It came out just over a week ago so hopefully this is one of those things where it gets a restock otherwise that was one small ass run lol. Kind of flew by under the radar on me too.

I probably am not the target as I thought the gear grind would be a lot more story driven this time around. I know there's a sizable backlash out there on lack of content but I wasn't a huge fan of Destiny so expecting major changes in the sequel was probably naive on my part.

I 1000% agree. The grind for the trickle of gear is what keeps me coming back for more (and I hit a major personal milestone in that regard over the weekend woot), and I am pretty far removed from the story elements of the game. I've recently started running Ikora's missions more regularly and it helps keep me in touch with the story that is there. I'm very excited to see what the next expansion holds, both story-wise and gear-wise.

On topic - The version of this CE that I want to get the most is of course the most expensive. :)

No. Wait when it hits 60 an below. I bought the limited edition of it and I like it but it's not worth the money lol. The trinkets are plastic and the journal is ok, so is the box that holds the trinkets but I just bought it on the fact I wanted the steel book and I was hoping the game would be better but it's not. The bag alone is worth at least $40 and the trinkets, game+season pass is good for $20.

It's gone. Aksys stated multiple times on their Twitter account that it was "very limited" and "once it's gone it's gone" Even tweeted about a week before release that there was a few PS4 copies still kicking around but Vita was gone. And today: "Anyway, once again, thanks to everyone who picked up a copy of #CodeRealize. While the limited editions are but a fond memory, the standard edition is plentiful and ready to be bought by YOU! (Yes, you there, with the latte)."

Price is already getting stupid on Ebay.

For anyone still on the fence about the GOW CE or stone mason edition, IGN gave the game a 10/10 so it may be another horizon scenario where the CEs look plentiful but then disappear shortly after launch and skyrocket in price.

God of War , buy it.  Favorite series of all time.

Though I'm still mad they shafted TC Carson.... let's just start changing Nathan Drake and all the other long running series voices.

I literally played all God of War games making sure I never looked up the actor so I would always see Kratos in my brain when I heard his voice.

Looked him up after they changed actors.  They killed the illusion for me.

There's my rant to stir up some of you :)

As of this post. I see stone mason only for in store pick up. And collectors edition is gone even tho it still has pre-order up its unavailable for shipping or in-store pickup. At best buy
 
Yeah, par for the course since BB would rather not have stores sitting on immense stock like the old days. They lock it down about a week in advance now to make sure their existing orders are covered and then open it up briefly after launch until whatever is left over is gone. I think retailers and Sony are wising up on order numbers to produce accordingly and it's working.

 
Pretty much everywhere I’ve looked has all GoW versions still up for preorder. I’m confused about the “stone mason” setup- just bonus items added to the collectors since most descriptions do not list the additional contents under “in the box?”

More specifically, is it a different package etc?

According to the stream, it sounds like it will go up for preorders on the Aksys store on May 4th and up on Roosterteeth on the June launch date. Doesn't sound like it will be available elsewhere.

 
Was planning on cancelling my GoW CE for a while, but after seeing the glowing reviews I'm not sure anymore. Would've rather just had a steelbook/artbook combo like they have in the UK.

 
I saw a vid of the statue in the GoW Stone Mason Edition.  Looks like a ballsack with paint.  Really wish Sony had done a set similar to Shadow of the Colossus with a steelbook and art book in a nice packaging.  Such bullshit.  I'll probably just cancel mine and grab a vanilla copy.

EU has a limited version with steelbook and artbook. It seems sold out in many places. I don't know why Sony releases two similar collector editions in NA and skip the limited version. That statue looks crappy

 
I'm really looking forward to it. The frame rate looks terrible in all review videos, and I lament the passing of one the last big Spectacle Fighter series, but I'm still down for, what appears to be, an overall very worthwhile experience. 

 
God of War looks awesome. I wasn't much of a fan of the original ones, they were mindless hack and slash with repetitive combat, no exploration and simple puzzle solving, but the new one looks great. This new proto genre of games that combine Tomb Raider exploration with RPG elements and open world action have become one of my favorite genres to play. Horizon was amazing, God of War looks amazing, the new Tomb Raider reboots are amazing. All-in on these types of games.

Price aside, the contents of this CE and the game itself makes it something I want to own. Much rather own this than some new stupid NIS LE that has basically the same crap in every single edition.

I do remember seeing a few videos (leading up to its release) and thinking gameplay looked choppy but the game never seemed to be running poorly (like Fallout 4 or Witcher 3 on PS4 when they launched). I've avoided watching any videos of the game ever since all the review scores started coming in. DigitalFoundry says it holds steady at 30 fps in most cases but does dip when things get hectic, on both the base PS4 and running at 4K on the Pro.

I'm honestly shocked at the scores... I love the series but didn't think they could do anything to revive the series and figured this game would in the mid-80s. To see it at 95 on Metacritic right now is pretty shocking.

Now I'm debating on dropping $150 on the CE. I don't think it's worth $150 but with the way the game's getting reviewed, I might have to.
