I can understand how that works on something that's deceptive, but how does that work on scalpers? i guess i could see if they claim something is "sold out everywhere" but it's not. but i don't see how that would justify it, either. :/

EDIT: by the bye, i'd have liked to have had the FF statue, but i also prefer the DE SB to the CE. I also like having an extra $200 to blow on other questionable purchases.

Look in the General eBay rant thread. I chronicled a pretty good story on a bastard that tried to file a chargeback on a FE Fates SE on me. eBay banned him within 12hrs , I got all up in him pretty good and I got my money back within an hour. Matter of fact, a lot of Nintendo fans had a movement going on ton file a chargebacks on Fates SE since they were salty about not getting one.

I have a friend who's in that situation. She can't even open a ticket with SE since she didn't copy down the order number. Also saw a few others on reddit and gamefaqs reporting the same thing. No confirmation email nor waitlist email. Maybe you guys orders just somehow got lost in their system. Good luck!!!

Amazon is only selling street fighter v ce to prime members now. How is this legal?

I know that amazon has special deals for prime members from time to time but just restricting the sale of a product to prime member s? Is capcom ok with this? Sony?

A bunch of stores have special pricing for members. Target RedCard (5% off all orders), BestBuy GCU (20% off new games), Gamestop PUR (10% off used games / accessories), etc. Though it's slightly different since it isn't price based but percentage but still, not that different.

It's greedy, not illegal. Don't like the way Amazon has been going of late. Trying to pressure people into buying Prime. In a vacuum it's totally harmless, but it sets a bad precedent. Bit by bit, they will try to make buying on Amazon miserable for people who don't have Prime. It's a drop in a bucket, but when it turns into an ocean, it's pharma companies charging out the ass for medications people need and have no choice but to pay for. The ugly side of capitalism, and why I loathe it sometimes.

The great thing about capitalism is money speaks. Don't pay for something and eventually prices drop and companies do what they need to do to cater to you.
 
Fortunately for big businesses, most people are too "weak" or aren't motivated enough to boycott, seek alternatives, etc. They just take it, continue to pay, and the business just ho-hum along.

I think his gripe was not that Prime members are the only ones to get a discount, rather that ONLY Prime members can buy the game currently from Amazon. If you don't have Prime, you can't buy the game from them all (other than from a third party). Which is kind of a shitty move (and I have Prime). Nonmembers at those other retailers you mentioned can buy the games, just not at the percentage off given to members.

Not only is it illegal, but it's unconstitutional. It violates section 1, article 8, clause 3 of the constitution.

"Amazon shalt not sell crap only to prime members"

Seems pretty clear to me.

Not to split hairs, but there are way more JRPGs being released in the US nowadays compared to the 90s. 6-8 years ago you would have a point, but things have gotten a lot better for us JRPG players especially in the last 3-4 years.

Eh, but the quality isn't there. Consoles like the vita is filled with too much pink haired waifu garbage. Classics like FF7, Chrono Trigger, and Shadow Hearts 2 aren't being made. Too much waifu, weaboo pandering instead of trying to make characters like Lenneth Valkyrie or Alucard

You should pick standard shipping for pre-orders anyways, you'll still get it on release day. It's the dumb ones that paid for expedited shipping that's being taken for a ride.

That hasn't been the case for my last three pre-orders from Square. All of them have shipped a day before release but not arrived until Friday of release week. I live in California and they/Pepita ship from Cinram in TN now I believe, so that may make a difference.

Hmmm interesting, for both DQ Heroes CE and FF Explorers CE, I got them on release day. And I live in TX. They ship it out the week before release and I got free shipping both times cause my orders was over $100 both times.

Edit: I do remember them saying you have to have preordered by a certain time to have guaranteed release day arrival. Did you preorder yours maybe shortly before release date?

Nope. I preordered each one the day they went live.

 
I paid the extra. My Lightning Returns CE took an extra day after release because of a fuckup by UPS handing my package to USPS.

I figure worst case it will guarantee only UPS handles it. Best case since I live near a shipping hub it comes super early.

Lucky. I just paid some guy more than I should have had to for this. Ended up being under $100 though with the coupon code, but still, would've preferred to pay it to SE directly (even IF they have horrible c/s and a terrible website)

Yeah, certainly quality is hard to come by now, but quantity could be argued - at least if you had a Vita or a PS3/4. Us Xbox/Nintendo guys are stuck with next to nothing.

I pretty much blame MS/Xbox for the decline of RPG/platformer/adventure genres on consoles and the rise of deathmatch versus bro 'nade shooters throughout 6th and 7th gen. Specifically by catering to that market with Halo, Gears, etc and basically starting the console FPS glut we've been for the last decade. So serves them right. They dug themselves into that demographic hole and nobody is going to help them get out of it now. All they will ever be good for is Halo/Gears/Forza ten times a month. They killed Rare, nuff said.

Nintendo on the other hand...

Xenoblade Chronicles X was the biggest letdown of 2015 for me. It didn't even scratch the deep story and tragic melodrama of the original. Original XC had me expecting a great game the moment the title music started playing. XCX had too much mainstream too cool for school appeal and not enough tears and tingles and story telling.
