Debating on trading in my regular edition of Skyrim and a few other games and grabbing the collectors edition that's sitting at my local best buy. is the statue worth it?
 
The charge was only a preauthorization, so there should be no 'credit'. I just checked and my order is still open. You should check yours as well.

The statue looks awesome. Its not very heavy but its huge and the detail is good. It gets a bad wrap because people were expecting it to be ceramic or something. Its still a damn nice collectible.

I guess it was just a preauthorization, I have just never seen it with hold the amount and then "refund" it a couple of weeks later.

This. I was shocked about how light it is, but it looks good, and the art book is incredible. I'd pay $30 at least for the book alone.

It hasn't been announced for the US at all yet. Gamestop is also in the UK and the Freedom Edition will be available there.

Further evidence, their marketing people must be braindead. They offer something that symbolizes a war: they offer it to the country that was embarassed, and might not in the country that won. Can you really think it will sell BETTER there?

Happy to help out. Updating this thread is expensive, though. I found myself preordering several of the CEs as I went along.

My best guess is those stores are just slow. Look at Best Buy, they still won't acknowledge the whale Oil lamp for dishonored

That's the way to do it. Just don't forget to cancel. I've done that a couple times with standard versions of games and gotten stuck with some garbage.

I hate to see people crying about missing something they wanted, but it's like some of them just don't learn. ALWAYS order it from Amazon immediately if you have even the slightest interest and just remember to cancel closer to release if you decide you don't want it. Then you don't really miss out on much ever.

I was not interested in Ascension until I saw the CE. For $20 to get a steelbook, dlc, and a Kratos figure it sounds like a great deal...

Supposedly there will be something. This was posted yesterday on the Ubisoft forums by one of the forum mods:

'Special/Collector's Edition is coming for North America. We can, however, offer no further details at this time since we're still in the process of finalizing.

In regards to why it is taking us so long to announce what we're going to be offering, there are a couple of factors, one of which is that we know that the setting of AC3 pretty much requires that we deliver a staggeringly amazing Special Edition for North America, so we have been working very hard on meeting that expectation... that said, despite all of our extraordinarily strenuous efforts, it's extremely unlikely that anything resembling an actual Tomahawk will make it into the box. We tried our very best, but rules are rules, hehe.


But an announcement will be coming, in the hopefully very near future... and when it does, please don't hesitate to request a "roll-over" to the Special/Collector's Edition of your choice on your existing pre-order and your retailer should happily comply.'

Now, it may sill end up not being very good, but apparently we will be getting something.

pic doesn't match your description. the 2 bonus discs are gow collection and gow origins collection, both NOT included w/ the us release. the pic looks to be for the import release -pic is from a spanish website- . your own content description even shows all the extra content is digital. don't post stuff that isn't true, you already got caught for doing so once, do u really want everyone to lash out at u again?

That's not the Ascension Collector's Edition. That picture is what's included with the God of War Omega Collection, which includes God of War HD Collection, God of War III, the steelbook, and the bronze statue.

From what I read, it's only getting released in Latin America but I don't think the prices/locations have been completely confirmed yet.

Why are there 3 discs if the soundtrack is digital? I hate CE with lame in-game small bonuses. I'm not a statue person either, this is a 100% pass for me.

because its the wrong pic. pic is for a different set, not the ascension ce.

Yea, I saw the pic of the statue and steelbook and immediately thought it was the GOW Ascension Collector's Edition and posted it here. I then decided to go back and read the article attached to it. :wall:
 
I'd imagine it's going to be extremely expensive, though, if it's even made available in the states. I'd definitely want it if the price is right because that statue is gorgeous.

Somebody help me parse this sentence:
