is not on currently and save it. You should get the discount then (assuming the item is eligible). Then change the shipping back to however you want it.

 
All you guys have problems getting the steel book while I had problems getting the digital pre order bonuses and got the steel book pretty easily xD.

Had to call best buy 3 times to get my code cause they kept sending me the wrong one (sea of thieves beta) and one guy hung up on me when I wasn't done talking.

im still missing the preorder code for MHW. i messaged one of the Best Buy guy in the forums. he didnt respond yet. been about 4 days.

 
Updated shipping for SOTC on Amazon and still didn't get Prime. Probably take it up with a CSR but wish there was a way to avoid it.

Same here, they're clearly swamped. Sad thing is the bonuses are worthless to me now since I've unlocked charms and can make my own.

Also, with Red Dead Redemption 2 coming out 10/26 this year, they've never done any CE's right? Hoping for at least a SB from BB at least.

Somehow got my ps4 mhw code today without complaining to anybody. Too bad I already sold the game and steelbook because I realized I only bought it because of hype.

GTAV and GTAIV had SE with V getting a SB. I wish I had the PS3 SB as I would have possibly upgraded to PS4 for that reason.
