Personally, no. But for those who do collect, I think it's cooler looking than the songbird.

I agree, but I also need to make sense of my dollar. Do I want a statue or a toy that spins... Neither as they both serve no real function. At least MGRR had something that was functional. (Sorry to those that got a broken lamp.) SC2 collectors came with a bunch of stuff that was useful. (USB drive, mouse pad, art books, comic book, sound track, dlc, ect.)

I mean if the thing was better detailed like the Gears lancers, I could see spending 80 on it. Those things are massive, have sound, and great decor art for a game room. The toy/statue just look too 'novelty'.
 
I say the statue is better. That sky hook is pure plastic, you can youtube the video of it in action, the picture makes it look a cooler than it actually is. So in terms of display value, songbird wins I think.

Listen to this guy. I've held the skyhook and while it's nice and detailed, it's made completely out of light plastic which makes it feels cheap and flimsy. And it's not that limited. I've had the NECA twitter account reply to me and tell me that the run of the Skyhook is greater than the Portal guns. The fact that it hasn't sold out anywhere backs this up. It doesn't even come with a stand or case or anything. At least the Songbird is displayable in its box. If you want some less expensive Bioshock swag, I'd suggest the art book and the CE guide. Both are ~20 bucks online. I'm personally going Songbird and the 2 books.

Just orderd BioShock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition off GS. Couldn't believe they are still taking orders. Wonder if it would run out of stock and I won't get it. Should I cancel my Amazon order of the premium edition or keep it just to be on the safe side from GS? (How easy is it to return to Amazon after they have ship my product?)

Amazon usually charge a 4.98 shipping fee to return items but that's not bad considering the size of the Songbird statue and that it's UPS and they handle all the tracking.
 
Just a heads up to anyone that may still be interested in the Heart of the Swarm CE, Amazon's stock has dropped from 8xx to 4xx over the past two days. Chances are that this will be sold out at some point over the next few days.

You're annoyed that EBGames is selling the statue for AUD $128 (i.e. $134 USD) in a part of the world where you don't live? How does that make it less "exclusive"? If they sell the statue separately here, that would be an issue, but that's clearly not the case.

Did you guys who preordered this use standard shipping or amazon global international (the second option)?

I chose the first shipping option. I hope it won't cause any shipment delays because I have to choose the 2nd one -_-

i don't know it depends, tomb raider collector's did that but then they got 999 more in stock. I guess it just depends if they will get more stock or not.

I also did the standard shipping. I've done that with everything I've ordered from Amazon UK so far and nothing has arrived damaged. Knock on wood.

now im gonna cancel my Battle Edition preorder at gamestop. i wont be using the fight stick to be honest.

The Battle Edition might actually be limited if you guys are interested. thats what most articles are saying. plus only gamestop carries it.

no the PAL version will NOT work on the US Xbox console. if you want to play this on day one, i suggest buying a regular edition copy and then sell the PAL version of the game.

thats why im just going for the survival edition. i think it would be better to have an artbook anyway. you can read through an artbook and just stare at a statue. also its half the price.
 
So i preordered Bioshock from best buy, songbird edition. Now i see preordering gets you a $20 certificate... Does the songbird edition get this too anyone know or just the regular version? Cuz that kind of makes no sense if special editions dont. although i assume not cuz the injustice one doesnt mention the $20 either.

I only ask cuz songbird edition doesnt show up on bestbuy.com anymore, at least when i search
 
I just now noticed that the Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird edition is available to preorder at Gamestop right now. I haven't seen it available at Amazon or Best Buy in quite some time so I figured I'd pass this along. I just finished up placing my order.

Best Buy does include collector's editions in their $20 rewards promo. I just bought the Tomb Raider CE and have 1000 points pending in my account. For whatever reason, their website never seems to mention it for any special edition, but you do get the $$.

My art book was packed inside the thick paper sleeve that surrounds the Survival Tin. Did you pull the sleeve down? Seriously, it might just be hidden...

its my first time too ordering from them too, but before this week, none of us were able to import the injustice CE from amazon UK because they didnt offer international shipping services to the US until earlier this week for this game.

i was surprised myself when I was able to place one in preorder.

its hard to say if this is applicable to other CEs now and in the future, but i suppose it doesnt hurt to try and come back once in a while every week or so to check if you can import from the site. i honestly kept ordering the CE and hoping that a glitch would occur that would allow me to import the game, and suddenly they ship to the US :D

thanks blinknot and gator---I do sort of feel something behind the back of the tin, but nothing is sticking out, it seems like it's underneath in a depression on the back of the tin case
amazon might send me a replacement so I kinda don't want to open the factory wrap in case I get charged twice

It's weird, but all I can find is some news stories from January where they apologized for the statue and said they would take the outcry into consideration, but nothing actually saying they would cancel it or destroy the statues.
 
Yeah, still up for release. I had it preordered from play-asia, which was gonna be 180 USD with shipping and all, but now that amazon finally has it up for US shipping, dropping that expensive price like a bad habit. :D Time to clean off an area to display this bad boy.

Other than the controversy and the rarity, do you really like the look of that statue? It's pretty disgusting and ugly if you ask me.

Thats awesome cuz i am getting bioshock songbird edition and a regular Injustice game, both with $20 promo... lol so ill have a good $40 for my next game depending on how long the expiration is (but if they just give the points then it should be a long expiration like normal coupons, not that i know what game i want after i get bioshock and injustice lol). Thanks for the info!
