Huh, I think it sounds quite nice, actually. Kotobukiya is great at what it does, and if it's larger-sized, it'll be great. If it's articulated, it'll be awesome! However, you're entitled to your opinions.

Yeah, I was pretty fuckn' pissed off when I saw my inFamous 2 Cole statue...

I was expecting a bad ass statue, instead it looks like a damn pussy that is crying.

Canceled my UC3 C.E. b/c that I2 C.E. was so crappy.
Awwww, yeah!!!!!!

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/07/17/batman-ce-details.aspx

Can't wait for pics and more deets...
I've been waiting for this. I agree that statues can be lame. But, between this and the Gears 3 statue, I may be spending $250 on just two games this Sep/Oct. A. It's Kotobukiya and they do beautiful stuff. B. It's Batman, arguably the coolest character ever. This might be a win. Gotta see pics and get more deets. Honestly, I think Rocksteady is brave for even mumbling the words "collectors edition" after what I'll comfortably say was the worst CE of all time with the Arkham Asylum CE.

Kotobukiya does good statues. Good choice actually considering we normally get no-namers. The question is will it actually be limited in quantity. I bought Asylum on day one, so I've got my skepticism.

Honestly, I don't really care. I want it, so I'll get it. I'm buying from Amazon most likely, so if they lower the price, I could always contact CS. I really dislike this new trend of, "Oh, it's gotta be limited, or I'm not buying it!" I mean, CE's are complete fan service, so if you're a fan, buy it, and if not, then don't or pick it up later. Yes, a lot of CE's go down in price drastically, but if it's something you want, don't take a chance, and don't worry about possibly losing a few bucks. Just irks me...

EDIT: Anybody else wondering if the Gotham Knight content is the actual movie? If so, that makes me want this so much more. I mean, day one, the game and the movie would be $75, so $25 for a Kotobukiya Batman and free early DLC makes it a solid package. Only if it has the movie, though...

Oh, and read somewhere that there is supposedly more than what's listed in that article, so let's hope for the best!!! C'mon SteelBook!!!!!

Honestly, it's better than a batarang

I've never followed Kotobukiya, but I googled them and whoooooo!, they make some nice statues.

there was actually a fans voting poll for this CE. i think the choices were,
 • The Joker Statue
 • Catwoman Statue
 • Catwoman Googles
 • Batman Utility Belt
 • Two-Face Coin
i guess they took the safe route and went with batman. personally i think they made the right choice...i would've liked the utility belt but theres no way they'd make it as well as they should/could, so im happy with batman.
For anyone interested, Amazon is now offering Release-Date Delivery for Dark Souls CE, just received the e-mail this evening.
Thanks so much! I added it to the op. Though I'm not big on statues, that one does look pretty cool

Agreed. I don't care for statues and don't even have a display area for any of the ones I do get.

I'm interested in knowing if Gotham Knight is Blu-Ray for the PS3 version. I usually buy 3rd party for 360 but Blu-Ray can make the difference in this case.

I would like it if Gotham Knight is on Blu Ray regardless of platform. I have the DVD (steelbook edition!), so I wouldn't mind an HD upgrade. The cases for the game and movie are kind of weak though. Beats the Batarang though (really the only to dislike about the AA CE; all of the other extras were nice).

The batman CE got "clearance" written all over it, no way I'm going to get it on day one for $100 (even if it comes with credits or coupons). I google'd "Catwoman Googles" and it turned out it's Catwoman Goggles...
The encyclopedia is up for pre-order for $29.95. The only problem is that shipping to the US blows, and for me was a minimum of $21..........
Cheapest method for me is $18.58. Damn. It's unfortunate that they're shipping from Canada. I wish they'd give it over to Amazon or something. Then at least we wouldn't have to eat such a fat shipping cost. I put down a 1 star review. Hopefully it gets their attention. I doubt this will do anything, and I'm probably going to break down and buy this anyway...

That Batman CE looks bad ass...or should I say bat ass....*groans*

I got my Infamous 2 CE today and I have to say this may be the most impressed iv ever been with a CE. The statue and the bag are both really nice and for the $60 I paid totally worth the extra dough.

The Arkham City CE does look great. Statute and hard cover artbook makes it great. But with all these sales going on for the CE lately, I'm rather skeptical getting it at retail. I mean definitely if you are a fan, you can justify the purchase. But as all of us are consumers, we want to try and get the best price for anything we buy. So I'm just going back and forth whether I should buy a CE.

I was looking at that Infamous 2 CE because that is a good deal, and the bag would be nice. But I think I'm becoming too much of a cheapskate haha.

Son of a bitch. It says limited hopefully that's not true haha cuz I'm waiting for price drop. I've always wanted a statue of batman.

Gonna be so broke man.. Skyrim, dark souls, dead island, battlefield 3. Then PS mother Vita?? Bruce wayne have mercy on me.

GODDAMNIT DO I LOVE THIS THREAD. Seriously, thanks much OP for the creation of this page. I'm a whore sucker for SE/LE/CE/Whatever the fuck E's of games, and this thread has been the first one to bestow upon me the existence of several I never saw or do see reported elsewhere. Rock the fuck on..!

The Batman CE is a terrible CE. I'm getting the regular game instead. The statue is nice but not great. The DLC is just time exclusive, I rather wait. There's no actual jewel case for the game so we can't keep it on the shelf with our other games which is completely stupid for leaving out. The Dark Knight Returns skin is also just early access. Most people that are going to buy this CE already own the DVD/Blu-Ray of Gotham Knights so this isn't a bonus. It doesn't even come in a proper DVD case, its just w/e DC had extra of and needed to get rid of. The CE was suppose to include the comics that link Arkham Asylum to Arkham City. I don't see it in the picture above, unless its in the artbook which means its not a standard comic size or a hardcover collection of the comics. This CE doesn't really have anything worth while other than maybe the statue but there are plenty of better Kotobukiya statues of Batman then the one they showed. Oh and i forgot to mention, the music isn't music from the game but artist inspired by the game. It's not even on a real cd which pisses me off. I don't digital distributions for all my exclusive content. They should have really taken a page from what Atlus did for their CE of Catherine.

I hope they change it to something better because this is kinda pathetic to not even have a jewel case for the game. Is it me or is there no "making of" dvd for this game. I mean I never really watch those discs but its kinda something that is always included.

That's a crummy CE for Batman and I'll wait for the price drop two weeks from release. I was hoping for something more unique in terms of physical goodies and packaging. Gosh I could only hope steelbooks will one day be adopted as the main case for CE.
^^^Just out of curiosity, what makes a good or great CE?
I would also like to hear this from people. What makes a CE good/bad? To me, this CE is awesome, but I keep hearing people bash it. Why? Kotobukiya does great work on everything, and how can you tell the quality of the statue from a picture, anyway? Is it really a bad package, or just not what you were hoping for? I think people should think before they post rants about a product they have no experience with. Just my opinion, though...

No case for the game? Ofcourse there is a case for the game. Just because the picture doesn't show it, I hardly think it's a fact. It's likely just going to be next to the statue in the box.

Actually, it kind of looks like the bottom of the statue will hold the game in a drawer.

That too but I figured all the rest of the stuff would be in there. I think MK was the same way, the game was right next to the statue.

if u look at the pic, i think the game disc is in the front cover of the artbook..i could be wrong, im just going by what i see. to quote sheldon cooper and his reference to the user friendliness of windows 7, "i don't like that."
That too but I figured all the rest of the stuff would be in there. I think MK was the same way, the game was right next to the statue.
The way the CE is laid out implies to me that the game will be in a sleeve with the artbook. Looking at the image as provided, there two disc's present...the Gotham Knight disc and one inside the Artbook's cover. Since the album is digitally redeemed, only thing the artbook disc could be is the game disc.

I think that's where the other guy is thrown off. That is most likely the soundtrack cd.

edit: or not... cd is digital download. oh well. i'll eat my hat now. stupid if that indeed is like that.

I'm kinda glad that BAC CE isn't all that great so now I only have to justify buying the Uncharted 3 one. Yeah, I know it'll probably drop like a rock within weeks but I don't care. It's Uncharted 3 baby!

I consider myself a connoisseur of LE/CE's and that Batman one is great. You get a great statue, sure, it's not huge, but it's by Koto so it's quality. You get a soundtrack and if the music from the trailers are any indication, a lot of thought is going into a AAA soundtrack (I'm thinking Alan Wake quality, but I can only hope). Then you get the DVD, which is a retail release in itself. Then you get the DLC which is probably worth $10 or more by itself.....maybe more on ebay. The collectible packaging is hit and miss. I am not sure about how the statue integrates into the packaging with the drawer, but we'll see. And, I am not a fan of not including a normal retail release game box in CE's. But, again, I can live with it.

Already preordered and prepaid at gamestop.
