I got this from Walmart. My card has plenty of money on it. I hope this is a system wide error on their part and not a excuse for over selling and they reinstate the preorders

Kind of sad when you have to start pre-ordering in multi locations to ensure you get something.  

Edit:  Which I have been doing since lost out on the Division Collectors edition few years back.

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if the power armor version did get oversold, Best Buy so far hasn't cancelled on me

yea the email is pretty bullshit, because the game doesn't come out for months, there's no reason they should be processing the order right now.

I know some of them like to occasionally re-issue the pre-auth against your card leading up to the item shipping, I wanna say Target does it?

LOL, and yet I lucked out on Prime Day and got the collector's for 55 through Amazon Warehouse deals (not sure why it was that low, since the sale price for NEW item was 99.99). It was listed as box damage/ possibly repackaged. However, I received a still factory sealed set with very minimal denting to the box. Contents were perfect.

Now, if I had paid full price for the set, I would feel ripped off. This should always have been in the 99.99 range.

I will have to disagree with you about the Destiny 2 CE. Admittedly, it was NEVER worth 250. However, I paid 65 for it and feel like I got a bargin. The bag that came with this is very high quality. You would pay 40 bucks for a sling bag like the one included. And, the rest of the nick-nacks were cool as well.

TBH I hold off on these kinda CE's til they inevitably drop in price, it's not gonna be limited enough that people will actually hoard every item up

 
Told myself I wasn't going to get this CE, saw this thread and just got a $50 gift card from my Discover card rewards so I bought one. So if it doesn't plummet in price below $150, I am good.

Do you think? It is Gamestop exclusive, haven’t most of them been pretty limited in that rarely is there ever a price drop

I don't know what to think anymore. I thought this thing would sell out as soon as it got restocked, but lo and behold, it's still available on the website.

 
Darksiders III Apocalypse Edition is up at Best Buy, for those who still have CGU or rather have that version, than a new console.

Couldn't pull the trigger. I loved the first game and had fun with the 2nd. Had it in my cart, still have active Gamer's Club, … but the 340 total after taxes added in … way out of my comfort zone. I just don't see these selling out at that price. Maybe next year at this time if we get a 50% off sale on it, and I really like Darksiders III, I could justify 200. But anything above 300 is a pass for me.

I know you're joking, but I did notice on the Target page that the "product ships in its original packaging" which I would assume means the retail box and not a separate shipping box. I would assume Best Buy and Gamestop will use a proper shipping box, but I guess anything is possible.

I wonder how many apocalypse editions they made. At $400, you would think they'd made it pretty limited, but it looks like they're overestimating demand for something like this. especially when they also made an cheaper $150 edition. If they made a tons of these, then they're idiots. Dark Souls III also had a $400 Prestige Edition but they were smart enough to make only 2000 basically for the superfans. I felt like the Apocalypse Edition should be the same.

If you saw what things look like at my local Best Buy, you wouldn't take that bet. Plus, the employees autograph whatever is picked up.

Hopefully, these are boxed from the manufacturer.

I haven't ran into Best Buy being a problem when it comes to bubble mailers and CEs - that's Amazon. I can see Amazon slapping a shipping label on it and calling it a day.

I pre-ordered it for now, but may change my mind. Hopefully, there is an unboxing prior to it shipping. I know the Death figure was released - I just hope these aren't cheaper versions of that one.

 
Shipping in the original box is fine unless the manufacture decides to ship 2 per like with Ni No Kuni. Then they have to figure out a way to split them up. ;)

I mean, I cant imagine these figures are worth almost $60 each? seems too expensive for a figurine that probably is alright, but not super high quality. Maybe im just cheap, but I cant imagine buying this at $400 and feeling like you got your moneys worth.

They totally could be and that would be an ok price if they actually are high quality (Amazon sells the Death one for $80). If they are the typical cheap plastic garbage thrown in to many of these CEs, then this would be a huge rip-off. If they end up being the same as the already-released Death statue, it's not too bad...

 
The only true CAG move with a darksiders CE is to wait. This thing will lose value faster than Moviepass stock during an avengers movie release.

Amazon and Sony are having a dispute I believe. Sort of like when Nintendo didn’t sell any 3DS systems on Amazon.
 
Not CE related, but thought it was funny. All this discussion about how CE's get packaged, sometimes in bubble mailers when they clearly need a box...I just ordered 2 netflix giftcards from BB during last weeks deal, and they shipped the 2 giftcards...in a box with air packets...

 
The last straw with Amazon for me was receiving Bravely Default CE all smashed up in a bubble mailer, and the next day getting a BD in an oversized box that, when I placed the CE in, fit perfectly. That was the day I swore off ever buying a CE from them again and largely contributed to why I'm no longer a Prime member going on 3 years now.

Would like to know this as well. Has there been any info about this releasing stateside? I haven't heard anything and would really hate to miss it if it's Japan only. (Not that I think I have a chance of beating the resellers here in America but I can dream)
 
Anybody else get a 25% off any game at Best Buy due to their GCU ending? I was able to use it with my GCU before it expired and pre ordered the black ops 4 mystery box edition for $119.99 (normally 199.99). Also does Best Buy cancel orders on collectors editions as much as other retailers? I’ve had bad luck at amazon/gamestop a few weeks before launch telling me they were sold out even though I got a pre-order in.
