Argh. I kinda want the FF ce but I don't see anything I'll get the extra 20 dollars out of. Might preorder just incase amazon has another famous CE 1 hour price mistake.

Still can't decide between amazon and BB preorder

It's pretty weak tbh. They couldn't put out an art book bigger than 20 pages? That's like barely anything. The hardened casing is the best part of the CE

I'll update the OP in a bit, on my eee atm which is a hassle to type/edit stuff on.

$20 for a 4-disc soundtrack is pretty solid IMO, considering it's Final Fantasy. Best Buy has it up now as well, their pre-order bonus is the small hardcover book.

Damn, that FFXIII-2 CE box is gorgeous... now I don't know if I should get that or the UK Crystal Edition. Both seem pretty overpriced honestly, even with a full soundtrack.:whistle2:k
I'm in for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 CE from Amazon ... wish they had Best Buy's bonus as well though.
Ditto, but I am really hoping for the steelbook from the Crystal edition...

I love Amazon 1-click.

Preordered Final Fantasy. I want the soundtrack, but man will that be tough to open when I bet it could be sold in a year for about $200 or so.

Pre-ordered the PS3 one at BB to get that booklet. Probably going to snag the 360 version at Gamestop to get the Serah DLC and so I can get it ASAP. Now I need to debate if I want to keep my Crystal Version on pre-order. My friend in the UK laid one down so I can get the steelbook. :D
can you pre-order it from gamestop?

There's never been a case of actually exclusive pre-order DLC has there? I'd imagine anyone can download it for a price.
The DLC is just a bonus for me personally. This is one I will have to have at midnight to play anyways. ;)
There's never been a case of actually exclusive pre-order DLC has there? I'd imagine anyone can download it for a price.
there has

pretty sure the Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey preorder bonuses never went up separately
Also, BB doesn't have the booklet listed as a bonus for pre-ordering the CE..
Shit I overlooked that. Good catch. Guess I will wait and see then damnit!! :bomb:

Where do you see that? I want to know before making decision on buying from Amazon or BB. Anything cool from Gamestop? XIII-2 CE is not like UK's Crystal Edition, but IMO it got more content for your money. I don't really care about the hardcover case, lame comparing to steelbook cases.
I'm not sure if the pre-order bonuses come with the CEs, but each retailer (Amazon, GS, BB) have their bonuses listed.
Both are only for the regular editions it appears. That could change of course. I do see regular editions get pre-order bonuses and not the CE editions though so maybe not

The steelbook case is a bonus from SE to those who pre-order it... it's not part of any special edition. They could have offered it here if they wanted to.

I agree that the CE we're getting is a better value but as always, I can't help but wonder if these will actually be limited or not.

It looks almost exactly the same as the MGS HD LE packaging. Goddamn Japanese companies. So lazy >.

I wonder if the XIII-2 CE will be another CE that doesn't include a standard game case. From the pic it looks like it might be inserted into the art book

Heads up for the FF XIII-2 LE, either it's legitimately a limited release or Amazon doesn't know how much many copies they'll receive because you can only order 1 maximum.

So if you want to avoid the Dark Souls headache/debacle, I'd highly recommend you pre-order NAO!

Looks like it might be a book box/case, like Lords of Shadow was. It doesn't look like there's a case for the soundtrack either.

It seems to me that BB has the best pre-order bonus as it's an actual physical item, opposed to GS and Amazon's DLC bonuses (which I can care less about). BB will be having my business this time

BB will also have my business this time. I'm going to hope that they release the pre order DLC on the PSN store. But if not, there's always ways to buy them off other people.

Same. Guess I'll cancel my zavvi order. :)

Mhm, while that's true, Dissieda012's code for Tifa's alt costume had purchases over 100USD on eBay just a day after they were released.

I doubt Omega has the same sex-appeal that Tifa has, but I'm gonna go with them on this one since Amazon on FFXIII-2.

I'm looking at it more towards a collector's standpoint rather than a financial one. There's a higher chance to obtain the in-game bonuses for a game as opposed to getting physical merchandise (like if the DLC goes on PSN or Live). You also have to factor in the condition of the physical items if you buy it from others, wherein with the in-game stuff, condition doesn't apply.

To be honest though, I would rather buy from Amazon too, but it's basically the pre-order bonuses that decides it for me.
Do I keep the keep the preorder for the crystal edition or pull the gun on the US LE????
keep both. you have 3-4 months to decide.

Yeah, learned this the hard way since I placed a normal order while waiting for CS to add one to an existing order. What's weird is they called it a 7-day limit, as in you can only order one per 7 days? That doesn't seem right but now I'm afraid to cancel the order so that they can add it.

What is this bonus thing from BB you guys/gals talking about? NM... the regular edition on BB mentions this "exclusive hardcover" book, but not the CE, weird!

What the hell this suppose to mean? You must order online? No bonus book if you pickup from the stores?

Free Exclusive Book

Learn the plot that ties together Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2 with this special offer.

While supplies last, you'll get an exclusive hardcover book with Final Fantasy XIII-2 for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Book will arrive in the package with the game.
