I've used different things at different times (those 3M hangers, double-backed foam tape, frames, etc.), but I'm going to be setting up a new space and figured there might be better options out there I've never come across.

I use those cheap mainstay frames from Walmart. Cheap and gives a good border. Protects the poster and you just hang with a nail.

I get the idea of it being a surprise maybe, but yea it's definitely annoying, i mean, just a 2 minute look at the descriptions in amazon/best buy/GS site and seeing the contents doesn't hurt anyone.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, when I ordered the smash/controller bundle w/ in-store pickup, they stuck a giant sticker on the front of the box. Can't imagine that would go well with these CE boxes.

At least it's not a 15 minute "unboxing" video of an amiibo, a single piece figure enclosed in CLEAR PLASTIC on 5 out of 6 sides.

 
Welp I just got a Bravely Second LE order in basically like 5 hours after it came up... I fully expect a cancel later on since you know... BB is being BB and not taking that shit down when they're probably oversold lel

 
I don't think these Bravely Seconds are going to be as limited as the first. Gamestop still has em in stock, days after they listed it.

I wouldn't worry about cancellations from BB.

I've taken precautions with Bravely Second and Fire Emblem to ensure that not only will I get one, I'll have an undamaged one.

Hopefully the dupes end up undamaged too so there can be some happy surprises in store for a few people on release day.

You can expect Fire Emblem SE & Bravely CE to come in bubble mailers from Best Buy. That's a given with an exception of the lucky few here and there.

 
So triforce does a few shitty pack-ins and now people won't touch anything they make? Spoiler alert... but they've done some good pack-ins (TLOU Pandemic CE) too.

I'm sure it mostly comes down to what the game manufacturer is willing to pay. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but they design the statue and NOT the packaging that the statue goes inside.... right? 

Their high end stuff is great and people need to stop thinking they're going to get $300-$500 quality statues (slideshow, gaming heads, TriFroce, etc.) for the extra $50-$80 they spend over the base cost of a game (probably less when you value out the other contents in addition to the statue).

I love a lot of the Bethesda/Portal stuff that GamingHeads did but they've had some subpar CE statues too (GOW Ascension).

Does the NA version not come with the figure? They show it in the picture on the Best Buy listing.

edit: It seems Best Buy is using the wrong image for whatever reason. On Gamestop it shows no figure in the NA version.

That same picture also shows the game with a PEGI-12 rating; clearly, they used the EU info instead of the NA info (see the amazon/gamestop listings)

In store always seems to be in better condition for me. I just use a hair dryer to remove the sticker.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recalled the first Bravely Default CE didn't really become rare until after the product released. I remembered you could preorder it even shortly before release.

The first one was available for preorder for weeks (months I believe) at Best Buy. It only sold out just before or at release. This hasn't even been up for preorder half a day yet.

And the number of both new collectors and resellers keeps growing exponentially every day.

In 2016 you have friggin shitty sports games for Wii U and PS4 that are $100 and "rare" now.

It's completely out of hand.

Someone recently mentioned Last of Us: Pandemic Edition, although I have no experience with it and can't name many of their other attempts.
 
Thank you guys for the One Piece update and everything in the past few days. I never thought I would see one available for order after Amazon sold out. Between Doom CE, Bravely Second on BBY and now One Piece, this has been an amazing day for preorders. If only the Fire Emblem Special Edition online shipping glitch nonsense at Walmart would have worked correctly then I would have been set on all of my items of interest.

Oh, I thought this was an Amazon exclusive. Hopefully BB will get it.

Edit: Amazon (& BB) lists the DLC bonus as well on the regular edition, but not on the marineford edition. It's probably going to be included for both at Amazon, but just something to keep in mind.

I'm just saying if you think want something, you better get it now, and worry about it later. Just because something was up for weeks a year or two ago doesn't mean it's going to stay up that long now. Maybe it will maybe it won't, but recent trends with anything perceived as rare or collectible suggest that it more than likely won't. I still remember when just preordering alone at any time was enough and there was no window; there was no such thing as "sold out" for a preorder.

More and more collectors and resellers alike these days and preorder windows are just getting shorter by the day, sometimes just mere seconds (cough Saturday Morning RPG cough).

Don't get stung by a false sense of security because something is up for more than 5 seconds. If you want it, get it. You have months to think about it and cancel, but only seconds, minutes, or hours to lose it forever and be stuck paying 5x msrp.

It was posted here but there really wasn't time. It pretty much sold out within seconds for both waves. If you weren't on the site refreshing the second it went live you weren't going to get one. Only the Vita version on the second wave lasted a couple of minutes maybe an hour. It was hard to tell because the site would continue showing stock but not let you check out. Yet somehow resellers were able to get 5 and 8 copies and have them on ebay within minutes. Fortunately the guys running that weren't having it and manually verified all orders and cancelled a bunch.

Between stuff like that, Devil's Third being "holy grail" not even 24 hours of it's release (which is bullshit, Devil's Third has nothing on MK8 and HW LEs), NBA games being $100 and rare (2K13 for wii U and 2K16 Jordan on PS4 already), and having staked out amiibo since Nov '14, and numerous other CEs and limited consoles (Metal Gear, etc) I take no chances with anything anymore.

Shit's ridiculous and it just feels like it gets worse by the hour.

You don't have to wait 30 years anymore for anything to be "rare and collectible". You only need to wait 30 microseconds after a preorder sells out, which also takes the same amount of time.

Moral of the story is just because some CE was up for weeks a year ago or the previous release of a game stayed on shelves for weeks, that is no indication of how long something is going to sell out today or tomorrow.

It's still available at BB for me. I don't think stock will be an issue for it. In fact, I expect it to be discounted like all the other bundles like Chibi Robo in the future.

You do understand that it's collectors like yourself who are actually making it much worse, correct? You readily admit to preordering multiple copies thus impacting supply. I sadly know many collectors like yourself who do the same thing. Moreover, instead of having self control and will power to say "I don't need every piece of plastic that gets thrown in a box with a game and slapped with a limited or collectors edition label", you preorder and buy everything in the false belief that it's valuable or will make you feel a sense of accomplishment.

I've been collecting myself for a very long time, but it doesn't take much wisdom or insight to realize that the vast majority of "rare" items coming out today aren't rare at all and that this is just a bubble that will burst in a few years when people realize that unlike a decade ago when very few people were collecting and games were being tossed away and stripped down to just a bare cartridge or disc, there are thousands of collectors keeping pristine copies of every single non-vanilla game release that comes out.

Personally, I preorder what I'm interested in and I don't worry about missing a few games that I will never play anyway. Maybe it's time to reflect on the underlying causes of your desire to scoop up everything you see and put that energy into something more productive and satisfying.

Makes me wonder how Revelations will work; are those carts specially coded I guess to allow a free download of it?

Wonder if someone on here will get a CE cart from someone trading one into GS if that's the case.

Only the Vita version on the second wave lasted a couple of minutes maybe an hour. It was hard to tell because the site would continue showing stock but not let you check out. Yet somehow resellers were able to get 5 and 8 copies and have them on ebay within minutes. Fortunately the guys running that weren't having it and manually verified all orders and cancelled a bunch.

Between stuff like that, Devil's Third being "holy grail" not even 24 hours of it's release (which is bullshit, Devil's Third has nothing on MK8 and HW LEs), NBA games being $100 and rare (2K13 for wii U and 2K16 Jordan on PS4 already), and having staked out amiibo since Nov '14, and numerous other CEs and limited consoles (Metal Gear, etc) I take no chances with anything anymore.

Shit's ridiculous and it just feels like it gets worse by the hour.

You don't have to wait 30 years anymore for anything to be "rare and collectible". You only need to wait 30 microseconds after a preorder sells out, which also takes the same amount of time.

Moral of the story is just because some CE was up for weeks a year ago or the previous release of a game stayed on shelves for weeks, that is no indication of how long something is going to sell out today or tomorrow.

Well I sold NBA 2k16 Jordan for $60 on Amazon with code used right after launch b/c I didn't like the Spike Lee career mode; is it more valuable now? My GS still has a gutted copy of that I believe.

Kinda random and weird, but last night I was able to order another FF:Explorers CE from the Square-Enix site. They charged me and says shipping is ready. Crossing fingers! :pray:

All three versions are on the cart (this already came out in Japan), and so you shouldn't need to download anything- video shows that at the 'decision point', you get three options corresponding to all three paths
