FAQ's:

  • Amazon & Gamestop do not have a pre-authorization charge.
  • Bethesda Store and any of the Treehouse Brand Stores do not have a pre-authorization charge either.
  • Best Buy, NISA Store, Square-Enix Store all have a pre-authorization that goes away after 3-4 days or so, 7-10 days max.
  • All pre-orders with Paypal, you pay the full amount when the order is placed NOT when it is shipped.  This goes for every retailer that takes Paypal as a form of payment
  • Be cautious when going for free shipping from any Exclusive Store since they all use Digital River.  Say you order 2 CE's from S/E Store and they have different release dates, DR will wait till the last item comes out to ship yours.  Meaning (since Digital River sucks donkey balls), they could end up selling your pre-order on the first item to release and you could be SOL.  Also be careful ordering something to get your free shipping threshold as well because if the item goes OOS, then you have to wait for it to come back in stock.  This happened to many CAGs ordering the Lightning Returns CE from the S/E store because they ordered key chains that went OOS.
  • ^TL;DR Version:  If something goes out of stock or is not out yet, it will delay your order.

I'd be SUPER pissed if Best Buy not only doesn't get it, but they don't make an X1 version. Be dumb not to.

Hey Guys IDK if anyone has mentioned, but Namco Bandai has dropped Digital River and is now using Amazon for shipping. You can use Amazon gift cards on their store now.

Nice try Namco Bandai, but no really is this true and if so where are the sources for this? Now we need Square Enix and Capcom to drop DR for Amazon and our lives will be easy sailing.

Those of you waiting for BB to put up a page for the Witcher 3 CE should remember BB ended up canceling all their preorders for the Witcher 2 Dark Edition CE release on 360.

They did give cancels a free copy of the regular version plus refund so they at least made up for it somewhat.
 
 
My goodness. Went to preorder a PS4 CE of The Witcher 3 and it was all gone! Didn't this just go up last night?

Amazon is usually the first site to run out for collectors editions since you aren't charged until it ships. The other sites you get charged right away.

 
Does anyone know how long the Bethesda store CS takes to respond? My Wolftenstein CE came damaged and I've been waiting the last few days for them to contact back.
 
They'll get more in stock. It happens every time. Usually they do that because they don't have an exact allotment in their system and cut it off at a certain number.

True. Having said that, Witcher 2 CE sold out as well and other than a small restock at release for cancelled orders, it was hard to get after launch other than at a premium on Ebay.

Just wait four months after it releases and it will be everywhere for 75% off. I feel like CE and LE of annual releases are pretty much worthless as they hold pretty much no value just like the game itself, because well there will be a new one next year.

Yep. Not going to be any cheaper then $119.99 IMO

and as someone else said their is little value in any annual release CE anymore---you used to be able to buy/resell/part out the COD CE's for good money but even that doesn't happen anymore.

They should just sell the statue's, flags, steelbooks separately in the UBIsoft store. I really have no interest in these anymore since every 11-12 months they put out more cheap crap

the point is they are milking the assassin creed franchise dry at this point. i really doubt they can sustain the franchise to be as profitable/successful as cod franchise going forward.

^I was all ready to pass, but that $79.99 CE looks quite enticing, particularly the steelbook... :whistle2:k

I might just preorder that if it shows up at Bestbuy.com (I would be shocked if it didn't).

imho i think if it shows up on bestbuy it's a steal with gcu. really loving the $79.99 pricepoint for collectors eidtions and reminds me of the last of us collectors edition (also $79.99; not the gamestop one), which is one of my all-time favorites and a terrific value with a steelbook and hardcover to boot.

Yeah I think I'm going to get the $79.99 one. The $149.99 one doesn't have enough extra for me to want to pay almost twice as much for it.

Might pick it up if it goes on clearance later though.

it is probably going to end up like thet last of us. since it is a new ip. i learned my lesson with refreshing the last of us listing page of amazon after release date, since it was sold out everywhere.
